So, Christ charges his disciples to go and make disciples of all nations at the end of Matthew--- so we should spread the word when opportunity presents itself; I wonder, how do we consolidate this with the end of Revelation, verse 22:11, let the filthy still be filthy etc, which seems to say let be what is for the end is at hand. Are we to actively spread the word or let things be?
I still think, when it is right, that we should spread the word with gentleness and zeal, but its an interesting verse in Revelation, no?

Letting the filthy remain filthy is probably a heads-up that there are those that refuse to change despite the circumstances or situation.

Mat 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Mat 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Mat 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Jesus wants peace between people, and because Jesus came to bring salvation many people will be against each other that claim Christ and do not claim Christ, which will occur among family members in the same house.

But so be it, for Jesus was not going to abandon giving people salvation because people would fight over whether it is true or not, but had to give salvation to those who accepted it for God wants them saved.

Rev 22:10 And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.
Rev 22:11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.

Jesus has to come to put down the world, and have all His people with Him, so whatever their behavior is at that time let it be so, for Jesus will come, and if they are filthy Jesus is not going to abandon coming back for they are not saved, but at the time appointed has to end sin on earth.

But we are to always preach the Gospel at all times, and the only time that preaching the Gospel does no good is when they take the mark of the beast for then repentance and salvation is no longer available to them.

As long as the world can have salvation we have to preach the Gospel.

Jud 1:22 And of some have compassion, making a difference:
Jud 1:23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

People respond in different ways and will be reached by different approaches, for if you say Jesus loves you they may not respond, but if you can show prophesy in the Bible and they see it coming to pass, or past prophesies that have come true they may believe because of that, and fear for God will punish all wrong doers.

I believe he's referring to this life and the judgement that follows. If a person hasn't been made clean in this life, he'll be filthy still on judgment day.

When Satan is loosed, he rallies the nations against the Church and the gospel falls on deaf ears. Jesus asks if he will find faith on earth. This battle is raging now with false doctrines from both inside Church and from the world. Meaning Jesus can return with the universe exploding most any time now. (This is the Amillennial position Jesus taught in the gospels.)
