Because they are the same. The Spirit that indwelt Him is the Holy Spirit.
Joh_16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

The comforter is the Holy Spirit and he didn't come until Christ left. The Comforter wasn't in the prophets, he hadn't been given at that time.

1Pe 1:11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.

Are there other people here who don't understand that the "Spirit of Christ" in the Old Testament saints was the hidden word of God in the Old Testament scriptures?
No sir. You don’t have free license to just make a verse say what you want it to say. Nowhere will you find this teaching valid.

Here‘s John Calvin’s take on it...

The Spirit of Christ which was in them—First, "who was in them," and secondly, "testifying," that is, giving a testimony, by which expression he intimates that the prophets were endued with the Spirit of knowledge, and indeed in no common manner, as those who have been teachers and witnesses to us, and that yet they were not partakers of that light which is exhibited to us. At the same time, a high praise is given to their doctrine, for it was the testimony of the Holy Spirit; the preachers and ministers were men, but he was the teacher. Nor does he declare without reason that the Spirit of Christ then ruled; and he makes the Spirit, sent from heaven, to preside over the teachers of the Gospel, for he shews that the Gospel comes from God, and that the ancient prophecies were dictated by Christ.
The Spirit of Christ is the Holy Spirit not the OT scriptures. Not even close.

However, they had to have had the Spirit in some measure under the OT economy as it says However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.[Romans 8:9] So, if the OT saints didn’t possess the Spirit, then they were lost, seeing they were devoid of Him. Now, on the day of Pentecost we see Him coming upon them and giving them His full measure. But it’s safe to say the OT saints possessed the Spirit as well.

So in your opinion is the Comforter the Holy Ghost?

How old was Paul when he wrote the New Testament, or Stephen when he stoned? You're not into Kabbalah are you?
Age is just the Human development (biology) Periodization, the process of categorizing the past into discrete named blocks of time.

Biblical foolishness comes in all ages. And Biblical ignorance comes from all spiritual journeys. Jesus chose unschooled fishermen which is essentially my background as a layman blue collar American.

Age or education doesn't always mean someone is more accurate or wiser with Biblical knowledge.

So does it go like this. The comforter was in the Old Testament saints, then when Christ came it was temporarily taken away and then given back to us after he left? I'm trying to understand where your coming from.

They had Him or they would not belong to God, as Romans 8:9 avers. It wasn’t taken away my friend. The Apostles went out and did many miracles, and they did not do this of their own strength.

Do you think the Spirit of Christ is a person? The Spirit of Christ is what we are arguing over on this thread, IT'S NOT a person. The Word of God is the Spirit of Christ.

The KJV is trying to TEACH you what the Spirit of Christ (IT, not HE), is and you're rejecting that truth. I will say, since you've made this post I can understand your stance on bible versions.
The Word of God(as you capitalized Word) is the Christ. The word of God(lower case word) is the canon of scripture. You’re conflating Word with word. One is the Son of God, the other testifies of Him. :)

But Jesus plainly told the disciples that they DIDN'T have the Comforter because the Comforter couldn't come until Christ left. They did those miracles without the Comforter, that's not even the Comforters role, that's the Fathers role.

As far as Romans 8:9 goes, remember that the KJV called the Spirit of Christ "it". You're trying to turn two different things into the same thing and as other scriptures testify, the Comforter didn't come until Christ left.

I see no difference in the two other than the Word of God is the man and the word of God is his spirit.

Those OT saints did not have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. It came and went. David prayed that it would not be taken from him.

The Word of God became flesh[John 1:14] which is referring to the Christ. Nowhere does it say the scriptures are His Spirit. Nowhere.
