"There are NO WORKS needed to MAINTAIN salvation IN CHRIST" (Lafftur said this)

Look at Luke 13:7 regarding a tree that isn't bearing fruit.

Look at what can happen to that tree after it has received nourishment if it continues to bear no fruit.

Something to think about.
The "tree" that Yeshua/Jesus was speaking of was a "fig tree" that represented the Pharisees - after 3 years of the Messiah being among them, there was no fruit - lots of "fig leaves" but no fruit.

The fruit God was looking for was repentance unto SALVATION - belief to receive by faith Yeshua/Jesus as Messiah - Savior and Lord.

Luke 13:6-9 King James Version (KJV)
6 He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.

7 Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?

8 And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:

9 And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.

The request to give another year for the fig tree was because Yeshua/Jesus wanted His Father to wait until after His Death, Burial, Resurrection and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost.
With all due respect, this is your assumption.

I do not agree with your theory.

All that is written was written for OUR learning, not for the Pharisees learning.

For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope (Romans 15:4).
Really? All that is written, was written for OUR learning, not for the Pharisees learning?

You are wrong.

I seem to recall a late night meeting Yeshua/Jesus had with a Pharisee named Nicodemus........ something about being "born again"......... Take a look at John chapter 3.

Also, Yeshua/Jesus spoke often to the Pharisees in public........ "Woe unto you Pharisees, you hyprocrites!"

Ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth (2 Timothy 3:7).

Silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts...

Take heed to the scriptures.

Stop trying to bring a desired meaning to them.
I see you are at it again with the misreading and misapplication of scripture. rolleye0010.gif

Well this silly woman laden with sins, will be waiting for the report wherein you can proclaim you have achieved a state of "sinlessness" while on this planet.

It will be a along wait .... but I have time.

Focus more on the Bible than on sports and you won't be so quick to join a multitude into evil.

I directly quoted a verse than contradicts what she said and you joined her.

If saying things directly opposite to scripture isn't evil, than what is.
Who’s saying things directly opposite to Scripture?

Did Paul identify himself as Pharisee after converting?

A better way of putting it is; what is written was not SOLELY for the Pharisees learning.

Eleven places her faith in the absolute fullness of Jesus Christ. Where is she led away with divers lusts? This ought to be good.

Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep (Luke 6:25)

Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord (James 4:9-10).

I suspect these scriptures will have "no effect" due to a tradition of men that has corrupted so many (Mark 7:13).

There truly are scoffers in the last time (2 Peter 3:3).

The tradition of men is....... 'I secure my own salvation by my performance."

God states clearly this is how He saves (done)......

8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—
