Well from last time, I have currently started volunteering and doing domestic help for a person from church.

Currently applying for maybe a hospice aide/helper/admin position. Trying to make sure I get in whatever place God wants. I know He lead me into the volunteering, I need His help to continue to walk in the right path. Easy with so many options to take a slight wrong turn.

You need to be certified to do that, Steph. And from how burned out you got with taking care of Daddy, I don't think it's a good field for you to go into.

I have been highly considering temp work or internships. My parents and grandparent though are highly highly like "GET SOMEthiNG WITH BENIFItTS RIGHT NOW."
I thought you already had a job.... working at a Tourist Attraction, or something like that?

That was years ago, before my daddy got cancer. I had gotten canned from there but I know God had it happen so I could be daddy’s caregiver

It’s different looking after family 24/7 and looking after other people as a
shift worker with time off.

Often the best care workers are those who have had personal first hand experience of
helping family. They can fully empathise with both patients and there families.

People are often led to take up a career in something they have had to deal with
in their own lives.

I getcha both. Yeah I know when I was with dad I often didn't take care of myself like I should've. But depending on what God has me do, which could be even just an administrator or some kind of aide for now, I hope if it's what He seems to be leading me to that He'll help me to do it. Or at least be able to handle it.

my mistake in the past was quantity not quality of application. Taking an interest in a company by mentioning something you like about them. Their good reputation, their focus on your interest area for example.
"this person shows a genuine interest in working here". staying humble is important too.

hey, @ArtsieSteph. i'm on the search for a job as well. yesterday, i took a couple of career apt tests online to give me an idea of what to look for because i like a lot of things but i'm not so interested in any of them for a career lol.

i used to work for a home health/hospice company, and i helped a little bit with the hospice side. see if any are looking for a PCS, which is Patient Care Secretary. they also look for volunteers to help with little stuff here and there.

p.s. maybe look into companies that have provider services. they help patients with cooking/cleaning/laundry/grocery shopping.

So since this died last...I got a job where I have been working with homeless families with small children. It’s wonderful work, only recently I got the “do your job or we’ll find someone who can” speech. And I’ve been trying my hardest (I think??) to try and do better. Hasn’t worked yet.

I’m at the point where I’m barely able to do my job. Emotionally I feel so tired and withdrawn. I’m fighting really hard not to give up when I feel like I have emotionally already

It’s so sad looking at how excited I was for the job and then looking at myself now. Lord what am I supposed to do? I know this is a stepping stone but... it just feels like a failure to me. But I’m probably wrong. I know I am in most things.

Oh. I just read up and realized you got the job you're speaking about last year...

Sometimes the job or environment just isn't right for you, and this doesn't mean that God didn't give you that job, or that you failed God by failing on the job. If you slacked up on the job, or were irresponsible (such as coming late), then it would be proper to blame yourself, but you didn't. You tried hard and wanted to excel.

Forgive me for inserting something from my life now, I just want to share this to help you stop feeling so bad. I've worked in retail before, and I can tell you that retail is definitely not for me. But I did it because I had to pay bills, and God was very gracious to provide me with every job opportunity He gave me. So... my last retail job, I ended up in a very abusive environment, which made my panic attacks return (which I thought was over) I had them daily and that job almost drove me to a mental breakdown, I made it a year there since I didn't want to rock the boat with our finances, and I finally resigned. My husband, when he understood how bad it was, was only upset that I put up with it for so long!

I believe you too are also too hard on yourself and are overthinking things. Just because God provided you with a job doesn't mean He wanted you to spend your lifetime on it, or that you failed God. You paid bills for a little while, had an opportunity to learn something, got a little closer to what should you do for a living and what environment you should or shouldn't be in. I learned some very important things, to stand up to abusive people, not to put up with abusive environments, and that a job is not worth my health. Maybe I was a witness to someone at that job. Maybe you were too, we will never know these things. God maybe had you there because some people needed to encounter you there and you helped their day better than someone else.

I will only be in retail again if I have no other choice, and now I do manual labor projects when I can pick up a job, and enjoy it. Sometimes it takes a lot of stress until we figure things out, and then after a while when we look back, things become clear. So don't stress in vain just because you don't have all the answers right now. Things will eventually become clear. Praying you soon get a job that won't be this taxing on your mental well being. Amen lord Jesus.

Yeah, the hardest thing is forgiving myself right now; being gracious to myself after “failing” this job. I always asked God to have me in the job however long He wished. Guess this was it.

That's a much better frame of mind.
From what I've been reading, it looks like you tried hard to stay out of guilt, until it got unbearable.
And that's that. It got unbearable for you. Which means it was the right time to go. Who knows, maybe you would have gotten coronavirus if you stayed, God forbid... we don't know all these things that God knows, so life get confusing... but we know:
Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Be of good cheer...
