Why don't you start us off?

Rather than continuing to post Thread after Thread of one line questions, how about actually giving some thoughts of your own in the OP.

I know that other website based in Nashville likes to do things this way, but this ain't that one.

Love, Lighty, Warmth, Enablement and so much more. Would you analyzed the thoughts of God when He is not willing for an aspect to be revealed? We who believe share this Holy Spirit in our peron in our hearts and souls...………..When the Light returns to the Father , so will all who are in It…...

I guess I was sort of of at the point where I didn't know what the Holy Spirit was like (maybe except from my own experience, if I had experiences with Him, which I may not have thought to do when I made this thread, I may have been able to articulate those experiences and what attributes I thought He had if I had thought to do so). I could have gotten attributes from what other sites say, but I asked here. I might not have had the understanding to think of my own experiences with Him (if I had experiences with Him).

Well the very first event is speaking or praying in tongues - and experiencing God with a knowledge of the truth.
God in you and you in God.
Knowledge and revelation about the word of God and of sin and righteousness.
Life transforming miracles and healings.
Praying in tongues with joy.

That is why in Pentecostal churches all the saints have wonderful testimonies to being "born new" by baptism of the Spirit.
Belonging to a church of like experienced disciples where the power of God is made manifest in our lives and our blessings.

15 And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.
16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues;
18 they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands
on the sick, and they will recover.”
19 So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.
20 And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by accompanying signs.
Mark 16:

If God is the architect ,Jesus is the builder and the Holy Spirit the material supplier.
We know He is the Helper, and comforter, and the one to help us walk in holiness.
As far as "like",that would be slightly different for each believer.
Some reject Him.
We all do indirectly when we sin.
There is the grief,or "grieving" of the Holy Spirit.
Those that don't experience that are probably following Jesus mentally.
David said "take not thy Holy Spirit from me."
The Holy Spirit is a bit of a mystery in that He takes no credit or limelight.
He points us to Jesus.
I know when the anointing is on me.
I can definately feel it. It is tangeable.
So with me,He is experienced, but somehow my mind can't process the "like" component.
Its more like power, anointing, and always fixing my being on Jesus.
But forever repenting of my misdeeds, and poor representation of my King, and knowing without the power i can not walk in Holiness,or be much use in the king's business.

"Christ In Us". Spiritual 'enlightenment' of God's presence within ones own self, and knowing
and striving to live by 'principles' set forth by Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit being a
God 'consciousness' of self in harmony with God's will. 'Christ In Us' being of profound
significance that has to be lived. God being of 'spirit' is outside the worldly realm of things.
And, the Holy Spirit within ones own self, it shall be known, for vacant of a regenerated life,
a spiritual life will not be. A renewed life in a spiritual 'awareness' shall be with the indwelling
of the Holy Spirit. A changed life will not be in doubt."

This is a very disturbing comment in so many different ways...…..

I suspect I'll just say a prayer that God works His will in your life and let it go at that

What exactly was disturbing about it, if I may ask? Do you think I was not articulating effectively? I might not have been, maybe I can try again. I could have looked at another site to find what the Holy Spirit is like, or could have spoke of my own experiences with Him if I had thought to do that, I might have just been saved so I might not have been able to do that because I might not have experienced Him before. Or maybe I did, before I was saved? I guess I'm not sure what the right way to look at that is. Scripturally, would you say someone experiences the Holy Spirit before they are saved? Your criticism of me posting threads with one line questions might be undeserved considering where I was when I asked them, which was maybe in a place of little understanding and desperation.

I was once approached by someone on my mail route who tried to convince me that the Holy Spirit is not a person, but merely a force. o_O

Yet the Bible teaches that the Holy Spirit has all the attributes of personality and is not merely an impersonal force. Jesus spoke of the Holy Spirit as “He” and not "it." Jesus also referred to the Holy Spirit as Comforter or Counselor (John 14:16 and 15:26). The Holy Spirit can also be grieved. (Ephesians 4:30)

In addition, the Bible makes it clear that the Holy Spirit is God in essence/nature. In Acts 5:1-4 a man who lied to the Holy Spirit is said to have lied to God. The Holy Spirit is also described in the Bible as having the characteristics of God and doing God’s work. He convicts people of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8-11) and gives new life to those who are born again (John 3:8; 1 Peter 1:23).

The Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Trinity and this is made clear by His inclusion with the Father and the Son in Matthew 28:19. Here the apostles are commanded to baptize disciples “in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

In the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit came upon people, anointing them for specific tasks and purposes (Exodus 31:1-5; Numbers 24:2). In the New Testament, the Holy Spirit dwells in all believers (Ephesians 1:13; 1 Corinthians 6:19), gives believers assurance they are children of God (Romans 8:16) and gifts them for Christian service (1 Corinthians 12).

God has chosen to operate His work from the basis of faith. "The Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus" (Romans 8:2) is God's prescribed order of victory for the Believer over sin, the world, the flesh, and the Devil. This means that the Believer must place and maintain proper Faith the size of a mustard seed exclusively in Christ and the Cross of Calvary, i.e., The Finished Work, i.e., The Blood of Jesus, where the victory was won so that His life would be lived through you. This gives the Holy Spirit the legal means to help and do what is needed to be done in the Believers life because the Believer is glorifying Christ, God's beloved Son in whom He is pleased. You are now operating in the spirit. No Believer can fix the flesh with the flesh. All fruits that are added to the leaves of the Believer most be done by the Holy Spirit or you enter the works of the flesh (Gal. 5:19-21).

