So today I was in a rut as usual and I prayed to God for peace and it happened a little at first but a few scriptures came to mind and I felt great for an hour or so and my body apparently doesn't know how to handle peace of mind and the lack of the consistent knot in my stomach so it felt odd but good. But proof that I'm not allowed to be happy for more than an hour my doubt came back and started to wonder if it was some kind of euphoria my brain caused ( much like my pornography addiction) and I'm now worse off than I was before. Yeah I suppose I deserve it and all but still seems kinda pointless to ask God for any kind of peace or happiness at this point

It's never pointless to ask God for something good. He delights to give His kids good things; that's why Jesus asked the crowd rhetorically, "If your son asks you for a fish, will you give him a snake?"

I don't know your story, but it's possible that God wants to deal with the causes of your lack of peace. He can give you some temporarily, but His plan is to set you free of your junk so that you walk in peace most of the time. For now, I'd encourage you to apply Philippians 4:5-9.

Kojikun, it helps a lot of people to do the following. Pray that Jesus fills you to overflowing with the power of the Holy Spirit. It's available to anyone who has asked Jesus to be their Savior from sin. Luke 11:13 is one verse that references this. I'm not pretending that I haven't had many times myself when I needed to ask for peace as well, and we all sometimes sabotage ourselves with letting doubt come in, etc. I also agree with what Dino said about needing healing and freedom from other things in order to be better, not just to feel better temporarily (ask Jesus fervently for help with this as well!). Hope that helps, Bro!

John 12:25
Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life.

John 15:19
If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

James 4:4
Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

1 John 2:15
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

1 Corinthians 4:11
Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwelling place; 12 And labor, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it: 13 Being defamed, we entreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and are the off scouring of all things unto this day. 14 I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you."

2 Corinthians 12:10
That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Matthew 5:3
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. 10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Luke 6:20
“Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. 21 Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh. 22 Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man. 23 “Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven. For that is how their ancestors treated the prophets. 24 “But woe to you who are rich, for you have already received your comfort. 25 Woe to you who are well fed now, for you will go hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you will mourn and weep. 26 Woe to you when everyone speaks well of you, for that is how their ancestors treated the false prophets.

Matthew 10:22
You will be hated by everyone because of Me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.

Philippians 1:21
For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. 22 If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! 23 I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; 24 but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body. 25 Convinced of this, I know that I will remain, and I will continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith

1 Thessalonians 3:7
Therefore, brothers and sisters, in all our distress and persecution we were encouraged about you because of your faith. 8 For now we really live, since you are standing firm in the Lord.

To the Bolded part : Why?

Why not just speak to God and aknowledge that you doubted and that it is never good to doubt Him.. And thank Him for His Atonement that gained you forgivenness for your sin.. Then ask again for His intervention to overcome your current worse state and restore you to a better state..

God is very very quick to forgive.. He is long suffering towards us, even when we are being especally pathetic..

When Peter was walking out on the water towards Jesus he doubted and started to sink.. But Jesus did not just let him sink and drown.. Peter called out to Jesus to save him and Jesus emediatly reach down and grabbed Peter and saved Him..

Matthew 14: KJV
25"And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. {26} And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. {27} But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. {28} And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. {29} And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. {30} But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. {31} And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?"

We being humans all have our own Peter moments..

No honey being unhappy is not what you deserve, nor is being addicted to pornography, You were created for far more than that, and I hope you do not stop seeking till you find your true purpose and fulfill it. When we were created, God called his creation good, and even though at one time God repented of mankind mankind, he has now paid the price to be reunited with each of us.

Seek and ye shall find, knock and the door shall be opened.

Doubt is the opposite of faith.
Fight it with the Word of God, as faith increases , doubt will decrease.

God desires to give you his peace, that passes understanding.

Don't stop seeking till you find it, then fight to keep it.

Jesus died that we might be free. Freedom does not include bondage. Addiction is bondage.

Lust impose upon us the belief that happiness and contentment are impossible unless we have what we want

www.gotquestions.org/lustful-thoughts

Luke 10:20 can refute satanic lies that "sin is the only way to happiness"

For Luke 10:20 have said "rejoice that your name is written in heaven"

And 1 Cor 10:13 - God will always leave a way out for you

And the spiritual privilege of Luke can provoke went for salvation like Romans 11:14

And John 12:32 - Jesus was lifted up and Jesus will draw all men to Jesus

It's a hard thing to accept but sometimes I think the Lord wants us to do what we know how to do.

Simple things, like not being inside in a dark room on a nice day. Not skipping church or getting involved in fun activities that will be by default kind of lift us out of our funk.

I'm not sure where it says in scripture not to doubt. Doubts are human. It's what we do with doubts that matters.
