Guys, thanks for the discussion.

I am new here and can see my multiplications of posts.

Let me ask you why God didn't warn the chosen people (the OT) about existence of a fallen angel, the devil and demons? Why Past the Epistles we are not told about demons activity?

Why the apostles knew that punishment for sins not demon possession caused human infirmity (see Jn 1-3?
Why Jesus always spoke in parables to the multitudes ( when the spies were present)?

Why did he say that he came to close eyes of some and open for others?

Why the first think the demons say while accounting Jesus is that he is the Son of God and even allow him to humiliate them, turning into unclean pigs? By the way God did all those wonder and miracles by Jesus Ac2:22).

That is true, by what about when Jesus called Peter Satan. Surly Peter wasn’t an idolizer.
Didn't you notice that Jesus stated exactly as it hppened at the time, explaining that Peter was his stumblig block (satan)?

I assume Peter's carnal mindedness warranted the rebuke.
I’m not sure what you mean by carnal? Just for clarification, can the devil only attack through idol worship? I just want to make I know where you stand on the issue.

One would have to assume that Satan was influencing Peter or Jesus’s wouldn’t have called him by that name. Through out the Gospels, we never see Jesus refer to another individual by that name.

Thanks Dave-L

Could you, please point me to the OT where God explains what/who is "the Devil"?

I wonder why would Luke begin with something out of the sky instead of referring to what God said earlier. After all we should use God's word to explain what is written, shouldn't we?
The devil is the father of lies an apposing understanding. The spirit of error. The spirt that challenges the authority of God and tries to turn it upside down as if the doctrines of God were not inspired from above but rather earthly inspired of the devil .

The doctrine of God come down . . . . . Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth. My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:Deuteronomy 32: 1-2

The doctrines of devils as the wisdom of this world.

James 3:15This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.

The Sky is one place He describes as a shadow of his glory.

Psalm 68:34 Ascribe ye strength unto God: his excellency is over Israel, and his strength is in the clouds.

Again the spirit of error the counterfit…

For thou hast said in thine heart, "I wil"l ascend into heaven, "I will" exalt my throne above the stars of God:" I will" sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north "I will" ascend above the heights of the clouds; "I will be like the most High".
Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. Isiah 14:13-15

A simple answer would be in Deuteronomy 18: 10-12.

God didn't tell us to "assume" matters especially in such utmost important mater. God gave us the "Word".

If we don't know It, we are prone to "assume" someone's "assumptions".

Based on the passage and how He had dealt with Peters impulsive speech at other times, there is good evidence that Satan was indeed influencing him hence why Jesus said “Satan, get behind me”

We are not to "assume".

The Word of God is clear.

We either know It or "assume".

Please consider De 13:1-$
I believe both passages warn the Israelites of the lies of men and also demonic activity. To answers your question, God did indeed warn them of Satan.

But who/what is satan??

Please consider James 1:14-15. Also Pauls' battle in Ro 7:14-25
