I respect your views and only want the best for Canada, but make no mistake, Trump is the greatest President since Abraham Lincoln, if not ever. Look what he’s up against. On a side note, where did you live in NJ?
I think its possible for one to say "best" and for someone else to say "worst".....it all depends on each individual's priorities.

In some cases I like what Trump has done, I like he canceled the Trans Pacific trade deal and I have no issue with him using tarrifs to protect American industry, I was never in favour of free trade agreements. I also like his recent order allowing Christians and others of faith to adopt/foster vulnerable children. Under Obama orginizations that did not espouse a big L liberal view on matters like sexuality...they were shut out from adopting/fostering.

What I don't like about Trump is his near constant use of adhominem attacks.....when someone criticizes something like his immigration policies, rather than defending his views, or criticizing the opinions of his opponents, instead he engages in meaningless personal attacks....'so and so is the worst senator/congressman/director ever'.

As for where in New Jersey....from kindergarten to grade 4 I lived in a small town called Glen Rock in Bergen County.

I am so grateful I got out of Canada before it turned into a Totalitarian state and became full of snowflakes.
You and me together. I hear horrible things from my family at home.

As I recall not that long ago a street preacher in Toronto was arrested because he called Homosexuality a moral sin against God.
I wonder when they'll outlaw Bibles being sold there because the scriptures identify sins specifically. Including in so many words, Transgenders, and of course Homosexuality.
Note, not Homosexuals, but the sin of Homosexuality. Just as it identifies the sin of Transgender but not the individual Tranny.
Amazing times we live in sister. Amazing times.

He was actually arrested for disturbing the peace, however he was preaching about sin in the gay district of Toronto.

Is that a No Go Zone?
I am sure he had been there before as he travels all around Toronto, but there was a homosexual police officer on duty who took issue with Pastor David Lynn presence and message, he did not state anything hateful, he stated Jesus died for sinners, so he nailed him on disturbing the peace.

So far as I know the Crown Attorney has not dropped the charges.. and the media spin shameful!

I'd hope someone brings up the issue with the officer in that case. Police are suppose to be indifferent to politics of those they're policing so as to police in a fair and equal manner all whom they come across.
It's a hot topic now. Conservatism vs. what was formerly considered illegal , immoral, and particularly when it is against any religions God.
I wonder if that officer would have behaved the same way if this man was an Imam in Islam and saying the same things as pertains to the Koran's scripture?

You have to remember that "Freedom of Speech" in Canada is not the same as here in the US since it is not clearly codified in their constitution in the same manner.

Canada over the years has passed laws against "hate speech" which of course over the years, what is considered to be hate speech changes. There is a boat load of things you can freely say here in the US that would get you arrested in Canada or the UK under their hate speech laws (up to and including speaking out against Homosexuality in a scriptural context).

See, I knew I got out of there in time. ;)
That's really too bad. Especially when I've met some folks that would be OK if we were much the same.

I wonder what the number of Canadians emigrating to the U.S. since those laws started going into effect would be to date?

That's an interesting question.....it seems Christiantity and the Bible are fair game these days, while other religions and adherents....different rules apply. I do understand it I think, even though I don't agree.....

I believe its because Muslims are viewed as a minority, so they're free to trample on the left's sacred principles, but Christians are not afforded the same rights because we are not viewed as a minority...even though in today's secular world we clearly are.

In some ways yes, however in the institution I work for in Canada, hegemony of all religions is very much what is being promoted..... I think we will see this more and more.

I would suggest the Christians there pray this does not occur. :( I shall for their benefit as I live in America and have encountered those who are of that mind set here. Especially as pertains to their hope our 1st amendment is revised, soon.
Of course, if that revision were said to occur but not in their ideology's best interest, they'd be strongly opposed.
Amazing what human ego's can manufacture as, "right", for themselves, as long as it benefits themselves.
And these would be Christians to whom I refer. Those who are suppose to put the flesh in proper context as one reborn in the spirit.

I live in what is very much 'small town' Canada....population of less than 15,000, and its not as bad as some make out....I grew up in the US, spending most of youth in NYC, NJ and OR up until the age of 12, and just visited NJ this past summer. There's not a lot of difference really....the so called "progressives" are as influential in Canada as in the States.

I would not doubt Progressive politics crosses the border.

In the States there's a group known as the Southern Poverty Law Center. They're considered a hate group by many Conservatives due to their efforts against Conservative politics and issues. Even going so far as to unofficially claim the Bible is hate speech due to its so called clobber verses. Verses that condemn as sin immoral acts.
This article is from 2018.
This Conservative Idea is Hate Speech According to Southern Poverty Law Center

We have something called the 'Ontario Coalition Against Poverty'....as if there's a coalition in favor of poverty. Its similar in ideology....there is so much virtue signalling, but a lot of it I don't find virtuous.

The Bible speaks of a strong delusion. If there ever was a time, this is it. Dems only believe in science when it agrees with their narritive.