The Holy Spirit doesn't require much of us, but He does require one thing, and without reservation. Our Faith must be exclusively be in Christ and the Cross; understanding that this is God's Prescribed Order of Victory (Rom. 8:2).

The Holy Spirit works strictly within the parameters of the "Finished Work" i.e., "The Cross of Christ" i.e., "The Blood of Jesus;" which demands that our Faith be placed and maintained exclusively in the Cross of Christ. The reason is simple, that's were the price was paid, and the victory was forever won (Romans 6:1-14; 1 Cor. 2:2; Gal. 5; Gal. 6:14; Eph. 2:13-18; Col. 2:14-15).

Victory over sin: Romans 8:2
Victory over the world: Galatians 6:14; 1 John 5:4
Victory over the flesh: Galatians 5:24
Victory over the Devil:Hebrews 2:14; Colossians 2:15

The Apostle Paul makes it very clear in Romans 8:10 that the physical body, mind / intellect, and the heart (which is evil - Jeremiah 17:9) has been rendered helpless because of the original sin; consequently, the Believer trying to overcome by willpower presents a fruitless task. Only the Holy Spirit can mortify the deeds of the flesh and make us what we ought to be (Romans 8:13). This means we cannot do it ourselves. Once again, He performs all that He does within the confines of the Finished Work of Christ (Romans 8:2).

If a Christian will and their efforts to live for God is in anything except Christ and the Cross, i.e., Finished Work, The Blood of Jesus (Romans 8:2), Satan can override your will and force you to do things you don't want to do and trying not to do (Ephesians 6:12). Jesus said deny yourself and pick up your cross and follow me (Luke 9:23).

Remember our bodies are dead and useless to God. The heart is prone to wander away from God's love and eat from "The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil." The reason why the body is dead is because of the effects of the fall has made us totally incapable of yielding spiritual obedience on a regular basis (Jeremiah 13:23). So there must be a source outside of myself that helps me to enter into sanctification which is the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:13).

Note: The Believer must repent not just for the bad they are doing, but also for the good they are doing. Why? Because the Believer can depend on the good to get them through (Jer. 6:13-15). Good things will always follow right living. However, that is not God's way. His way is Faith exclusively in Christ and His Finished Work (Rev. 3:17-22).

How does a Believer maintain Faith exclusively in Christ and the Cross? By just believing in Jesus (who He is - John 1:1-14, 29) and what He accomplished at Calvary Cross where the victory was one. Romans 4:5 - Galatians 2:19-21 NKJV - 1 Corinthians 1:18-25 NKJV - Colossians 2:11-15 NKJV

God is not the author of confusion. People in the BDF are.
The Holy Spirit is the Comforter, the Helper, who comes into us - to those who obey the gospel - Acts 5:32
water baptism and baptism of the Holy Spirit go together to the extent that in the epistles it is referred to as one baptism.
The evidence of water baptism is pretty obvious as one is dunked under water and is wet.
The NT also teaches us that God gives a sign or evidence of the Holy Spirit baptism which is speaking (or rather praying) in tongues.
Jesus himself declared this to be - these signs shall follow them that believe ... they shall speak in new tongues.

The baptism of the Holy Spirit gives a convert an immediate God consciousness and opens our eyes to understanding scripture.
Then also there are the miracles and healings and living with the power of God manifested in our new lives.

For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
Romans 14:17
For the kingdom of God does not consist in talk but in power.
1Corinthians 4:20
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance
all that I have said to you.
John 14:26

1. He is the Spirit of truth (John 14:17; 15:26; 16:13; 1 John 4:6). As such He guides us into all truth and seeks to keep us from error.

2. He is the Spirit of holiness (Rom. 1:4). As such He separates us unto God from all that is anti-God.

3. He is the Spirit of life in Christ (Rom. 8:2). As such He imparts life to those who depend on Him to keep us from the deadness of the flesh, both irreligious flesh and religious flesh.

4. He is the Spirit of adoption (Rom. 8:15). As such when we are born again as babes in Christ, He also adopts us in as mature sons with all the access rights to our inheritance in Christ.

5. He is the Spirit of faith (2 Cor. 4:13). As such when we look unto Jesus through the Word, He authors faith in our hearts by convincing us of the reality of truth so that we might exercise faith.

6. He is the Spirit of promise (Eph. 1:13). As such He seals us unto the day of redemption, moving into and joining our regenerated spirits, promising there is more to come.

7. He is the Spirit of wisdom (Eph. 1:17). As such He imparts to us discernment and skill to apply biblical knowledge to real life.

8. He is the Spirit of revelation in the knowledge of God (Eph. 1:17). As such He reveals to us the person of God to enhance our relationship with God and keep us from ritualism.

9. He is the Spirit of power (2 Tim. 1:7). As such He imparts divine ability because spiritual ministry demands spiritual energy.

10. He is the Spirit of love (2 Tim. 1:7). As such He imparts supernatural love that would otherwise not be experienced.

11. He is the Spirit of a sound mind (2 Tim. 1:7). As such He keeps us stable and free from instability and vacillation.

I didn't comprise the list, but I like to stick with scripture

It might seem rude for me to ask you this, but what do you mean by "He is the Spirit of Christ"?
