I am curious, I do not understand why Christians fight for God, our beliefs system, over what the Bible says, what our church says or anything else pertaining to our father. I understand the passion, I understand emotions and we want to be right, we want to proclaim victory. And I spent my whole life fighting, to live, survive, for food, a job, you name it. My career was training people to fight and win in every land environment on the planet. But I never understood why we fight for God. God created the world and everything we know, he created our mind, made us emotional beings that can reason and rationalize, love almost without bounds and hate just as deeply. And since God created us, do you think he needs us to come defend him or his word? Let go and Let God. He uses sinners to further his will just as much if not more then believers.

Leviticus 18:17-18
17 You must not hate your brother in your heart. You must surely reprove your fellow citizen so that you do not incur sin on account of him.
18 You must not take vengeance or bear a grudge against any of your people, but you must love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord.

I feel people that claim to know father all to often spend to much energy fighting. About anything and everything. Jesus got angry, he was exasperated and disappointed in the disputes of his disciples, friends and followers. But I do not think Jesus ever said fight for, defend or be spiteful in claiming we know what is written. Or that our understanding is what God's will is. People of all religions are cruel and vindictive. Two things Jesus never was. Our history, past and present has been one of conflict, torture, hatred and not fulfilling our Lord's greatest commandment. Love, Love our God with all our heart and love our neighbor.
We should all love more. Love believers and love sinners. Never love the sin. But show what Jesus wants us to do. Less throwing scripture around and more being there with patience, an open heart and prayer to be the vessel God uses to do his will.
