My name is Markus and I'm here for fellowship. Unfortunately, this has never been an easy thing for me attain, thus my walk with Yeshua has been a very solitary one for the most part. I've been saved most of my life, but experienced something of a spiritual renaissance in 2006 which changed everything. As I've observed, there are very colourful/interesting members here and I hope to get to know you all better :)

Hey Markus! Great to see that you have joined us on here!!
Don't despair...I'm a solitary person for many reasons. I don't feel the need to have people around me all the time, though life can get a wee bit lonely at times. You're in the right place if you want interesting & controversial discussions!!
Excuse my ignorance, but what does 'Shalom aleikhem' mean?
I hope we can have some interesting chats in the future.
Cheers! :)

Fellowship and Discipleship are crucial to a Christians walk. A walk in solitude doesn't allow debate or counter edification so it can be very dangerous to walk alone in separation from the church or other believers. This is how we often grow in understanding. Welcome and thanks for the comment on my post.

Hi Tasha, I'm quite the introvert myself, but I do find that I want some Christian companionship. "Shalom aleikhem" (שלום עליכם) means "peace be with you".

This is very true. Whilst sticking to the Bible hasn't been as difficult - I've had my disciplining, dealing with the travails of life etc alone can be very daunting. The support of another believer does make a tremendous difference. I live in a very atheistic country, and in a very "progressive" town. What churches that are available have proven to be rather disappointing to say the least. As Christianity fades away from the Western world it becomes increasingly difficult to find. In America there are still true Bible based believers, so it'll be somewhat easier. It has come to the point where it can be unsafe to profess one's faith, to the point of jeopardising one's career, even physical violence. We truly are being driven out of society.

That's lovely - is it used when saying hi and goodbye?
My Aussie greeting to you is:
'G'day mate, how's it goin?' which then leads up to a whole convo (conversation) about anything & everything!
Not as lyrical I know lol ! ')

Hi Tabin, very much appreciated. Strictly speaking, I am half-Jewish, half-German. I don the Israeli flag though, as that is the more prominent part of my upbringing. Israel certainly is a very beautiful country, England is also very nice. The locals can complain about the weather but I don't think it's that bad :giggle:

I have a few Aussie friends, I've found a few slang terms and accents slipping into my own speech! I love their sense of humour. I definitely have to visit Australia at some point. Big day for the Wallabies in the World Cup too. You can say it as a parting phrase.

Do you get American Family Radio where you live? I'm from south Georgia and God is still very much a strong belief down here. If you do not know check out their website to see or download their App. They have programs on all throughout the day talking about all things Biblical and are connected to Christians all over the country. You will begin to realize your not as alone as you feel. Their is still a great number out there all around. Some just as you who are silent due to their surroundings.

As you get connected to the sites and programs they will also share all things news related to the faith. All the religious victories or rising battles.

Hello Markus.
Allow me to add in my Welcome to you to Christian Chat!
I wish we were all together, Christian's that is. But I believe that God placed us where he does. And that wherever he places us, he can use us to shine his light through in the darkness for others to see. So, take heart. Those that God may have plans to know him, the light may shine brighter though you in the deeper darkness of all the non belief that you find yourself in. And, you have us, so if you ever need reminders that you are not alone in this world (none of us ever are with the Father, Son and The Holy Spirit), just reach out here and let us know, be happy to remind you you are not🤗. May God bless you with peace among fellow believers, wisdom, courage and many hours of friendships and hope.

Shalom aleikhem

From your other comment, I didn't know it was that bad over there re Christianity. Maybe there's an 'underground' group there?
I hang out in different forums, when I can, usually here, Misc, Singles, and Prayer Req Forums. I'm half Jewish also. See you around:).

Perhaps fellowship will be easier for you on this excellent Christian site. One's spiritual walk is at times indeed lonely one. Absolutely, there are colorful interesting members here for you to get to know and for them to know you. Glad to have you as part of our community. Welcome to CC.
