Three things....

a. The bible is it's best commentary

b. Paul was inspired and the bible covers everything

C. And not mouthing, but you and I are not Paul, neither are we inspired to add our own hypothetical situations to the word.

We should not go beyond what is given in the word, it is sufficient
Which was beyond scripture?

A. A professed Christian living in sin? no

B. A person who thinks they’re saved and not? No

C. Eternal security? No

So what exactly did I add to the Bible?

Nothing.

I am not God, I can not judge.

your asking me to judge,

ps, all sin is willfull. You do not do something you Really deep down do not want to do.
Not judging anyone. No one is on trial here. Do I need to remind you about what YOU said about what saved people do not do?

What is your besetting sin? Are you saved in spite of that sin?

don’t say you do not have one, everyone has one, even Paul.
I have more than one. But we’ve already discussed the difference between besetting sin and what John said about a lifestyle of sin. You and I were in agreement about what the apostle John said about Christians and sin. Remember?

I say I am not offended by you not taking the time to answer someone other than myself, though expected you to be a bit more willing for discussion.
You don't find it rude if someone asks you what you specifically believe a verse to mean, to answer them with more verses with no personal explination?

I am not offended but I certainly expect you to answer the question of eleventh....

You then suggest I may be offended by scripture.....

I come here, not to speak of myself, but of my Lord and Savior. Do not follow me, follow Him. Follow Him all the days of your life. I am sorry if my posting of Scripture offends you. Very sorry indeed.

Then you act as if I didn't understand a verse and was seeking you for help.

What verse do you not understand?
You surely haven't spoken for the Lord here.

That was all fleshly and void of truth, patience, love, desire to help.....

Just subtle digs and the sidestepping of what was said.

Questionable behavior for a man your age who professes Christ.

I stand corrected. Thank you.

Oyster.... I don't want to argue.... but do you see what I see from this back and forth?

Were you not being dishonest but only confused by the way I worded things?

Often when people ... who hold your position argue with me they do similar things...

1. Create strawmen. - Form a position similar in wording but different in nature than what I hold to prove wrong then act as if they proved the position I hold wrong.

2. Create a false accusation or narrative to gain a form of moral or intellectual high ground then use that untruth to try and act as if regardless of what my point was it is invalid because A) I am "immoral" via the false accusation or B) Because they have already "shown" their "intellectual" / "moral" superiority I should automatically agree with their position.

3. Throw out random out of context verses and side step main points using vague descriptions to never get caught in a corner.

All three of these sorts often twist words....

I saw these responses from you contain some of those dishonest tactics.

But I would also say if you were simply confused it is possible to make those false claims you made against me.

(sorry for the repost)

why are you trying to be a fruit inspector?

if a person has a serious sin issue, you take them aside is that not correct?

it is not our job to judge, but to serve and help
Who am I judging? I said this was about how we examine OURSELVES.

Was it you that said this? Read the underlined parts.

John said can’t

i will go with John on this one

once again miso, we are not talking about prodigal children or our person sin,we are talking about a lifestyle of unrighteousness, those who live in continual self centered self focused. I have a hole in my heart and I need to fill it, so I will fill it my way instead of letting God full it for me

to those saved, God already filled that whole, so they no longer need that hoe filled. Thus no longer need to sin, Ie, they do not live in sin.

a baby will have more sin than a mature believer, even so, that baby will not live on sin.they can
they have been born of God

1. the hole in their heart of filled to excess (rivers of living water)
2. They are new creatures, sin is poison to them, like righteousness is poison to a non believer
3. they chastened by God

these are just three reasons why they cant

Yes, OSAS, is also called Eternal Security and Calvinism. I think we all agree on these definitions.
Calvinism? I actually didn't know that.
So, Eternal security as in knowing when we get saved by Jesus, no matter what we do, we go to heaven in the end?

Those who are saved...no longer live in sin.

Even a baby cannot live on sin.

That's what you said, not me, Eternally-grateful.

Smh

if you live a habitual lifestyle of sin )not just one sin habit)

the Bible says you have never seen God.

but how can you a person lives a habitual lifestyle of sin?

jesus said the pharisee did this, yet on the outside, they looked clean.

we are in serious danger if we start to judge people
Exactly WHO am I judging here? No one is on trial here. I have not mentioned one name or applied my question to one person. The only one I apply it to is myself. You cannot find one place where I judged anyone.

yep and biblical to boot.......

