The founding fathers did not want a democracy because democracy does not work.
Also they didn't want the poor majority overruling the rich minority. They forgot what they rebelled against, when they came into power.

Sooner or later if not treated fairly the working class always rise against the rulers. That's part of what got Trump elected. The blue collar workers couldn't stand the status quo any more and Trump was a wild card and desperate people are the most likely to take a risk.

Now the majority of the media is demonized by the ruling class and the hacks at Breitbart and Fox are being lifted up as the voices of reason.

You have interesting ideas Mr. Bob.;)

I think the evangelicals helped put Trump in office, being about 26% of the electorate, the working class tends to vote Democrat.

The evangelical vote cuts across socioeconomic status and around 80% voted for Trump in 2016.

The Jews chose Barabbas too. False messiahs come and go. Only Jesus remains true.

You know, democracy, were two wolves and one sheep vote on what’s for dinner.
Exactly, the "founding fathers' had done their research and saw how democracies devolved into a concentrated area of power/tyranny.

Since then, the Democrat party has mastered the divide and conquer technique with regards to identity politics. Now I know full well that the GOP is not angelic but at least at present time they are not full blown domestic enemies of the constitution.

I would agree here, the constitution and the rule of law is the over arching factor.

The problem is and has always been the credibility of the candidate.

The constitution says "all men are created equal".

So if you support that, you support one person one vote.

Cant have it both ways.

Are you advocating mob rule?

Our constitution created a republic not a democracy. The electoral college is to neutralize the effect of mob rule.

Fellow veteran here. Problem is, until Trump became President, not enough people were defending the Constitution against domestic enemies, especially those of the previous administration.
I fully concur with your estimation. Obama despised the military. Now there is a president that loves and respects the military and their veterans.

But the electoral college is easily bypassed with gerrymandering.

Who cares what your view is. Amazing how many NON American citizens feel the need to butt into our elections!

And just because we are a superpower, that affects many global issues, doesn't give you a voice either.
Yes, it does.

My best friend is Iranian. I am a European. Trump wants to war with Iran, and see the dissolution of the EU. It definitely gives me a voice.

Some crazy guy says Israel loves Trump like he's the second coming of God.
Trump being the narcissist that he is thought that was awesome and retweeted it
Then he looked at the sky and says I am the chosen one.
Not only is this hinting at bat poop craziness but it is also flirting with blasphemy

Backing an independent is throwing away a vote. Same as my home country. We have several parties and only conservative or liberal has ever won. Vast majority will vote one or the other.

I find it quite funny that overnight Trump became such a horrible person. Clintons attended his wedding. As did Heidi Klum, Shaq, Simon Cowell, Kelly Ripa, Regis Philbin just to name a few. You can Google celebs that have visited Mar-a-Lago. And not one of them mentioned him being a racist, homophobic ,Islamophobic, xenophobic, sexist, Nazi, fascist, did I miss any that the left now calls him? None of these people saw him in that light UNTIL he ran as a Republican. So are they all hypocrites?! Yeah, yeah they are. Celebs were beating down the door to get on his tv show. It's pathetic. So here's my take. If he was a good enough guy for the Clintons and all these other celebs to want to rub shoulders with him, he's good enough to be president. The rest of it is hot air. I tune it out. Pure hypocrisy.
Boring. Nobody cares what celebrities visited his house. It is his comments and demeanour that make him nasty as racist.

What!!??

We gotta institute some type of test of basic civic knowledge to vote! lol

How do you gerrymander states!? Do you know what that word means?
