In case you have not heard or seen this, Benny Hinn has confessed and repented and rebuked the "Prosperity Gospel...……..

Do you think he is being honest or did he get saved??????

What he said is what a lot of preachers have been saying for a long time.

2 Peter 2:3 ...
'And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you.'

Well...

He never said he was repentent enough to RETURN all those millions of dollars he scammed people out of.

In fact, he never really admitted to scamming people at all, he just said he'd made some "doctrinal changes."

I feel confident that a bit of time will clear things up, one way or the other.

I watched this video on another Christian forum and what amazed me was the reaction of the crowd... Theses followers of benny hind have been following his prosperity preaching for years cheering him along all the way.. But in the video when hind renounces prosperity doctrine cheers and affirmations of approval ring out from the crowd.. The same crowd that has been cheering and afirming the cargo cult doctrine of prosperity for years.. I was expecting gasps of surprise, tears and people in a state of mental crisis.. But no.. Cheers and afirmations 100% support..

I wonder if such people would simply cheer anything benny hinn declares as the truth no matter what he says.. It just reveals to me that these people are followers of a man and not followers of the Word of God.. They simply support anything benny hinn says, no matter what hinn says..

It really just sounds to me like a con man changing over to a different tactic.
If you've been conning old ladies out of their pension money for decades... it would seem you'd be a bit more broken up about it.

But without any doubt, time will surely tell.

I remember the Jim Baker era. He also supposedly confessed and repented, in jail. He’s back on TV. Sounds kinda like he did before he went to jail.

Some folks learn, some are real stubborn.

Years ago Hinn supposedly turned away from all this. And it's said for a while he actually changed his teachings. But he began sliding back into his usual tactics and has been there firmly ever since. If he's claiming to have changed again i'd be leery. He pulled this once before.

Has he made restitution and refunded all the cash that he should never have received? Zacchaeus should be his example now.

I hope so. I'm not his judge, the Lord God almighty is. I do sincerely hope he has repented.

Todd may be right, and many times he is right about a subject, yet wrong in his, pompous, delivery of the message.

I've known of it for a few days
I knew eventually the Pharisees would be all over it.
We can always depend on them to hover over anything positive or negative and produce the appropriate vomit to smear on the body of Christ.

I don't agree with Friel on many things, though I think his assessment of Hinn's "confession" is spot-on.

Loco,
I think we should all be joyous whenever a sinner repents.
We should be nothing but happy.
We should be happy, and joyous, and ready to welcome the person with open arms.... regardless of their past.

We should pray for this repentance in others, and hope for it, and long for it.
We should desire, not the destruction of the lost or the wicked, but their conversion.
We should desire this with all our hearts.
And we should be fully joyous when repentance occurs.

However, I just cannot see that this is the scenario we're dealing with here.
The scenario in front of us seems to be the exact opposite of repentance.
There are many things he said in this video, many little things I haven't pointed out yet or addressed, that would all seem to clearly indicate the very opposite of repentance.

There is a lot of subtlety, and a lot of oddness, in all of the particular things he said.
It's all extremely odd.
If I went through the video sentence by sentence, and pointed out all of the discrepancies, and holes, and bizarre psychology, and extreme subtlety of language, and even the subtle shiftings of culpability from himself onto others... I'm afraid it would leave little doubt.
This wasn't a confession of genuine repentance.
This was a very careful, very contrived, and very skillful message, by a master orator, who has been deceiving the flock for a very long time.

Whenever there is real repentance, we should be joyful, and welcome the person with open arms.
We should let go of their past, just as Christ has.

But I am, unfortunately, fully convinced this is not the particular case before us.

God Bless
..

Fair enough.
And I did use the word hope. Because I truly do hope so.
We will see soon enough that's for sure.

Kind of an interesting sidebar here,
There was a mega church pastor in California, who also taught this prosperity mess. He repented and changed his tune, split up his megachurch into 30 separate churches, and has truly forsaken the prosperity message.

Benny Hinn's nephew, Costi Hinn, is now an evangelical pastor and has been criticizing his uncle.

it could be that Benny is responding to this rebuke.

Costi Hinn has authored two books (one released within the last few months) on the deception of the Healh, Wealth, and Prosperity gospel.

Here are the links:

Many are skeptical, including Justin Peters, but it is a very real possibility that God has dealt with Benny Hinn. If so, let's give God the glory due to him for correcting him. We will see what happens, though.

If I were him, I would give back the funds that he obtained through nefarious means. Zacchaeus, the wee little man, did this when he came to faith.

PK is speaking from 'fear', just listen to the shaking of her voice while advocating the 'prosperity-gospel'!!!

Christ preached the Gospel of the Kingdom, and that is what we are to preach...

Mary, His Mother had to 'offer the poor-man's offering', because, they could not afford the regular 'offering'...

James tells us
2:5.
Hearken, my beloved brethren, Has not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith,
and heirs of The Kingdom which He hath promised to them that LOVE Him?