Eternal Security is found woven all through scripture......although many in ignorance reject it.......my bible is clear...we are KEPT by the power of GOD through the faith he begins, finishes and completes in us.........HE LOSES nothing, nor can we do anything that will separate us from the LOVE of GOD.

We are sealed unto the day of redemption
We are saved to the uttermost
We are kept by his power
He loses NOTHING
The gifts (plural) and calling of GOD is irrevocable (salvation is a gift)
We are in the Father's hand and in Christ's hand
We are justified eternally
We are positionally sanctified in Christ eternally
We have been born again from above with a spirit that doss not sin
We have been given eternal/everlasting life NOT temporal based upon hoop jumping
etc.

And there are NO verses in context that teach a losable salvation......we can be judged, whipped, suffer loss of reward, suffer disease and even be taken home early because of rebellion and or sin, but our standing in CHRIST is sure!
Yes, you explained it very well. And, I absolutely agree..

What about the verse in the Bible where Jesus says in Matthew 24:13 that "But he shall who endure to the end shall be saved?"

Does that still highlight OSAS?

Honestly, Once Saves, Always Saved...does confuse me a little bit🤔

He who sins has never seen or known God.

what is your trip dude?

this is a works thread not a snactification thread. Your seriously off topic
I thought it was a thread about salvation. Not of Works would mean that the thread is not about works.

And I haven't said anything about sanctification.

Calvinism? I actually didn't know that.
So, Eternal security as in knowing when we get saved by Jesus, no matter what we do, we go to heaven in the end?

calvinism is a denomination

eternal security is a belief that God keeps those He has saved already

many denominations believe in eternal security which arent calvinist

just like many people believe in works salvation or adding the works of men to what Jesus did and arent catholic or JWs

his statement is factually incorrect and he said sorry

For salvation yes

faith is the issue not sin

did you forget you are in a how do we get saved thread?
if sin is an issue in salvation, then no one is saved, period!
Sin is an issue in that those who are born again do not practice sin. YOU said "those who have seen God or know God do not sin (as in practice) and you also said that a person who is born again does not live in sin. YOUR WORDS.

Is the New Birth and knowing God a salvation issue?

This is descriptive of one who is already God's child.

Where as "those who go out from us" would be descriptive of one who was never born again even if before man they appeared to be "in Christ"

(wheat among the tares, goat among the sheep)

"Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:"
Romans 3:24, KJV
Titus 3:5
5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

Romans 8:38-39
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Philippians 1:6
6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

"These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God."

__________

1 John 2:19
19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

Hebrews 10:39

“But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

No, not really

we should look at the persons faith, or should a rather say that person should look at his faith.

as DC said, sin is not the issue, faith is

God will take care of the sin issue, through chastening and whatever means he has if the person is a child. If the person is not a child. He will continue with no repercussions.
If that person KNOWS GOD. IF that person has been born again. If that person has been saved.

And you have said that people that fit this description do not continue, abide, practice sin, did you not?

If I LEAVE my wife, and start having multiple partners and continue in that way for the rest of my life, IS IT POSSIBLE that I was never saved, that I was a professer but not a possesser of eternal life?

No one's judging anyone. I am applying the question to myself.

YES or NO?

What about those on their deathbed , who have minutes to live ? , who have lived their whole life as an enemy of God , yet God calls them before they have taken their last breath , they never had no life left to follow Him all the days of their life...
Not a problem, remember the thief on the cross? Perhaps we should all repent on our deathbed for sins committed after we are saved?

Hypothetical questions in the bible

Hebrews 2:3

1 Cor 15:29

James 2:14

James 2:16

1 Corinthians 15:32

Mark 8;36

1 Cor 6;15

Etc
A clear hypothetical to illustrate an answer is far different some nebulous situation that has no answer.

The reason youre facing issues in this is your mentality is far from Gods....

You keep looking to actions and not talking at all about the state of the heart of the person who is failing.

You then add time periods and big words to act as if 10 sins would disqualify someone more than 1 or that deed would disqualify someone more than thought to take your point to the extreme.

In reality

God's child who fails DOES not want to sin. If they are sinning they DESIRE righteousness. To sin as God's child, once or 100 times or 70 x 7 times would be a failure. Not a practice.

A child of Gods walk before man CAN show maturity IN CHRIST via the power of Christ working in them.

This is a useful son/daughter.

A child of Gods walk can also show IMMATURITY IN CHRIST via their flesh which would not show MAN anything other than this person should not be an example or put in a position of spiritual authority over anyone.

You might be considered licentious? Curtains for those who live that lifestyle?

This is one of my problems with OSAS. It is not a licence to live in sin.
