Christ changes our heart when we are saved, which enables us to love.

We don't "wish", God gives of His blessings to His children in whatever measure He deems appropriate..

Ephesians 1:3
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.”

2 Corinthians 1:21-22
"Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come."
Love is an action born out of understanding; an action is a work. The work is out of faith and not the other way round. Without love, there's no salvation and your faith in Christ is a lost course.

Love is action, but it is more than action. The Bible describes it as having a circumcised heart - and is absolutely necessary for salvation.

Psalm 51:10 has a prayer "Create in me a clean heart O Lord, and renew in me a right spirit"

God actually does this when we are saved - initially justified. We are given that new heart of flesh instead of stone, and given that renewed Spirit.

That is why, and how, you see these amazing conversion stories that are absolutely life changing. They inspire just to hear of the power of God in their lives..

Of course, not everyone has that much change to do in the first place, some people come to this slowly over time and don't see the drastic change, but all of God's children have experienced this heart change and Spirit renewal in one degree or another.

Its why the Bible connects "love" and a "circumcised heart" so closely to salvation as in, you can't have one without the other.

All who have the ability to trust in Christ alone for their salvation have been given these gifts by God, because therein lies the keys to our salvation. Belief in Christ.

There is not one thing we add, or can add, to Christ's work on the Cross.

Nope. And there are no 'amazing conversion stories', those that you have heard are nothing more than just stories for the kingdom of God doesn't come with observable signs that someone can say "..look, there it is, those that are claiming to be converted.."

1 Cor 13:2........ and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.

This verse is simple; if you have faith, real faith but have no love, you are nothing. Love is shown and is what is felt by the other person and not your self.

"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh." Ezekiel 36:26

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" 2 Corinthians 5:17

These aren't works, they are gifts that if you don't have you seek until you find, you seek Gods Face, that relationship with Him.

We are under the New Covenant, not the old. God has written His law on our hearts now.

Love for others is an effort that you have to put to overcome hate. It is not something that just come when you are asleep.

Matt 25:
37“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.

41“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

44“They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’

45“He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

46“Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

"Whatever you did" indicates works. The other group that did not do were called evil.
You surely do not believe that it is Jesus who actually fed Himself through them or clothed Himself through them?!

When all of salvation is your own work - and according to you every aspect of being saved is under your own power, contrary to what the Bible says - all your doing is building for yourself a tower of Babel, which didn't go so well for those builders..

I'm not saying salvation is 'all my work', there's a command we have to obey and the only way to obey this command is to put our effort towards others. Loving other people is a work that has to be done, you can not just claim to love others, you have to do something to let them feel loved.

Matt 25:
37“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

46“Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

These people's righteousness was accounted on the works they did and the others (evil doers), were evil because of what they did not do. In this passage, we don't see faith alone but we see those that obeyed the command to love and they did that through works.

So, what your saying is that God isn't a God at all because He "tries" to do things
but isnt always powerful enough to get it accomplished?
I think God finishes what He begins:
Philippians 1:6 "And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you
will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ."

Sounds pretty capable to me!
Thanks for your reply.
God's hands are often tied because of man's free will.
Apparently, many believers see themselves as being robots.

Now, for the real explanation ...
Paul's method of dealing with the churches is often not understood!
He very tactfully mixes his dire warnings in with copious amounts of
edifications, exhortations, encouragements, blessings, etc.
Those not following the Spirit whilst reading the NT,
will miss his intended meaning (i.e. what he is getting at).
The red camoflages (somewhat hides) some of what he is saying.
However, the precious Holy Spirit leads those BACs who are OPEN
into all (spiritual) Truth (John 14:26).
Several of the deeper spiritual Truths are "somewhat hidden"
because (one reason is) the babes in Christ are just not ready for them.

Chirst does the work through us as a living sacrifice and exactly why ALL GLORY GOES TO GOD
Romans 12:1
"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God,
that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God,
which is your reasonable service." (NKJV)

Those who are reasonable BACs will gladly offer themselves to God as holy vessels.

People who are NOT born-again will NOT be willing to do it.
Those BACs who are NOT reasonable will also NOT be willing to do it.

And both are required for salvation!

Isn't justification tied in with righteousness?

Here's an example of a short NT passage that you reject ...

“… let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous just as He is righteous.
He who sins is of the devil … Whoever has been born of God does not sin (habitually)
… In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest:
whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God” (1 John 3:7-10)

So, are you a child of the devil?
We are justified through Jesus and the cross.
We are sanctified by the on going work of the Holy Spirit in our hearts.

Sanctification will not complete its work before we meet Jesus.
So there is the problem. If sanctification does not complete its work
how can we be saved if this must be completed before we are saved.

Faith saves us, and it sanctifies us the more we walk with Jesus day in day out.
We are saved because of faith, and the work of change probably never ends
even into eternity. God bless you

Believers keep salvation by repenting of their sins
Salvation (the GIFT of eternal life) is of the Lord. There is no doubt that repentance is a necessary condition for justification by grace through faith (Acts 20:21).

But it is NOT believers who keep their salvation but that BELIEVERS ARE KEPT BY THE POWER OF GOD (1 Peter 1:5).

Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

What Peter is saying is that there is an end point to salvation (just like Paul says the same thing). And that is glorification (a supernatural work of God). That is "salvation ready to be revealed in the last time". God saved us so that eventually we would be perfected, and made in the image of Christ -- "conformed to the image of His Son".

Yes, again this is all about a misunderstanding of what true saving faith is!
And ditto for true saving belief.

Exactly....you know I was thinking....all the workers for and salvation losers that accuse us of saying grace is a liscense to sin is PROOF we are correct in our stance.....the legalists of Paul's day accused him of the same crap....so we must be preaching the same thing Paul preached.....eternal salvation by grace through faith!!!!!

Their obedience did.

If anyone does not obey the command to love one another, their faith in Christ is in vain.
False.....faith saves not works or some obedience laced religious hoop jumping......

So, you reject the NT verses which say that ...
true saving faith results in love, obedience, good works, etc.
Shall I go on?
You must be one of those who listens to and believes Satan's lies.

YOUR DRIVEL = zero......No, what I reject is a false gospel that devalues Christ, interjects works, religious hoop jumping and the blather peddled by the working for salvation losers like yourself..........

It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

No Phariseeical hoop jumping required....trust Jesus by faith before you find yourself in the group labeled MANY by Jesus....!!

Yes His righteousness is tied in His justice. He is both the just and justifier of our new faith.

We are saved by the faith of Christ according to his three day "labor of love" or called a "work of faith" .His faithfulness is not without work .We are saved by a imputed righteousness not of our ow selves <but as The Spirit of Christ works in us to both will; and do his good -pleasure
