How can I ever undo
All the harm that I have caused
Not only did I hurt myself
I broke the karmic laws

I never meant to harm a soul
No heart I meant to break
I only wanted what I thought was mine
But not to take

I tried to live
I tried to give
I tried to stay afloat

I tried to stay on even's keel
And not to rock the boat

Somehow I failed in even this
Somewhere I strayed amiss

Too many questions asked of love
Had swamped my life's abyss.

*

You cannot know how lost I was
How desperate for the truth

You don't know why I hid myself
And traded on my youth

Don't hold me up to Juliette
She knew your love was real

Our love was unspoken
And our hearts we did conceal
You make me cry.
Seriously, feel so privileged to peek into the treasury of your heart. And I can only dream to conquer the beauty of English language so.

I am new here, having just joined earlier today :) I am a born again believer since 2004; the following poem I wrote in 1988.

I'm so confused
What did I do?
The Bible says I'm evil.
Have I lived most of my life
In the grips of the devil?

Why was this?
I think I know:
Insecurity had me in it's throes.
Love I was afraid to show
And so I lived in darkness.

But what is evil?
Self esteem?
Following your heart-felt dreams?

Surely God on glorious high
Takes no delight to see me cry.

His love for me I must believe
Because of Him we were conceived;
Love is where I long to be
And so live in His likeness.

But what is love?
Does anyone know
Just what it is
We're supposed to show?

What kind?
How much?
Where does it go?
Who determines our love's flow?

Are we really in control
When sitting at the wheel?
For reason still eludes me
When I think on how I feel.

Are we the same?
Are we to blame?
What forces shape our lives?

Science looks for answers
While our spirits we deprive.
I just ran across this one, and realized you had more poems.

I read your poems, it was hard to pick a favorite. Each one had a special message, with very powerful words. They should be in a book, thanks for sharing God Bless

Moses was not a Jew
And this is true
For he was Hebrew
And a Levite too

Paul was also a Jew, a Benjaminite
A pharisee descended from pharisees
Some may have thought him wound tight
For the cause of Christ he did gloriously fight
As apostle to the gentiles he dedicated his life

:)

Inspired by @GandalfTheWhite in NBW :geek:

I designed this Romans 8:38-39 panel a few days ago...

I tried to shield this heart from love
To spare myself the pain
Forlorn indeed I fell
And this endeavor wrought my sham
OH YEAH!

The reason why there are no cowards in heaven.
Love is dangerous.
Behold then the kindness and severity of God

what is love..

love is an unreguited gift from God. it is unconditional, absolute and eternal.
it can never be earned, bought or bartered for. Some say you have to earn my love.

i say if you cant give your love freely, you can give love at all because it is not yours
to give because you have not accepted it from our holy giver of love. Love has no words because words can be defined in many ddifferent ways. My love is my gift foryou
to accept as you wish. One love is one heart created to be as one. To give is also to
take and thecircle stays unbroken. The scent of a rose remains in the hand that
gives it away. The love God gives us dwells with angent desire to give it away.

The day dawns bright this beautiful day
With the full moon's light setting over the bay
God is my portion, there is no other way;
He's been nothing but good, and to that I must say
"Thank you."

I figure someone might get mad that i commented on an old post.
This poem was well writing, but so sad, and yet intriguing mystery. 1988 was when I got baptized. 1988 sounds like it sucked for you.

It was indeed a very bad year for me, but I must take responsibility for that fact also! :D

Although there were definite highlights. One in particular:

God revealed His forgiveness and unconditional love to me.

It took many years for me to respond appropriately ;)

In fact it took another profound encounter.

Thank you for reading and commenting :)
