I am curious, I do not understand why Christians fight for God, our beliefs system, over what the Bible says, what our church says or anything else pertaining to our father. I understand the passion, I understand emotions and we want to be right, we want to proclaim victory. And I spent my whole life fighting, to live, survive, for food, a job, you name it. My career was training people to fight and win in every land environment on the planet. But I never understood why we fight for God. God created the world and everything we know, he created our mind, made us emotional beings that can reason and rationalize, love almost without bounds and hate just as deeply. And since God created us, do you think he needs us to come defend him or his word? Let go and Let God. He uses sinners to further his will just as much if not more then believers.

It is written...

Old testament

Deuteronomy 6:4-5
4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord:
5 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

Leviticus 18:17-18
17 You must not hate your brother in your heart. You must surely reprove your fellow citizen so that you do not incur sin on account of him.
18 You must not take vengeance or bear a grudge against any of your people, but you must love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord.

New Testament

“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”
— Matthew 22:35-40

And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he answered them well, asked him, “Which commandment is the most important of all?” Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
— Mark 12:28-31

And behold, a lawyer stood up to put him to the test, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” He said to him, “What is written in the Law? How do you read it?” And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” And he said to him, “You have answered correctly; do this, and you will live.

— Luke 10:25-28

When he had gone out, Jesus said, “Now is the Son of Man glorified, and God is glorified in him. If God is glorified in him, God will also glorify him in himself, and glorify him at once. Little children, yet a little while I am with you. You will seek me, and just as I said to the Jews, so now I also say to you, ‘Where I am going you cannot come.' A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
— John 13:31-35

I feel people that claim to know father all to often spend to much energy fighting. About anything and everything. Jesus got angry, he was exasperated and disappointed in the disputes of his disciples, friends and followers. But I do not think Jesus ever said fight for, defend or be spiteful in claiming we know what is written. Or that our understanding is what God's will is. People of all religions are cruel and vindictive. Two things Jesus never was. Our history, past and present has been one of conflict, torture, hatred and not fulfilling our Lord's greatest commandment. Love, Love our God with all our heart and love our neighbor.

We should all love more. Love believers and love sinners. Never love the sin. But show what Jesus wants us to do. Less throwing scripture around and more being there with patience, an open heart and prayer to be the vessel God uses to do his will.

Thanks for reading the ramblings of a broken alone and unloved soul.

You are certainly not unloved. Your Creator loves you so much He send His son to take your place of death. Using broken people is Jesus’s specialty. Take heart, for we are all in this together!

I fight for God because i love his persona and system. He exists to undo the works of evil and have relationships with men. I also fight for God because i hate the devil.

the battle is the Lords.
yes I dont really understand this tendency for religious fighting either.

If someone really doesnt want to know Him, then no point pushing on someone who is not open to Him scripture. and even if someone knows God or wants to know God, they can find out more by simply asking Him, rather than anyone feeling like they have to tell the other person what to do in their personal walk with Christ.

if someones just wanting some advice or other peoples opinions fine, but no need to argue about it. we are not in court.

I had this thing where some other librarians are holding a 'book battle' whereby you are meant to have teams read a set list of books and answer questions and whoever answers the most gets to win books for their school, like a competiton, and its meant to be 'fun' but im like, why do you have to 'fight' or show you know more to win books for your school?

actually wouldnt the team who knew the least deserve more books for their school? Or the ones who have given their books away to others? why does everything have to be a battle or competition.
