Would any mature Christians in the faith like to share their thoughts?

After a decade and lots of readings I still haven’t found an “easy-ish” way that isn’t totally subjective to be almost useless.

You just “feels” it, or is that maybe a cold?

Do you seek Him with all of your heart. By this, do you place Him above everything else in your life? Does He consume your thoughts?

Jeremiah 29
13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

By lots of readings, what do you mean? What readings, what materials? The bible? Other books?

Lots of reading the Holy Bible i hope.. That's good but that's not enough.. Along with lots of reading of the Holy Bible one should be praying, asking God as we start each reading session to guide us into Understanding His will..

Keep on searching His Word AND knocking on His door..

Discerning God's will is a matter of reading scripture. He wants you to just as has had written down on the pages.
So we learn the principles from the Bible and we apply them to our day to day and situation to situation life. So love the Lord your God with all your heart and your neighbor as yourself, do your work as unto the Lord, obey the law as long as it doesn't contradict the word of God. Share the gospel with others, so they might also be saved. There is really not much more to it. God don't care if you eat the green m&ms or the red ones just don't eat so many that you damage yourself.
His specific will for your life is for you to live and apply his teachings and truth to your life and abide in him.

I meant more so in tough rough situations where circumstances are all over the place.

But I guess you live by faith and not care about circumstances?

Talking about when people decide to move somewhere, do missionary work, relationships, ect.

I’m not talking about his will in day to day stuff, obviously that’s his implied will and it’s in the Bible.

Discerning God’s will is easy. There’s only one rule. Be loving, to Him and others. The world and our flesh taught us to be egocentric and to chase pleasure. God doesn’t micromanage everything. Free will is what dominates in this world. That’s why there is so much suffering. We all have certain things we are naturally good at. Share your talents in loving ways. If you get a feeling you should do something nice for someone, do it. It could be money, helping them physically, even just a smile or a compliment. Not all or called to go to the ends of the earth preaching the good news but if you feel you are, then go. It doesn’t mean that it will be easy.

Well, for stuff like going to another country to be a missionary, those are specific callings. The way that works is that God puts a passion in your heart like a strong desire that is compelling.
God is not trying to keep his will a secret from people. If you love him and are seeking after him, studying the word, applying the principles of the word to your life; God has no interest in hiding his will from you. God doesn't make you dig and search for secret signs that you may or may not understand.

There are basic things that we can do that you know for sure God wants..

Study your bible
Be prepared to share your faith
Pray regularly
Attend a sound bible believing church
Believing core Christian doctrine

In these .. we learn Gods specific will to us

Yeah that’s god spoken implied Will. I didn’t mean the obvious meant more complex manners. Where people have to start fasting and praying.

Outside of him visiting me in a dream or sending an angel lol.

Remember reading and just now again read: you can discern through gods peace. Is this a dangerous way to discern?

It is better to obey your feet to remain on the Way than to only rely on reading, for no man is perfect in the Word, none, except our Savior, Jesus, Yeshua....

Hi GdaxBbb,

I love your question because you seem to not be asking for the feel-good vague and general answers but rather the how-do-I-get-God-to-answer-when-I'm-in-the-middle-of-a-real-problem kind of question.

I'll answer 2 scenarios. One, where you can get God to answer...and the other, where you cannot.

The first one is solved by seeking God until he answers. (DILIGENTLY, in whatever ways you know of...until He answers <--wish I could stress that "until God answers" part x10) If you're willing to give up/fail, God is willng to let you (although he greatly prefers that you do not fail). He does this so far as to let people go to hell with problems he was ready and able to remove... because He won't take away their right to fail).

One thing to remember is this... HOW he answers is his business. Your job is to focus on your part until he does his. If you want to clearly recognize his answer, why not include that in your prayer? Would you also like to be obedient to his answer? Again, why not include that in your prayer, if it is an important matter? Also, if you're needing an answer to a question, once you've prayed... sit quietly and wait, listening to see if he'd like to give you the answer right then. Sometimes he will. Sometimes he won't but either way it is simply polite if nothing else...and shows that you actually EXPECT an answer. That is a form of faith. (AKA: Why ask if you don't expect to be answered?)

In the second scenario you do as much of the first things as you have time for...and then your time is up and you have to make a choice one way or the other because the situation is upon you. In that scenario your confidence (or lack thereof) comes from the idea that you've done your part of the prayer end and are trusting God to fulfill his end even though you've seen no 'evidence' to indicate that he will...so far. This again is an exercise of FAITH. The caveat being that if you've done little to prepare, you have little expectation of success. That is part of the reason so many fail and later come up with doctrines that support failed prayer attempts.

If you do fail in this second scenario, don't assume the failure was on God's part of the bargain....Go back to the first scenario and start asking God WHY....until He answers. <---there, I got in one more emphasis of the"until God answers' point. :)

Love in Jesus,
Kelby

All that I can give you is my personal experience, and I don't know if it will help or not, but it worked for me. I attended a congregation with my parents until I graduated high school, and never retained, or understood the scriptures, probably because I was paying too much attention to the girls, or trying to see what was going on outside the window. I tried reading my bible, book by book, and could not make sense of it. I seemed to run into scriptures that would contradict themselves, and did not put very much interest in studying my bible until I was 50 years old.

At 50, I remember having the "mindset that I was smart enough" to be able to make sense of the scriptures, if I would purchase a Strong's concordance, and put a lot of energy into my studying. I attended many different churches, for 12 years, taking notes, and going home to compare them to the scriptures, without any success in discerning any meaning from them.

I would not give up, until I was 62 years old, because I was too stubborn to admit defeat, I finally admitted that I just was not smart enough to figure it out.

I do not remember the time laps thereafter, until one day, I was discussing the scriptures with by brother-in-law, when, much to my surprise, some of the scriptures, which seemed to contradict each other earlier, began to be revealed in a way that they harmonized. The scripture seemed to come to mind off Matt 16;24-25, "Then Jesus said unto his disciples, if any man will come after me, let him deny himself (his own entelect), and take up his cross, and follow me., For whosoever will save his life (here in time) shall lose it, and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. This scripture, also, came to mind, Proverbs 3:5-6,, "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding, In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths".

I believe that the Holy Spirit, within me, did not reveal those truths to me, for those 12 years, because I would have taken credit for my smartness, instead of giving God the credit. so, the advise that I pass on to others is to give up the thought that you can figure out the meaning of the scriptures with your own entelect, and place your faith in the LORD to reveal.

I seem to glean more discernment from the scriptures, by studying to compare scripture subject material by word association. I hope this might help, but everyone has their different ways of studying that works for them.

i believe is pray and keep going and God will lead your steps. many people i know get really stressed about if they are in will of God. its good to think about it but dont stress too much.

Pro 20:24 Man's goings are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?
Pro 16:9 A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.

Because that word "God's peace".
Being a piece with something is no measure. Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane was clearly not at piece, he was under such stress that he sweat great drops of blood, and asked the father three times if there was another way.
Paul wrote that he don't consider these present sufferings comparable to the reward on heaven. This was the way he delt with the hardships he faced. He had to cognitively measure them against what he knew to be his reward on heaven.

Right that is what I thought too there were a lot of people in the Bible who were in severe anguish.
