I have an australian shepherd who enjoys italian food too. But he enjoys anything that doesn't bite him back.

If you know any german shepherds or yorkshire terriers, let me know what their opinion is on italian food. I can't offhand think of any italian dog breeds though...

Humm trying to recall if my GS likes Italian... she thinks the mail man is tasty, and I don't think he's Italian :p

I created this thread to give conservative Christian singles a place to find likeminded brothers and sisters in Christ for friendship and fellowship.

By "conservative" I mean devout in one's adherence to the doctrines of the New Testament (not to various denominational practices or traditions, and not to the laws or traditions of Judaism, or of Roman Catholicism, Mormonism, or Seventh Day Adventism).

"Conservative Christian", as used here, also does not refer to any political identity group. It simply means following the collective teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ and of His apostles as closely as one knows to do by his or her God-given understanding, in pursuit of true holiness and godliness and a life pleasing and honoring to God.

This is intended to be a friendly, godly, and loving place for believers to meet, so kindly refrain from using it to quarrel over doctrines or traditions or interpretations of Scripture, or for promoting/recruiting for a particular movement or a sect.

Discussions of beliefs and civil disagreement is fine; quarreling is not.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation in making this thread a success and a blessing.

Jesus continuously quoted from the Old Testament, kept the law, and fulfilled the law. To be like Christ is to keep the law.
Keep in mind that Jesus kept the law because He was under the law.

(Please understand the context.)

The mosaic law was "in effect" until Jesus died on the cross. When the veil was rent (Mark 15:38), it marked the end of the law as being necessary for/in the "practice" of faith. (Colossians 2:14)

Gary, thanks for responding. This topic your bringing up is outside the realm of the thread, it's best suited for a new thread. We can agree to disagree? I can't resist though.

The two verses you listed says, nothing about the law ending. Does it?

Colossians:
14 having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.

Mark 15:38
The curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.

Let's take a quick look at what Jesus said....

Mathew 5:17
“Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.

Would this verse indicate that the Law or the Prophets has ended?

What does the Law say?

Exodus 20:8
8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

Why would God write on stone the word "Remember", put it in a golden box, put the box in the Holy of Holies, that is inside God's Temple, on God's Temple Mount? So we can forget it? I say, it would be wise to remember!

Mathew 5:18-19
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

19 Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

No - I was not wanting to start a discussion - just making a food-for-thought kind of statement based on an observation.

He was born a Jew - which meant He was "under the law" like any other Jew. His perfect obedience of the law was what fulfilled the law. (Together with the fulfillment of prophecy.)

Regarding food for thought, I have a theory.

Mark 15:38

The curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.

My personal opinion on why the temple curtain was torn, it's because God was grieved to see HIS only Son die. Just like when Jacob thought his son died. This was a custom in Biblical times for great pain.

Genesis 37:34. With that Jacob ripped his garments apart and put sackcloth around his waist and mourned his son for many days.

I personally think we still need Jesus to return to fulfill the remaining prophecies/Laws.
