Hi,
I am recently back to Christianity and I notice I don't have a lot friends. Even the friends I do have are from the faith I used to participate in and then they are married. I am not actively looking for marriage, but I would love to meet some friends (males and females). I feel like my whole life is consumed with work, the life of my mom and teenage son and of course church. It would be nice to have a little life for myself to do something nice that doesn't consist of my mom, son, and work all the time.

Any ideas?

Perhaps what you really need is one good friend that will become your best friend. Christians are in all walks of life outside of church. You can probably get of good idea of whether or not a person is a Christian just by observing how he or she conducts their self. These are the ones that you might consider striking up a conversation with. Glad to have you onboard with us. Welcome to CC.

The ways I meet other Christians are by volunteering services at the church or other orgs, going to or starting a Bible study for men and women and/or getting online and see if there is anything going on in your area to get involved with within reason. I pray God blesses you in this matter.

When I was saved, God filtered my friends lol He pretty much took away my friends who He knew were not going to be positive Christian role models for me, and He replaced them with people who were strong in their faith and would help guide me in my walk with Christ.

What I’m trying to say is, ask God and be particular, even ask Him to bring people to you who would be strong Christian influencers.

That will be my prayer for you sis ❤️

So yeah... it's hard to make friends. I have no idea how to do it. But if you have a lot of friends, you have to sink a lot of time and effort into maintaining all those connections.

I think the first advice you got, from tourist, will be your best bet.

I think it is great that you are being active in looking for friends. In life we can either wait to see what happens, and just react or we can choose to take action. I've had a number of times in my life where either through me moving or friends moving etc. that I find myself a little lonely. I start to look around and decide who I want to get to know better. I talk to them more, invite them to go for coffee and then plan an event with other friends. It takes a bit of work and it has varying degrees of success but the close friends I have right now came from me taking initiative. I find that the things I focus on and pray about have a way of unfolding in a positive way. God is also answering your prayers by taking certain people out of your path. I will pray that you find some good, strengthening and uplifting friends. We need those. All the best, laughing heart

Check out a quaker group. From what I know they are all friends and stay at each others houses (all meeting houses have free accomodation) when they go visiting. There's no real hierarchy that other churches have, all friends just contribute what they want to contribute. And while visitors are welcome, and some may be seekers, the core values are Christian. They organise their own events and things. And I notice unlike church groups they dont segeragate themsleves so much into sexes and ages.

And bonus for us introverts, you dont have to be loud and noisy.
