Praying difficult prayers is an important part of our relationship with God. Being able to simply ask God for patience or to purify and refine us in the fires of affliction are crucial steps in this walk of faith. We simply must trust Him that He will take care of us. Because He always will.

That video is of one Philip Blair, a sometimes controversial street preacher.

He teachers deliverance and being "slain in the Spirit", which I believe is part of Word of Faith and New Apostolic Reformation teachings.

I've come across a few "discernment" articles calling him out, but those ministries are themselves on shaky ground Biblically. That's why I haven't posted any links.

Just something to chew on..............

I prefer to model my prayers after the prayers offered in the Bible, particularly the prayer Jesus taught.

Caveat emptor.
I learned this one the hard way.
Last time I prayed to God to teach me patience, God answered within days. Answer? I was made to wait for the next 10 YEARS...! Very painful lesson.

But I asked for it myself. God simply gave me what I asked for. I was being taught patience. Thankfully, I was intelligent enough not to pray for strenght also, or I would have calamities added to the wait, to build up my strength as well. Then I understood what it meant:

"And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil"

Pray for deliverance and receive deliverance. Pray for difficulty, and receive difficulty.

Yeah, he does street performing and fake healing like Todd White. Four thumbs down.

I'm confused, what makes a prayer difficult besides a god that is too small, too weak, or one that doesn't care?

For me it's knowing there is nothing I can say that God doesn't know or have in his plan.
