Could I please ask for your prayers.
I’m starting to get on in age 😱 and just recently I’ve been realising my ability to ‘love’ people isn’t really where it should be as a Christian.
I have a good, decent family and we all get along pretty well but I struggle to show/voice any love and appreciation for them.

It’s the same with my relationships. I’d love to find someone, settle down and start a family, but I don’t seem to have the ability to develop TRUE feelings (and show it). I seem to hold back from putting in 100%.... not consciously chosen but I am aware of it.
If the relationship is over then I never feel that bothered and am always wanting to move on and meet someone else.

You might not have this ability to love but that is something that God can develop within you. You may also need to develop your sense of loss, especially in regards to a one on one intimate romantic relationship. It is hard to miss and appreciate what you might have had if you are incapable of feeling a sense of loss of what might have been.

Your ability to love people is probably on par with most Christians, including myself. I do believe that it is a spiritually important prerequisite that you learn to love yourself first. I will say a prayer for this for you so that you can love your neighbor as yourself and also to have love in your heart given to you by God to share with that special one of your heart's desire.

Maybe you feel like you should move on and meet someone else because you need to move on and meet someone else.
Maybe you're fine.

Overall, you should talk to your pastor about this, or someone you're close to who knows you really well.
Someone who knows you really well is in a much better position to know if you're acting perfectly normal, of if you're acting weird.

If you're feeling lonely or insecure, you might just be worrying too much, and second guessing everything you think and do.
You should start by talking to someone who knows you well.
