Are we supposed to ask the Father, and in Jesus' name? If we're supposed to ask in Jesus' name, are we supposed to end the prayer by saying "in Jesus' name I pray"? Should the prayer be ended by saying "Amen"? This might be a silly question, but if we ask the Father for something in prayer, in Jesus' name (if this is how we are supposed to ask for something in prayer), we might not receive what we ask for, right?

Joh 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
Joh 14:14 If ye shall ask anything in my name, that will I do.

An easy lesson. What is a bit of a meditation is learning Jesus, and the Father are One. Isaiah 9:6 explains this quite well.

It isn't a silly question, it's actually a good one..
Pray to the Father because you are in Christ. To say " In Jesus's name" every time is kind of redundant because you are already in His name/ identity, as your old man has died, you have died, and there is no self, just Christ in you now according to Galatians 2:20.
You can keep saying "in Jesus's name" if you like, if it helps you remember your position of identity now though. "Amen" is good for concluding prayer because its in agreement. As for receiving or not receiving, that is dependent on WHO is trying to receive. If you show up as "Leeloving" nah, you won't get it, show up with the realization that your old self has died and that you are no longer, and that it is Christ who lives in you, yes, you will receive it.

To make it easier for you, you should pray from the understanding that you do it BECAUSE you are now in Christ's name/ identity, you used to be identified as sin by the name of LeeLoving, but that person is gone. You have to believe this in faith and action, that is the reason why i say you should pray from this understanding.. Scripture says that faith without works is dead, so you have to put what is believed into action. Also remember what happened on the cross, you died with Jesus too, that's what baptism is, that is what is signified... But anyways start your prayers off like this to the Father." Because i am in Jesus's name _____"

A final thing to note. Everything from God is in faith, and comes from faith. Also i would study and focus on everything Jesus said concerning prayer because there is always more to learn. I am in no way an expert, and don't have the answers to everything. You will have to do your homework on some things.

Jesus, Yeshua, whom most here claim to believe teaches us sto pray and ask in His name. I do this because He died, agonized, on the cross for all who sin, and I am chief among them. Since my sin is covered only byu the Blood He shed for us, I will obey Him in all. This is the least any who are saved can do, or attmpt to do because of His great Sacrifice.
God became flesh and suffered all mankind suffers just to save us.

"Amen shall be considered sufficient. To be humble with gratitude, and act upon accordingly.
It is not so much about being 'religiously correct' to impress, but a sincerity of the heart and
an intimate connection of ones self with the Holy Spirit. And, to be authentic and not to allow
ones ego to be a 'show' to impress the 'media'."

There are people here who actually believe God will give you anything you ask for because they deliberately overlook the fact that Scripture explicitly specifies that we will be given according to the will of God. Since God gives us new hearts and new desires, and asking according to the will of God assures success, then it would seem not only wise, but also prudent, perhaps, to simply pray for knowledge of God's will for you, and for God's will to be done in your life.

You are correct Sister. I don’t mind sharing, but the two things I pray for the most is to be lead in truth and God blessings. Are there things I wish God bestow upon me? Yes of course. I ask only ask for those if it is within His will for me.

I don't believe in formulaic type of prayers like that. I think coming to the father in Jesus name is a heart condition rather than words to be said.
But when called upon to be public leader of a prayer I start out with in Jesus name we come to you, and end in amen. That being said I'm not much into being the leader of a public prayer. mostly because I don't believe that there is any number of humans that could come together and leverage God.
