Have you ever been in a Bridal party where the Bride became the Bridezilla? Have you by chance watched the t.v. series?
Bridezilla- woman whose behaviour in planning HER wedding is regarded as obsessive or intolerably demanding! A PrimaDona or fairytale Princess who considers herself the single most important person on the planet! She can be from very difficult to impossible,nasty,snippy,rude,beligerient,caustic, aggressive and demeaning!

Before we examine the Bride,let's look at the Bridegroom!
In olden times a dowry was the price the groom received for taking to be his bride the eldest daughter! In Ep.5:25-27, Instead of receiving a dowry,Jesus purchased His bride( the church) with Himself because He LOVED His bride!
Is.54:5- For the MAKER is thine husband; the Lord of host is His name;and the redeemer the Holy One of Israel,the God of the whole earth shall He be called.
Hoses 2: 19/20- And I will betroth thee unto Me forever;yea,I will betroth thee unto Me in righteousness,and in judgement,and in lovingkindness,and in mercies. I will even betroth thee unto Me in faithfulness,and thou shalt KNOW the Lord.
Mat22:2- The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king,which made a marriage for His Son.

Now let's look at the Bride as she SHOULD be!
Rev.7:9 -And after this I beheld,and,lo,a great multitude,which no man could number,of ALL nations,and kindreds,and people,and tongues,stood before the throne,and before the Lamb,clothed with white robes,and palms in their hands;
Rev.19:8And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen,CLEAN AND WHITE:for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
2Cor.11:2-For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy:for I have espoused you to one husband,that I may PRESENT YOU AS A CHASTE VIRGIN TO CHRIST.

THIS IS THE BRIDE,THE CHURCH AT THE BRIDEZILLA STAGE;
1 Cor1:11-For it hath been declared unto me of you my brethern,by them which are of the house of Chloe,THAT THERE ARE CONTENTIONS AMONG YOU.
1Cor.3:3For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you enying,and strife,and divisions,are ye not carnal,and walk as men?
2 Cor12:20-For I fear,lest,when I come shall be found unto you such as ye would not: lest there be debates,envyings,wraths,strifes,backbitings,whisperings,swellings,tumults:
Phil.2:15- That ye be blameless and harmless,the sons of God,without rebuke,in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation,among whom ye SHINE AS LIGHTS IN THE WORLD;
1 John 3:10-In this the children of God are manifest,and the children of the devil: whosoever DOETH NOT RIGHTEOUSNESS is NOT OF GOD,NEITHER HE THAT LOVETH NOT HIS BROTHER.

The bride is not the church.
The remnant/bride are part of the church.
Most churches have a remnant.
Usually a small group.
Thats the bride

When I say the Bride is the church,I do NOT mean a denomination nor a building!! His bride is a multitude,unable to number!

Those who have placed their faith in Jesus, confessed with their mouths, believe in their hearts and made him Lord.

Not a mental assent.

There are gonna be many people upset when judged by Jesus.
Faith and sin has already been judged.
Works will be judged.

Over here in the U.K many would say they are Christians because historically we are a Christian country.

They identify with history and culture.
Yes they do good works but give only metal assent.

Many who identify as Christian will be told to depart because Jesus never knew them.
By inference they never knew him.

My kids watch a programme called "Say yes to the dress"
I'm think it's American programme where brides to be go to look for wedding dresses and the family and others go along.

It does my head in.

I was using " Bridezilla" as a comparative the the "Bride of Christ " in these last days! How pompous and irritating an demeaning the bride to be becomes when " She" thinks everything is ALL about her! We are to always show Jesus' love especially among the brethern! Not so in these times,it's all about our " OWN SELF RIGHTEOUSNESS"! Blessings Lanolin!

Yes amongst our brothers and sisters.

We all need to remember that Jesus told us to love our enemies.

Funnily enough my wife and I were discussing something earlier.

Jesus said "You have heard it said, love the neighbors but

Matthew 5:43-44

Love Your Enemies
(Luke 6:27, 28, 32–36)
43 “You have heard that it was said, You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,

God never said "Hate the enemy"
Yet the people of the time were taught that by the teachers of the time.
"you have heard it said"

In fact many verses in the O.T God told us to do good to those who are our not neighbors.

Got no idea how we got the point of discussing this because we were discussing egality and complimentary concerning women in the church.

