And so if I'm being desperately tempted to steal out of the cash register at work, or commit adultery with the new hot female clerk they just hired I should not resist and wait for the day I can obey God out of love and not just obligation?

Serious question.
Don't blow it off.
I want to know how I'm supposed to respond according to your doctrine.

The rest from sin comes before assurance because assurance of salvation comes from your behavior.
Note, don't confuse 'security' of salvation with 'assurance' of salvation in what I just wrote.

Assurance of salvation comes from what you do and how you're changed/ changing.
That's why people start threads wondering if King Solomon was really saved or not.
We wonder because of how he lived his life at the end.
Obedience is ALWAYS equated with salvation.
The person who is still a baby in regard to obedience is the one struggles with assurance of salvation.

Serious question.
Don't blow it off.
I think we are back to license to sin here?

You have a choice grace or law... sin was dealt with at the cross.

I just do not how to help you understand this.

I will miss you dear brother
Will miss you too my dear brother.
You do my heart good.
I'm not logging out or asking for my account to be deleted.
It's just that I see no point in contributing here on this thread.
Nothing more that I can add to what has already been said.

Maybe we can check in as and when via PM.

This thread is cyclical...... it is a highly offensive TRUTH that we are eternally saved... we have to expect all the backlash.

Come back when we are having fun.

Where is @blue_ladybug when you need her!

HI!
Your osas says you can stop believing and you are still saved.
Rom 12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

In this Age of GRACE, can you lose this faith also, that GOD gave?

God Bless...

..but it appears, either some forget what they began in...or never began in what they should have begun in....
The end is not yet...
Pray for these that forgot or in their beginning....
I have biblical hope (expectation, assuredly) that Truth will prevail and manifest in there lives....

God Bless...

Matthew 10:16 BEHOLD,I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: BE YE THEREFORE WISE AS SERPENTS,AND HARMLESS AS DOVES.
It would seem so, one goes and another takes their place.

But I know God will have His remnant and His truth will prevail.

Those that are His..... are saved eternally and nothing can break that reality....His gifts are not revocable.

No. I''m not leaving here...especially since by my leaving, I may be misrepresented
Especially by the past two posts of a certain poster...

I will not be confused as a wolf, nor as one who does not know that they have eternal salvation because of the ONE who saved them....

Go away, sir...I do not need you to judge me in anything...for you too, by your own words, will be judged as well...
I have no fear of judgment because God is a just judge. The gospel is all those things men claim about God but don't really believe like that He is good, and He is all powerful, and the like are true. Some will despise me for daring to call them unto righteousness, others will despise me for saying that God is forgiving. But God has declared me righteous and I will stand in that judgment.

Are you asking me if I believe in the Trinity? If so, the answer is yes. I'm a little confused what you read into my statements to imply otherwise.

Jesus Christ is much more than a man.

Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Matthew 1:22-23 Now all this took place to fulfill what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet: "BEHOLD, THE VIRGIN SHALL BE WITH CHILD AND SHALL BEAR A SON, AND THEY SHALL CALL HIS NAME IMMANUEL," which translated means, "GOD WITH US.

He died, was buried and arose from the dead to save us from our sins and to give us eternal life. He was God in the flesh come down to save His creation.

I wish I could...
....

Every Verse is 100% of those things that OSAS THEOLOGY teach's that WE Believe Literally.

How much of it do you Believe LITERALLY ? ? ?

2 Timothy 1:9 (HCSB)
9 He has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began.

Titus 3:5-7 (HCSB)
5 He saved usnot by works of righteousness that we had done, but according to His mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit.
6 He poured out this ⌊Spirit⌋ on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,
7 so that having been justified by His grace, we may become heirs with the hope of eternal life.

Romans 4:3-5 (NET)
3 For what does the scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness."
4 Now to the one who works, his pay is not credited due to grace but due to obligation.
5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous, his faith is credited as righteousness.

Ephesians 4:30 (NKJV)
30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God,
by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

{This is a major OSAS VERSE!}

Ephesians 1:13-14 (HCSB)
13 When you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and when you believed in Him, you were also sealed with the promised Holy Spirit.
14 He is the down payment of our inheritance, for the redemption of the possession, to the praise of His glory.

><>

Ephesians 2:4-5 (HCSB)
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love that He had for us,
5 made us alive with the Messiah even though we were dead in trespasses. You are saved by grace!

