Hurricane Dorian strengthens to Category 3, forecast to strike Florida as Category 4: Live updates originally appeared on abcnews.go.com
Hurricane Dorian strengthened Friday afternoon to a Category 3 storm with 115 mph winds as Floridians brace for the extremely dangerous storm to hit.
Dorian is forecast to make landfall along Florida's east coast overnight into Tuesday as a Category 4 storm.
Forecast to approach Florida with winds of 140 mph, Dorian, should it make landfall at those wind speeds, would become just the ninth hurricane to do so, dating back to 1851.

Thanks pr, for being so sensitive to those of us who live here in Florida -
most have no words of kindness or concern,
You, on the other hand have a very sweet Spirit of Love and Concern -
we both greatly appreciate your precious heart!!!

Are you two going to be ok?

I’m here by myself but not fearful.

Thank you for your prayers and concern my friend. Currently we are planning to hunker down, yet again. Alabama will probably be impacted too so you stay safe as well.

Last report offered a TINY bit of hope that the storm may NOT make a direct hit and tear across Florida like Andrew did in 1992. They are still not sure, but it may skirt the coast and head north.

Definitely need to offer prayers.

My Refuge and My Fortress

Psa 91:1 A Davidic Psalm. The one who lives in the shelter of the Most High, who rests in the shadow of the Almighty,

Psa 91:2 will say to the LORD, "You are my refuge, my fortress, and my God in whom I trust!"

Psa 91:3 He will surely deliver you from the hunter's snare and from the destructive plague.

Psa 91:4 With his feathers he will cover you, under his wings you will find safety. His truth is your shield and armor.

Psa 91:5 You need not fear terror that stalks in the night, the arrow that flies in the day,

Psa 91:6 plague that strikes in the darkness, or calamity that destroys at noon.

Psa 91:7 If a thousand fall at your side or ten thousand at your right hand, it will not overcome you.

Psa 91:8 Only observe it with your eyes, and you will see how the wicked are paid back.

Psa 91:9 "LORD, you are my refuge!" Because you chose the Most High as your dwelling place,

Psa 91:10 no evil will fall upon you, and no affliction will approach your tent,

Psa 91:11 for he will command his angels to protect you in all your ways.

Psa 91:12 With their hands they will lift you up so you will not trip over a stone.

Psa 91:13 You will stomp on lions and snakes; you will trample young lions and serpents.

Psa 91:14 Because he has focused his love on me, I will deliver him. I will protect him because he knows my name.

Psa 91:15 When he calls out to me, I will answer him. I will be with him in his distress. I will deliver him, and I will honor him.

Psa 91:16 I will satisfy him with long life; I will show him my deliverance.

I have been living in Florida since September of 1979. So many storms/hurricanes in the years and this is one main reason I want to move to Tennessee. I would say since 2000 about half of the Labor Day weekends we have dealt with a hurricane so I never really plan to do anything for that particular holiday...

I don't worry about these storms as I pray and leave it in God's hands. There will come a day when I die and if it is by a storm then so be it. God is in control and I rest in Him.

Thank you for your concern dear friend and we prepare about as much as we can. Tourist and I will have each other and God has us our daughter will ride this storm out with us as she is living with us at the moment and will go to TN with us when the time comes.

Latest reports show it may well turn hard North and skirt much of the Florida coast which means guys on the Gulf side will get rain and some wind, but be spared the full effects of such a powerful storm.

As it progresses, so must our prayers for our friends and all the folks in the path of Dorian. Now Georgia and the Carolinas are preparing, and we have friends and family there as well...…. God bless and keep you all

Dorian appears to be stalled over the Bahamas, and much damage is being done there. Last I heard, 5 lives have been lost, and no count of the injured. As well, it still remains a serious threat for America, so we must be steadfast in our prayers for Gods protection.

Psalm, Chapter 46:

1 (To the chief Musician for the sons of Korah, A Song upon Alamoth.) God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

As Dorian fades into memories, we are left with the aftermath. The destruction in the Bahamas is massive. Loss of life, injuries, lives forever changed, property damage, infrastructure damage...…..goodness.

The damage here in the U.S. to be determined, but it too will be tragic.

Prayers now for those whose lives have forever been altered because of this storm.

I pray that God will use this tragedy as an opportunity to manifest Himself in their lives, and let them know just how much they need HIM!

It skipped FL and hit us here in NC. Three people in my area died. Lots of damage. Please continue to keep us and the people of the Bahamas in your prayers.
