Here’s something alarming

India in 2018 reported 220481 suicides, China 138482
Ppl who do this have lost all hope. Can we not help? Share the hope of our faith? Our love in Jesus? These are souls lost forever from gaining heaven! What WILL BE REQUIRED AT OUR HAND? Did any person that I could have help pass thru my life? If I am failing to be obedient and honour HIM,I pray for the Holy Spirit to bring conviction to my heart.

Yes turn the cheek you don’t want to really see the real world. sometimes seeing harsh things makes people realize the issues are not as bad as they thought.

But someone thought it was to much for y’all babies, and probably so this site isn’t really about real issues but a lot of pointless debating.
I'm sorry you feel this way.

and no...you misinterpreted the why behind my disagreement. Notice I quoted your post instead of putting a "disagree" as that was my first thought was to just react negatively.

You provided no context. A random man whom I haven't met witnessed something rather bizarre and committed suicide. There was no context only a picture. Was it because he saw the hopeless state of the world? Was it because he felt tremendous guilt for taking pictures of people that were at that point of desperation while he himself had no issues with hunger? Did he realize this was an unsolvable problem in his travels and that his particular burden could not be solved and his life was meaningless?

It is a jarring picture designed to evoke emotion for world hunger as per the method of that type of photography and yet suicide was your context which doesn't make sense. They are designed to "shock" people. Could post plenty of grisly pictures of suicide...do you think that would help someone? If anything it would cause more desensitization.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems your argument is that people that commit suicide wouldn't if they only knew how bad it is for some...they don't have it that bad, look at this guy? At least he had a good reason? You didn't clarify and graphic images need clarity as to the purpose. I've seen plenty of things dude, the picture doesn't shock me. Yes you can survive in such a fashion, you are risking disease as with urine for dehydration due to the lack of sterility. The photo would make sense in context if the man IN the photo committed suicide...but HE kept trucking on as far as I can glean.

If the discussion were about hunger in the world I would accept the picture as valid to the discussion.

Take it or leave it, I appreciate the post prior about the paralytic.

She should be introduced to anyone who thinks their life is bad, and there is no hope. Such a wonderful lady of God.

This isnt about measuring how bad we think someone may feel about NO HOPE! It's about HOW THEY PERCIEVE THEIR DESPAIR and VIEW THEIR OWN SITUATION!. It's a chance for us to encourage and love one another. We are to bear one another's burdens. What say you ( any) have a family member that is thinking this way, would you like for them to see someone say " Hey,I care" rather than point them to someone worse off .

Idk what you mean about the linking. Try the tech forum.

Bear in mind that quoting a post and stating a disagreement is often more productive in gaining resolution.

1Cor.3:16/17-Know ye not that ye are the temple of God and the Spirit of God dewlleth in you.
1Cor.6:19/20 What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost in you, which ye have of God,and ye are not your own?
A wound that will not heal, a pain that dwells whether awake or sleeping.
Nothing brings relief, there is no place of escape, the driving feeling is just to find relief.

I have known families blighted with this, so bad, nothing seems to bring relief.
One answer is to reduce life to its simplest building blocks, to enjoy like a child the simplest of
experiences. Over time one can build emotional language and appreciation so whatever caused
the over load and collapse is no more.

Our emotions are just that, so equally our fractures, are often driven by miss appreciation of
our lives and the wrong values. Jesus is a good place to start, the cross, the valuing of each
soul by the King to give His life to save us. Now that is healing, that is love, that is value.

God bless you

Suicide never happened because of thinking things are bad, it is because they feel things are bad.
Many very successful people with wealth and a real future are overwhelmed by pain and want to end
things.

Equally some have never been touched by depression or debilitating panic or trauma, so to them it
is just look at this person worse than you, pull yourself together, it is not that bad. If this is how one
thinks, please stay away from those who have serious depression and suicidal thoughts. God bless you

And that is your opinion, but I know to stay away from people who say such things as that.

and say God bless O is that so I don’t know what to say about that, bless you while I beat you over the head

Not sure what you are disagreeing with about.
Unfortunately mental illness is not something many know how to talk about or even admit.
Some feel it is shameful, others that it is scary that we can be out of control of ourselves to the
extent our feelings are in control. They say 25% of everyone will suffer some episodes of instability.
So the reality is out of 4 people here, one has suffered deeply from this.