Ephesians 2:8-9 (NJB)
8 Because it is by grace that you have been saved, through faith; not by anything of your own, but by a gift from God;
9 not by anything that you have done, so that nobody can claim the credit.

Romans 5:8-11 (HCSB)
8 But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us!
9 Much more then, since we have now been declared righteous by His blood, we will be saved through Him from wrath.
10 For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, ⌊then how⌋ much more, having been reconciled, will we be saved by His life!
11 And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ. We have now received this reconciliation through Him.

1 Corinthians 15:10 (HCSB)
10 But by God’s grace I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not ineffective. However, I worked more than any of them, yet not I, but God’s grace that was with me.

1 Peter 1:3-5 (HCSB)
3 Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. According to His great mercy, He has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead
4 and into an inheritance that is imperishable, uncorrupted, and unfading, kept in heaven for you.
5 You are being protected by God’s power through faith for a salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

Romans 11:6 (NASB)
6 But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works, otherwise grace is no longer grace.

Philippians 1:6 (HCSB)
6 I am sure of this, that He who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

2 Corinthians 3:5 (HCSB)
5 ⌊It is⌋ not that we are competent in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our competence is from God.

Philippians 2:13 (HCSB)
13 For it is God who is working in you, ⌊enabling you⌋ both to desire and to work out His good purpose.

Ephesians 1:11-14 (HCSB)
11 We have also received an inheritance in Him, predestined according to the purpose of the One who works out everything in agreement with the decision of His will,
12 so that we who had already put our hope in the Messiah might bring praise to His glory.
13 When you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and when you believed in Him [Long before you can do your first work, so Obedience is Part of your Agape Love, that you do after you are SAVED.], you were also sealed with the promised Holy Spirit.
14 He is the down payment of our inheritance, for the redemption of the possession, to the praise of His glory.

2 Timothy 2:19 (ESV)
19 But God’s firm foundation stands, bearing this seal: The Lord knows those who are his,” {before the beginning of time, and in HIS OMNISCIENCE, HE knows every decision you will make in your life time.} and, “Let everyone who names the name of the Lord depart from iniquity.”

John 10:27-28 (HCSB)
27 My sheep hear My voice, I know them, and they follow Me.
28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish—ever! No one will snatch them out of My hand.

2 John 1:2 (HCSB)
2 because of the truth that remains in us and will be with us forever.

><>

We teach that Obedience has NEVER been part of Salvation, HOWEVER, Obedience is part of Our AGAPE LOVE, Rom. 5:5.

John 14:15 (HCSB)
15 “If you love Me [Born Again], you will keep [will want to out of AGAPE LOVE] My commands.

1 John 5:3 (HCSB)
3 For this is what love for God is: to keep His commands. Now His commands are not a burden, [when done out of Agape Love.]

Ephesians 6:24 (HCSB)
24 Grace be with all who have undying love for our Lord Jesus Christ.

Yes, there are a lot more OSAS supportive verses, but that should be enough.

VCO...why did you truncate my response "I wish I could"?

You imply that this response had to do something with my belief?

It didn''t....

When?

Before HIS crucifixion.
Or after?

Are you a OSAS Believer, I am, and it sounds like you are ? ? ?

I can understand most what you are saying, and yet some terminology is different than mine.

Got a suggestion, Keep it SIMPLE, otherwise you go clean over their heads.

I wish I could...but what is given me to say, is what i say,.
I wish all we had to say was THE MESSAGE of the CROSS is the WISDOM of GOD made known and may it not be emptied of its power...but it appears, either some forget what they began in...or never began in what they should have begun in....
MY RESPONSE>...

I WISH I COULD was to your suggestion that I KEEP THINGS SIMPLE...

How dare you misrepresent, and Eleventh hour as well, misrepresent and twist what I said to IMPLY that I DON'T BELIEVE ETERNAL SECURITY...

I do...and shame on you both for not being able to understand that MY FAITH is directed in and on CHRIST JESUS and HIS WORK alone...what I do is the result of THAT knee buckling, cut to the heart revelation of what HE DID FOR ME...

You preach against eternal security .. I saw it from your first posts.
You saw nothing and your insight is off.

Once again you butted in to a conversation which is posted above...my response I WISH I COULD had to do with MY KEEPING my WRITING SIMPLE...

Unbelievable!

I was running out of space. I have never heard of the word Truncate in my 71 years of life. And you taught this old dog a new word. No there was no sinister implication. My you are suspicious.
