If you think that God called the ADVERSARY, SATAN, THE MAN OF LAW LESS NESS, that for no reason, think again. God makes and gives the law Satan breaks and doesn't want the law. Who do you follow is the question you must ask your self.
I don't follow my imagination of what I think the law says.

That way is lawlessness.

I abide in Christ and He grows the fruit.

I don't follow my imagination of what I think the law says.

That way is lawlessness.

I abide in Christ and He grows the fruit.
Christ told you what he said, that is law.
Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
Matthew 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Matthew 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 5:21 Ye have heard that it was said of them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
Matthew 5:22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
Matthew 5:23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
Matthew 5:24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
Matthew 5:25 Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.
Matthew 5:26 Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.
Matthew 5:27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
Matthew 5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
Matthew 5:29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
Matthew 5:30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
Matthew 5:31 It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:
Matthew 5:32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
Matthew 5:33 Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:
Matthew 5:34 But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:
Matthew 5:35 Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.
Matthew 5:36 Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.
Matthew 5:37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
Matthew 5:38 Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
Matthew 5:39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
Matthew 5:40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also.
Matthew 5:41 And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.
Matthew 5:42 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.
Matthew 5:43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
Matthew 5:45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven:for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
Matthew 5:46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
Matthew 5:47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
Matthew 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

That's not what Peter says. That's your wrong interpretation of what Peter says.

Peter says to not be led away with the error of the wicked. Or the error of the lawless, which is the same thing.

The solution for that is NOT working at the law in your own understanding.

The solution Peter gives is to Grow in Grace and in the Knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Peter 3:15-17
15 Consider also that our Lord’s patience brings salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom God gave him.

16 He writes this way in all his letters, speaking in them about such matters. Some parts of his letters are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction.

17 Therefore, beloved, since you already know these things, be on your guard so that you will not be carried away by **the error of the lawless** and fall from your secure standing.

What is the error of the wicked or the error of the lawless as defined by Peter?

What is wickedness or lawlessness?

Yes, and you have no understanding of them.

You think the Law is still for you to follow in your own will and understanding.

How are you going to be Perfect like God in Heaven is Perfect by working at the law?

Do you think maybe the Law is to bring you to Christ so He can Perfect you? And then once the Law has done that its purpose is over?

The statements you made must be of yourself because they are not about me. You may perceive me that way but I think those are your feelings about yourself. Not thinking the law is glorious, I cant imagine.

PERFECT

5046 teleios

complete in all its parts, full grown, of full age, SPECIALLY OF THE COMPLETENESS OF CHRISTIAN CHARACTER
Didn't seem like Gods Word was really that confusing.

Be Perfect Like God in Heaven is Perfect.

Its a direct compare and contrast.

If you think you can do it by working at the law in your own will and strength you are mistaken.

I'm rubber and you're glue, whatever you say bounces off me and sticks to you?

I said that to my wife once when she was mad. At first I think she got more mad. Then she started laughing. Like I hoped she would.

Its people who think that their work at the law makes them law "keepers". That is the error of the wicked. The error of the lawless.

People who work at the law in their own imagination thinking they obey it.

The cure for this is to Grow in Grace and in the Knowledge of our Saviour the Lord Jesus Christ. Not falling from our steadfastness in the Lord.

You're starting to see it too huh?

The veil is being lifted.
Today is a fine day indeed. I told Grandpa if he was ever really looking to find the truth, and to walk with the Lord, to just come find me. Today he did. His words say no, but his actions speak louder. We just need to give him more of the truth. He will say what he always says but we must not be discouraged.

sorry, this is for deighann, I grabbed the wrong post.

you asked what God said. God the Father said of the Son " hear Him ", on the Mount of Transfiguration , in the presence of Moses ( the Law) and Elijah ( the Prophets ). are you putting the Words in Red above all other Scripture? if no, you are not obeying God.

if you ignore what God the Father said to Moses in Lev. 26 about who is under the Mosaic Covenant, then you are not honoring His Words.

so. when you ask " what does God say", ask yourself if you are doing it, or just going with your opinion.

I doesn't need to be any more difficult that 1,2,3,4,5,6!

1Jn 2:3-6 KJV And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. (4) He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. (5) But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. (6) He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

Jesus declared that the only way to "KNOW" Him was;

Joh 14:21 KJV He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

All the letters in RED are critical to KNOW, KNOW, KNOW - KEEP, KEEP, KEEP! There is no other way to get to know Him and the Father except this way!

Joshua said it:

Jos 1:8 KJV This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

David was doing the same thing:

Psa 119:11 KJV Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

This is the same as memorizing. This is why God declared David as;

Act 13:22 KJV And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.

Why would God say that about David? Simple, again, David sought to KNOW Him through His commandments! And, he kept them! This is the WAY! The only way to KNOW Jesus and the Father! This is why the Holy Spirit leads us to a love of the LAW because He leads us to Jesus and ultimately the Father!

Study those words of Jesus! Ask yourself as you study and meditate on His words; "What is it He is admonishing me to do?" Get this part right, pray for understanding, wait for it from His Holy Spirit that will lead you into all truth! Jn 16:13; 1Jn 2:27
The simply obey, follow His commands. His yoke is easy and His burden is light. The Holy Spirit will lead you into the OT to lear yet more. Let the lessons continue. The author of the words in Red is the same as Him who gave Moses the OT Law. Lew Him show you what they mean and simply follow the Holy Spirits teaching. This is the essence of al "Walk with God"

You will find your mind, spirit, heart changing, experiencing the words of God pouring in with new light and life and you will be a New Creation. Don't let men poison your thoughts and heart towards God! This is your walk with God, not your walk under other men with God.