Then we talked about many things

The Bible has a lot to say about the Lord's churches......it also has a lot to say about....

a. Context <---misusing this to hang scriptures on points one wishes to make is not of God

b. Hypocrisy <---This comes from two Greek words and means OPINIONATED ONE <---Opinions peddled as the word of God does not fly either

c. Truth <-----This is what we should speak and stand on.....

d. Pretense <----we can make disclaimers all day long to cover an actual attack or pointed strike at someone and our motive becomes all to clear and IMPURE

e. Honesty <----It is not unbiblical to use sarcasm, pointed words, heat and even names at times to address those in error..JESUS, John, ELIJAH, PAUL as well as others done it

f. Judgment <----we are to rightfully judge and NO WOMAN or MAN can judge motive unless it is OBVIOUS based upon action or deed

Just to name a few...........

I am fairly confident that JESUS is the judge of his churches..........................................!!!

You sound as though you and your wife have a lovely relationship in Christ. Blessing to you both may you ever remain steadfast to one another and to Him!

THIS IS THE BRIDE,THE CHURCH AT THE BRIDEZILLA STAGE;
Phil.2:15- That ye be blameless and harmless,the sons of God,without rebuke,in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation,among whom ye SHINE AS LIGHTS IN THE WORLD;
1 John 3:10-In this the children of God are manifest,and the children of the devil: whosoever DOETH NOT RIGHTEOUSNESS is NOT OF GOD,NEITHER HE THAT LOVETH NOT HIS BROTHER.
That is good, but those who do not act accordingly is not part of the bride for Jesus would not put up with them, and if they can divorce in the physical realm on this earth then there can be divorce by Jesus concerning the people that do not do right.

Which the Bible says do not depart from the living God by the deceitfulness of sins, and if you do not continue in the goodness of God then you will be cut off.

That is why the marriage on earth is so important that Jesus said no divorce unless they commit adultery for then they broke the covenant, and a divorce can be given, for the physical marriage on earth is symbolic of the spiritual marriage on in heaven.

Which if a person becomes a hypocrite then they have broken the covenant, for God said sins separate people from Him, and Paul said awake to righteousness, and sin not, but some do not have the knowledge of God, and he spoke that to their shame, and Jesus said the hypocrites do not belong to Him.

It is amazing that people say they cannot abstain from sin when Paul said they could, and rebuked people for their sins, and say that sin does not affect their relationship with God when Paul said that it does, and said if he did not do what is right then he would be a castaway.

1Co 9:26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:
1Co 9:27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

castaway
adokimos
ad-ok'-ee-mos
From G1 (as a negative particle) and G1384; unapproved, that is, rejected; by implication worthless (literally or morally): - castaway, rejected, reprobate.

Paul said he would be a castaway if he did not act Christlike but many people want to say it is not possible to be a castaway, and it appears like they only want to hear Paul on certain things, and not others.

Are they mightier than Paul, and better than him.

Jesus can divorce those who go back to the world, and act like the world, and hold unto that attitude.

Which all sin can be forgiven no matter how long you did it, but the sad thing being the end time and with technology booming that increased the selfishness, and arrogance of people because it caused money and material things to flow like a raging river, and wordliness, and worldly entertainment galore, and fleshy pleasures, and those things in abundance that has not happened in the past that it causes many to want to enjoy those things when they claim Christ and believe they are alright.

But Jesus can divorce people that hold unto sin, and believe they are alright for their attitude is not Christlike.

And physical marriage where they become one flesh being a physical representation of the spiritual marriage in which Jesus and His saint become one by the Spirit, the marriage is supposed to abide by caring about each other in all things that pertain to each other's welfare with no selfishness, or arrogance at all, and are compatible completely.

So the only way we can be part of the bride of Christ is if we are compatible with Him to be Christlike, and if Jesus and the saint become one then the saint has to be Christlike for Jesus is not going to change to be unclean, which is why God said be ye holy for I am holy.

When we sin we break the covenant with God until we repent, and get rid of it not wanting it, and meaning it, and God knows the heart.

The two become one so they are to operate by the same ways so how can a person that is a hypocrite believe they are still saved, for they are not operating according to the ways of God.

And God said His commandments are not grievous.

And Jesus said if they do not do what He says they do not love Him, which Jesus said repent, turn away from sins.

And every time we sin we forfeit our repentance until we repent, and stop doing the sin.

2Ti 3:4 lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
2Ti 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
2Ti 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
