I Left the Light On

I love that I can meet with You,
Within my humble home,
And as I bow and pray to You,
I need no steepled dome.
I only need a tiny space
Where I can find Your presence
Where I can bring my heart to rest,
Within Your calming essence.
And when I turned that tiny space
Into Your Holy Ground,
I meet with You throughout the day
Your heart, my only sound.
It has a chair, and Your Word
Upon a tiny table,
And a little lamp to light the dark,
These Are my only staples.
Today I left the light on Lord,
To shatter all the dark,
To welcome You into my home,
As You light up my heart.

With Love to Jesus

Thanks for that beautiful poem. Isn't it wonderful
how God caresses us with simple sweetness so
we can live in simplicity joyfully always in Him.

Somehow what we write ourselves pleases even us when we read it! Could it be that we are not alone when we write it!

I believe so, 100%. I know you agree that in writing a cathartic and warming presence is felt. We are so very blessed when we reflect on His goodness forever more. I haven't been writing lately. Perhaps, He is calling. I hope you continue to do so. We are blessed by your time with Him writing. This is the same author as the one you really enjoyed the most yesterday. She is soooo gifted. I think today, I will see if I can find any new work of hers.

Those descriptive words "cathartic and warming" sum it up! Good words.

If you have others you know that have written what you like on the forum...please give me their usernames. I know I will like them too.

First off I want you to know I like the poem and the concept behind it....good stuff!

But the mischief side of me....

Well it reminds me that every time I leave the light on at night the bugs just flock to it like the swarm is after me....including the spiders.
