Love is not just a shallow ooey gooey expression of sentiment. Emotions are not our enemies. Love taken lightly, superficially, is a shame, and harmful emotions that grieve the spirit are the culprits. We must pick from the fruit of the spirit that leaves healthy emotions..

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
Galatians 5:22‭-‬23 NASB

By all means, we should lavish love on others, respecting their boundaries of course.

Say good morning with a smile and care in your heart. Greet strangers, play and teach children, listen with patience and interest to the lonely elderly lady, moving slowly in front of you. You see someone who you can not give much, give little, with all your heart. Only so much time in the day, make the moments of giving, the best part of your day. Someone cuts you off in traffic or in some other offensive way, it is ok. We all stumble along the way. Forgive their human error, and pray for their well-being today. Folks begging for food, have so very little, rather than look away in disgust or pity, look with mercy, Give a little with your great loving heart He has given you.

There is need everywhere and hope is what we can offer. He calls us to love, to show it and to walk in it. I remind myself and you my beloved family in Him...as we appeal to the cause of God in our testimony and witness, let our actions of paying His love and mercy forward be heard even more.

In my opinion, sentiment is blessing, when it is sincere and respectful, and followed through with heart felt actions. I would also take out great loving to just loving. Any greatness in us belongs to Him.
