Is the serpent referenced in Genesis Satan? Is there evidence for this?

Paul was from Tarsus, was he not?

Technically, yes. However, his name was connected to his prior name of Saul. Saul of Tarsus. After meeting Christ and converted, his name no longer include either Saul or Tarsus. He was from then on known as Paul, the Apostle. Or, the Apostle Paul, who we know for writing 13 letters we can read in the New Testament known as Books.

You seem to know Scripture well enough to mix and match and add lib. Tells me you knew the answer to this thread before creating it. What is your story, Buffy? What is your intentions here?

To inquire as to whether the serpent in Genesis is Satan, and where this evidenced.

It is clear that this person is trying to stir dissension with their previous profile picture to their duplicitous questions.

Where does it say that in Genesis?
The LORD GOD, you know, the one WHO created you, told the serpent in Genesis chapter 3:
13 And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.

Revelations 12:9
And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

2 Verses both highlighted with words beguiled and deceiveth.

There was 2 TREES mentioned, "Tree of Life and Tree of Knowledge."
The Serpent kept Eve from eating from the Tree of Life by deceiving her she could become wise as God by eating the other tree.

Why would the Serpent even care about this, or care that if Eve ate this she was disobeying God?

The serpent cared because the serpent in this story is God's opponent. And God's opponent equals to our Adversary. This is how we know this serpent is the "Adversary/Devil/Satan."

And to be specific, IT DOES NOT say this in Genesis, but it explains this from the other Books of the Bible.

Thank you. Now you're making sense

Thank you. Now you're making sense

The "Tree of Life" was designed to be eternal life.
This is why God wanted Eve to eat from this Tree.
So, anything that causes us to not eat from what God has designed for us is the Enemy.

If I don't get it, then explain.
You are violating your own standard. You have yet to show me where I did not answer a question you put to me, which you claimed I had done. Remember you said that is how it works? Or is it only one sided for you?

In the meantime, I would like to ask you if you believe yourself to be a spiritual person. Have you at any time in your life brushed against something you would call "The Other" in that experiencing it, you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that it is not self generated? If you have not, what fuels your seeking answers here and now? I mean, aside from the question you have posed about Satan. Giving Biblical proofs to someone who outright rejects the authority of the Bible does not seem fruitful. Perhaps another starting point would yield better results, for now, at least :)
