Hi, Everyone!

I'm just a simple late teen girl who loves following the Word of God.
I've honestly been going through a hard time, I feel really alone, and I'm just looking for a friend to reflect and study the Word with.
I recently finished a study on the Book of Acts, and I'm just starting a study on Zechariah, although I am up for talking about anything in the Bible as long as it is constructive. Feel free to message me! ^

A few of my interests: Analyzing clean Christian fiction (and non-fiction) books, writing world/character-building, helping other people, sailing and boats in general, astronomy, classical and messianic music, cats, and humming birds.

May the Lord be your strength and your stay in darkness and in light, and may you all be pleasing in His sight.

Sincerely,

Puresong

Hello, dear Puresong. 💐

I am sorry you are going through a difficult time. I had a few of those in my teen years. 💛

I am in the middle of studying Acts and Letters of the Apostles through Bible Study Fellowship. It's been truly great! We took a break from Acts and the past couple of weeks were in Hebrews, though we finished that book tonight.

I def need to get better about sticking with a book of the Bible in my own personal quiet time. (I don't consider the group studies I do as my personal time for some reason.) The last week or so I've been reading a Psalm a day. One day I read 1 John... etc. Usually I am all over the place.

Anyway! So you're into sailing... Interesting! I've been on the ocean waves a few times, but only on fishing boats or a little parasailing boat. 🙂

Cats make my short list too. 🐱 I've got 2: Nara Jane and Lionel. They're both fat and rule the roost (or so they think).

may you all be pleasing in His sight.
Love, love, love this. Amen and amen.

Welcome to CC!

Hi there!

Ah, I went through a study of Hebrews not too long ago as well. It's truly a great epistle on the priesthood of Christ.

I confess that I am rather all over the place when I read the Bible as well. (You can probably gather that from me jumping from Acts all the way back to Zechariah. xD) I've always had a hard time with my personal devotional studies. I struggle to relax when reading the Bible and just read without feeling the impulse to write paragraphs of notes both in my mind and in text of analyzing and trying to understand the verses. Although perhaps that's just what God wants me to do for now.

And yep, I've always loved ships and the sea since before I can remember. There's just this feeling of harmony and tranquility I feel whenever I see a ship gliding on the waves. I've only been out on an ocean once and I don't know how to sail, but I would love to try.

I have two cats as well, Snowflake (a female solid white mix) and Eldwin (a male blue mink Ragdoll). Snowflake is a cranky old lady and Eldwin likes to play jokes on her. xD

God bless!

I used to do a lot of note taking as I read the Bible. And I still do some. I think mostly now I just highlight (in different colors), underline, star, circle, etc. (I know some people believe it is unacceptable to mark in the Bible, and I do understand.) I read commentaries on particular verses some. I will copy certain Scriptures to my journal when they speak to me and they have a weightiness that I need to remember.

Which version(s) do you prefer? Do you have some "favorite" books/stories/verses/people in the Bible? (I know they are all important and wonderful because they are all inspired by God. 🙂)

Sweet. When I got Lionel I thought she was a boy, but she turned out to be a girl. I decided just to keep her name. Lol.

I don't have a problem with writing/marking in a Bible personally, but my penmanship is less than ideal, and I lose track of organizing my highlights too easily, so I mainly only take digital notes now.

I only use the KJV myself. It's a very long and controversial story why, but it's connected to the flaws of modern textual criticism. I truly don't condemn people who use other English versions, but I don't trust other versions like I do the KJV.

Indeed, my favorite books in the Bible would probably be Proverbs for the Old Testament and Romans for the New Testament. A few of my favorite people (aside from Jesus of course) would be Jeremiah, Daniel, Samuel, Joseph, Elijah, Elisha, John the Baptist, and Paul. A few examples of my favorite verses that are very personal to me would be Micah 7:8 (it was the first verse I memorized verbatim by heart), Galatians 5:22-26 (which is my "life creed" so to speak), Psalm 118:14 (this verse I have on a hat and I love it), and all of Romans 8 (my go to chapter when I'm really struggling). And honestly it's too difficult to pick a favorite story. xD What about you?

Haha, a fun fact about Eldwin's name is that it's based on the Old English prefix "Eld-", which means "Old", and the Old English suffix "-win", which means "Friend". So when you put the two together, his name means "Old Friend". :)

I like Psalms, Proverbs, in the New Testament I like the book of Acts

Hi there!
I have been searching for a Bible study for quite some time now... I recently attended what was supposed to be a home Bible study for young singles around my age that was hosted by a nearby Church, but I felt really out of place (even though everyone was very nice there), and there was a surprising lack of actually studying the Bible. I was really disappointed and eventually respectfully left, so I'm back at square one right now. Honestly to keep a long story short, going to social events really stresses me out, despite my longing to participate in them.

Sure! I'd love to be friends, feel free to send over a message to me if you want. ^-^
