White Privilege is murdering a man in his own home while he's sitting on the couch eating ice cream and only getting 10 years for it
Had the roles been reversed, that man would have spent the rest of his life in prison

of emotions intimidated by different circumstances and surroundings. Expect the unexpected
in a restless unpredictable world. We are living in a world of unthinkable 'events'."

The judge being black told the jury to consider a 5 to 20 years sentence. So obviously the evidence provided to them was enough to put doubt in their minds.

Just shows how much people point to race on the outside looking in but fail to see the compassion and forgiveness done by two opposite races on the inside of the courtroom.

Her story just doesn't add up
His apartment was one floor up from her so she didn't notice walking up an extra flight of stairs?
She didn't notice the bright red floor mat that's not at her apartment?
The fact that they had dated in the past
So let's play her story is true.
You walk into what you think is your apartment and see one of your romantic Partners sitting on the couch eating ice cream, no reasonable person is going to open fire immediately.
This sounds like premeditated murder to me
Let a black man kill a white cop and Watch What Happens. He's going to spend the rest of his life in prison

I agree sounds off but their is no evidence of racial bias. Maybe poor judgment. So really people who are spreading this are people who want to spread divide and hate.

People should look at the example within. What kind of love that brother had to forgive his enemy and love her enough to be solely worried about her soul.

The jury was presented with a manslaughter option and they decided to go ahead and convict for murder
5 to 20 for murdering an innocent man in his own home is not a proportionate sentence especially when you consider the fact that if the roles were reversed he would probably spend the rest of his life in prison

And for the judge to hug her after the trial and even give the convicted her own personal Bible was highly inappropriate
There's clearly raises the question of bias
I'm trying to wrap my mind around murdering an innocent man in his own home but somehow being treated like she's the victim

What you fail to mention @Dude653 is that the jury (not the judge) decided both the guilty verdict and the sentence unanimously.
That jury would not have been a defense attorney's dream team since it was made up of 5 blacks, 5 asian/hispanics and only two whites with a white defendant.

Oh yeah, as to the judge's theoretical bias, she was black also and made her gesture only after the victim's brother walked across the courtroom, verbally forgave the defendant, and gave her a hug.
Everything I've seen in the local news is that those closest to the victim (family and church members) were content with the outcome so it seems that the only outrage about the verdict and sentence is from those who have no prevailing reason to be outraged.

None of this makes any sense. I have work plenty of 13 hour shift and it doesn't make me forget where I live
And even if she did really think it was her apartment, how was your immediate reaction to open fire especially when the two knew each other and had even dated in the past
I think this goes back to police training. Police are trained to react as if they're on the streets of Mogadishu
Whereas military actually trains their personnel when and when not to use deadly force
Also an innocent man was murdered in his own apartment so can we stop coddling Her Like She's the victim here?

Jury did its job but I'm curious. Why does hugging and sharing the Gospel make her bias? She wasn't the victim. She was sentenced guilty.

Facts are facts until proven otherwise. This is the only way to judge. All the extra speculations shouldnt cloud judgment because they haven't been proven. Yhe only information they had was basically the shooters testimony. Is it reasonable that after working long hours that your brain may be sluggish?

Yes it is medically reasonable Mental fatigue may manifest in different ways for each person. Difficulty concentrating and solving problems, anxiety, irritability with co-workers and loss of passion for work are potential symptoms of mental fatigue. Other symptoms include sleeplessness and confusion or frustration triggered by problem-solving tasks like simple math.

Technically by the testimony she saw a black (shadowy) outline of a person.

And no I did training with police officers. They teach use of force also. The Judiciary system works off of a standard called

Beyond a reasonable doubt is the highest standard of proof that must be met in any trial. In civil litigation, the standard of proof is either proof by a preponderance of the evidence or proof by clear and convincing evidence. These are lower burdens of proof. A preponderance of the evidence simply means that one side has more evidence in its favor than the other, even by the smallest degree.

Clear and Convincing Proof is evidence that establishes a high probability that the fact sought to be proved is true. The main reason that the high proof standard of reasonable doubt is used in criminal trials is that such proceedings can result in the deprivation of a defendant's liberty or even in his or her death. These outcomes are far more severe than in civil trials, in which money damages are the common remedy.

Because of vagueness of evidence this leads to doubt on if she murdered him by malice or premeditated. As to why the judge and jury responded the way they did.

Looking at the only known evidence the judge and jury did a good job.

The Freedom from Religion Foundation filed a complaint with the Texas State Commission on Judicial Conduct on Thursday, saying it was inappropriate for Kemp to give Guyger the Bible and read a passage from it.

Another group called the First Liberty Institute issued a statement against the complaint stating that the complainant is protesting rather than joining the rest of the nation celebrating compassion and mercy.

https://www.fox5atlanta.com/news/fr...inst-judge-after-giving-bible-to-amber-guyger

I doubt this will go further than just a complaint but it is always fun to watch First Liberty to attack back. If you study the Constitution and Bill of rights then you would know nothing she did was illegal. She swears in a Bible in which was designed to indicate to use proper judgment exemplified through God in the scriptures.

What verse in scripture would cause a Christian to be bias or judge unrightiously? In fact our founders wouldn't even let atheist be judges. Our laws prevent the making of laws to force religion but definitely doesn't restrict the individuals conscious beliefs while in office as long as it follows the laws of the land like jihad by explosion wouldn't be allowed.

So she was sentenced to 10 years. Up for parole in five which she will no doubt get. So this man's life is only worth five years. This is not Justice

Was it justice for a innocent man to die in your place for your sins?

If you have evidence that proves beyond reasonable doubt that the shooting wasn't a accident then the best just scenario without assuming guilt is a accident in which the jury felt. We dont lock people up for most vehicle accidents if someone dies in less they was doing something illegal. But a accident doesn't typically carry a prison sentence.

So in reality she did get more than expected. Most people thought she would walk free.

I don't think a car accident and shooting an unarmed man while he's sitting on his own couch eating ice cream are comparable

If you look at the facts given the woman couldn't see who the man was or what he was doing. Those facts you mentioned came out after the incident.

Beautiful actions by the judge and brother. We all could learn from them.

They lead Witness was murdered a couple days ago
Something tells me this isn't a coincidence
He was also to be the lead Witness in a civil lawsuit against the police department

Until that something is evidence then we as Christians shouldn't even spread false information until proven. All you have without the bias is the fact a lead witness was murdered. This is how actual truthfulness is shared. This is how the media should be. Leave out the bias and just state the facts until more information is released. Then update the information. If the updated information makes someone look guilty then you are just letting the facts speak for themselves.

We are all news media by every social network we post or share information on.

The country in a uproar calling racist bias but yet inside the court room things looked much different. A democratic judge and the victim's brother showed great compassion and forgiveness with the courtroom filled with tears.
Strange...would it be the same if she was black? Or if it was a black man?