Speaking of mental illness, I will post an intro. to a 100+ page study from a guy who quit working on his Masters in psychology. He went on to several seminaries where he focused on biblical languages and completed degrees in other fields.

We live in the most ego-enlarged, self-indulged, navel-examined society since the days of Babylon. Millions of people believe psychology holds the secret to happiness, but in reality, the psychological way of dealing with life's problems is merely arrogant preoccupation with one's self.

"Psychology by no means holds the secret of human affairs, simply because this secret is not of a psychological order." (G. Politzer)

It is of a spiritual order.

Do we need greater contact with our 'inner self' or do we need greater contact with God? As "old" values based on the Bible are discarded, and the behavioral "sciences" are called upon to ease the pain of daily living, what happens to the 'frame of reference' and the 'norms and standards' in our souls?

Confusion, that is what happens. This emphasis on having faith in one's self ends up reducing God to a useful servant in our quest for personal goals. This hardly leads to a state of happiness, but it is nevertheless being packaged and sold as such.

Parkinson's Law states that "Work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion." Similarly, "anxiety expands so as to fill the mental space available for its contemplation." This can be stated in a different way: "mental health disorders arise out of spiritual emptiness."

"People are complicated, not because they are disordered, but because life is hard and painful." (M. Parloff)

So rather than consulting psychologists and counselors about our problems, we would do well to head to the nearest mirror and spend a moment or two. For if the pain of facing our personal issues is not dealt with in a short period of time, some form of personality disorder is likely to develop. Personality disorders are a major source of weakness in our soul and are a form of warning that we are about to go over the edge - a clear warning to the believer to wake up, to Repent- confess our sins (privately to God), and to immerse ourselves in Bible doctrine. Many Christians have ignored this spiritual prescription, and have found a home on the psychiatrist's couch and in mental hospitals.

Here is a another quote, from Pastor Ralph Braun at an Austin,Texas Church from years ago;

“Every time you change your priorities, you change your personality. Bible doctrine must become the number one priority in your life. When it is, you will gradually understand the mind of Christ, and be transformed into His image. When you are in fellowship, you will have one personality; when you are out of fellowship, you will have another. That’s part of experiential(learning by doing) sanctification.”

Asked God to kill me many times.
During 15 years of very little sleep.
Worst time was between 2-4 in the morning.

Driving into work I planned where I could turn the steering wheel so no collateral damage.

Even with a wife and four kids.

Severe anxiety, every day.

Benefit of the doubt, How have you experience people who you know have not been touched by depression/trauma yet they tell people hey look at this person worse than you, pull yourself together.

You may have experienced this from someone but even so does a person have to be experienced with depression or panic/trauma to say to hey get up others have it worse it will be ok.

For me the hope of salvation to people who consider suicide does not necessarily work.

The hope of healing from those thoughts and the causes is the hope.
The hope of release from living hell on earth.
After all to them it's hell.

Not killed myself yet.
Am I better.
Yes because I'm still here.
God did not kill me when I asked him and kept me from killing myself.

I came to the conclusion one morning when I woken up.

"Ok I'm still alive and therefore there must be a reason"

That reason I know is to do the good works I have been called to do.

But alas I still have GAD.

But I praise God that he has used me to help others who suffer the same but have been set free.

You make think me wrong here but I will settle for that.
30 years of GAD takes its toll, but for me if I can help someone and see them released I'm happy.

I function that way.
Not just for my family but also for the company that I run.

My sleep is good now.

Still wake up a times at the same time but I doze back.

Then the two dogs wake me up for affection.

On a side note everyone.

Please ask for discernment.

Sometimes a hug and holding someone can speak louder than words
