Yes you are doing doing it.
I'm not the one with all the 'not really' osas doctrines.
I got called out about that years ago and honestly acknowledged I was making the Bible 'not really' mean what it says, and so I quit doing that.

And yet in all that brilliance the fact that the servant was in fact forgiven escapes notice.
Amazing.
Why can't you understand that him being forgiven didn't make him a child of God?

We are not born again because we are forgiven. We are born again because we have faith and confession in Jesus Christ's, God in the flesh, atoning Sacrifice and belief in His resurrection.

Also, the whole point of this PARABLE is for Jesus to explain to us that ANYTHING ANYBODY has done to us is dust on the scales in comparison to what HE paid for what WE did.

I was surprised a few years ago that so many people on line didn't know that salvation is through the forgiveness of sin. One was a missionary!

"7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace" - Ephesians 1:7

"14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins." - Colossians 1:14

Asking for forgiveness of sins does not save.

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Ephesians 2:8-9

We are forgiven because the outstanding debt has been paid/forgiven.

I suspect it is your lack of comprehension skills that makes me seem contradictory.

The believer has a down payment of the Holy Spirit, not the fullness:

"21 Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, 22 set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come." - 1 Corinthians 2:21-22

We get the rest in the age to come.

Once saved, always saved, as long as you keep believing.
Why can't you comprehend this?

Once saved, always saved, as long as you keep believing.
You will employ any type of illogical assertion because you know you are wrong and desperate.

Even a five year old understands the word "always" and you state I lack comprehension skills.
That is pretty funny!

"Not the fullness?" Why add your bias to the text when it says nothing of the sort?

Um, the down payment is the guarantee of their inheritance. That's what the text states. It doesn't say what you make it say.

Checkmate.

I didn't say that we aren't forgiven. Of course we are!

I said it's not the FORGIVENESS that saves us, but the Blood of Christ that saves us. The forgiveness is a BYPRODUCT of the new birth through the Gospel. The Forgiveness itself saved nobody. Didn't the parable at least teach you that much?

Let's see who's doctrine is illogical.

"Hi, Johnny. Here's a flashlight that will shine forever and never stop shining."

"Oh, thank you! I kept losing the last one I had. But since this one shines forever that means I can never lose it!"

We receive a deposit, a down payment of the Spirit. A measure of the Spirit. A taste of what is to come, not the wholeness.
Just like when you buy a house and put a down payment on it, not the whole amount, guaranteeing payment in full at a later date.

"He anointed us, 22set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come." - 2 Corinthians 2:21

Jesus is the only one who had the fullness of the Holy Spirit:

34“For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God; for He gives the Spirit without measure." - John 3:34

A byproduct?
The blood is shed for the very purpose of forgiving sin.
You make it sound like forgiveness just came along for the ride.
It's amazing that there are Christians who do not understand that we are saved because God wipes away the record of our sin guilt.

"God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them" - 2 Corinthians 5:19

The blood was shed for this very purpose.

Do you even understand how ridiculous that statement is? There IS NO spiritual Switzerland.

“Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven; whose sin is covered.” (Psalms 32:1 KJV) But, according to you, the servant didn’t have faith in his master, right?

  • He didn’t have faith in his master’s word but he walked out the door to freedom anyway, right?
  • He didn’t have faith in his master’s word but instead of hiding from the cops, he goes out in public looking for a guy that would drop a dime on him in a heartbeat, right?
  • He didn’t have faith in his master’s word but instead of threatening to break the guy’s legs unless he pays him, he actually calls the cops to come arrest the fellow servant - like a crackhead who tries filing a police report over a dope deal gone bad, right?
This is why we Conditional Salvationists think you OSAS folks suffer from the mental disorder that is theological liberalism.

Just like "New Age Truth" is nothing but an Age Old Lie, so the false principle of OSAS is found to have been preached as far back as 6th century B.C., as the prophet Ezekiel testifies:

13:22 Because with lies ye (pastors/teachers) have made the heart of the righteous sad (by redefining "unprofitable reasonable service" as "works salvation"), whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him (eternal) life:

Yes, wise old Solomon, there really isn't anything new that is under the sun.

Mental disorder huh?

a mental disorder is think your righteousness will save you, when Paul makes it clear no guts of righteousness we do will ever save us, we are saved by Gods mercy

you conditional salvationists are mocking God and his perfect righteous es and judgment and excusing your sin thinking it is not really all that sinful, like the pharisee, you think you are ok, when the law says your not only not ok, but in peril and Jesus came to save you and you say, that’s ok jesus, I got this.

as for your example here, yeah, he did not have faith in the master, if he did, he would shown the same mercy to this man that his master showed him.

what a joke!

I fear yu will get a rude awakening one day, when you try to tell Jesus all these great deeds you did in his name
