I agree the Holy Spirit is God but I think the Spirit of Christ is the word of God. Thank you for your answer, I was curious as to how you saw it.
I agree that the Word is Christ.😁

(though I guess my point is I dont disagree with you there is a difference.. I just dont see how the difference can be called error if nothing untrue is implied)

If the word that was translated could either mean specifically male or "person" and not include the male or female aspect, neither the nasb reader or kjv reader would have major reason to argue.... right?

(then again.... all of us have probably had a few silly arguments)

In my opinion "it" means a non-person and I'm pretty sure that's how the KJV translators took it. I think they recognized (I say through inspiration) that the Spirit of Christ was just another way of saying the word of God.

I"m not saying that the Holy Spirit is a non-personal "it". He is personal, he's God. I'm saying that the Spirit of Christ is not the same thing as the Holy Spirit.
How do you interpret Acts 16:6-7?

Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia,
After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not.

How do you understand the following verses?

Isaiah 63:10 But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them.

Ephesians 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

How can something non-personal be "vexed" or "grieved"?

How I see it is, (and I prefer the KJV)

Father = God
Christ (Word) = God (before and after coming in the flesh)
Holy spirit = God

Three witnesses

But these three are one and they are all equally God.

Lol am I missing something?

The Holy Spirit was given by that time. I'm not sure what you're getting at... I do believe in the Holy Spirit, I just don't believe the Holy Spirit and the Spirit of Christ are the same things.

Sorry if I"m not answering your question.

In the KJV, verse 6 says, "Holy Ghost"; verse 7 says, "Spirit". Most people take these as different terms for the same Person, because they were doing the same thing in the same or similar situation(s).

I think we agree.
God who has always been, has also always been manifesting as three. (if that makes sense)

Lol.. goodness

I guess the he it thing was bigger than I suspected... I still am not entirely sure what is being disagreed with by you and kjv either...

Maybe I am a step behind...

In my view the Holy Spirit and Holy Ghost are two different names for the same person. Although since only Spirit is mentioned in verse 7 it could be argued that Spirit means something else but I think the context makes it clear that it's same Spirit as verse 6.

I'm tempted to capitalize on your use of "person" for the Holy Spirit.

I'm still waiting to see where you two disagree so I can use a different translation to correct the both of you.🧐
Oh it's coming, he doesn't back down and neither do I lol. That's why I love him. Most of the time Dino and I have civil conversations but somehow he knows when I'm in a bad mood and he pushes my buttons.

Do you know if there is a disagreement? (and if so do you already know where it is?)

It sounds to me like maybe you two have a different view of if "The Holy Spirit" is a Who or It....
I'd say "Who" and I'd say Hes God (though if you said It is a Who and It's God I wouldn't complain)

(I also don't back down but... I often agree with dino and where you and I have disagreed in the past wasn't something either of us could prove or in direct conflict with the gospel so... we seemed to more or less just share our beliefs and ask a couple questions)

I really don't know what he was getting at. We probably have the same view but I may have not said something exactly right earlier. I mean come on the trinity is one of the easiest to understand doctrines in the bible.

Lol, well maybe it was the fact you compared the verse in the NASB to KJV and mentioned the difference between "He" and "It".

I don't know.

But I have seen some SUPER deep rooted issues (not from you or dino) in the "Christ is God" thread where people will call the "trinity" a pharisee doctrine.🤦‍♂️

My argument was that the Spirit of Christ and the Holy Spirit are not the same thing. I believe Jesus is God, the Holy Spirit is God and the Father is God. That's given to us in 1 John 5:7 in the KJV, it's not in the newer translations.

1 John 5:7 King James Version (KJV)

7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

I believe we would all agree on this.😁

It is strange in this instance how the others seemed to shorten that verse but I also think the fact the nasb added He opposed to It... the same picture is being painted in both.

The Holy Spirit is God and His own Person.

All it takes is for the words not to show up in the oldest and "best" copies of manuscripts and it's history.

Your view is that he and it doesn't matter, they say the same thing. But I see it as God flagged that verse with "it" so that we would realize that the Spirit of Christ is not a person.

There is a difference between saying it doesn't matter if there are changes and saying I don't see the difference between these specific changes.
