Protests in California, southern California, are ramping up as this is also a Constitutional issue. The organizer there being repeatedly threatened with arrest. First under a felony charge and now the latest threat being that of a midemeanor.
Police state tactics are being reported too and of course those offenders are police.

I'm 65 and I am out there working as my job is considered essential. I don't think the government should be subsidizing anyone. In reality, it is the hard working taxpayer that is paying for these subsidies.

If you have no underlying health conditions, and a robust immune system....then it seems to me that, based on what we know thus far, that you should be fine. Others however are not as fortunate.

The money does not exist so the economy will pay. Although Trump says they are paid for by the Tariffs that are charged on what we import from China. So we pay when we spend our money and the prices are higher.

During the last crash of the housing market they loaned money that did not exist. There were people that lost their home because the payments were so much higher than they should have been. The Banks got bailed out but no on helped the people that had to give up their home.

There is only one corrupt person but a lot of people trusted him. I trusted him. I use to trust science more than I do now. I think he should have to give an account of himself before Congress and answer whatever questions they have for him. Everyone trusted him and everyone put their signature on the 1.2 trillion dollar budget: congress, the senate and the president. There are people that say he was considered to be the most trusted person in Science and yet there are 200,000 people dead. This is something we need to look into. The president says he is doing an investigation. We will see if he really does or if he is a part of the cover up.

My son-in-law is a doctor in Calgary. He has basically been laid off since elective surgeries were cancelled waiting for the rush of COVID-19 patients that never came. And Calgary has the highest number of cases in western Canada. The hospitals are almost empty everywhere.

And that includes an idiot health officer Trudeau appointed, who is one of the 7 top doctors in WHO. She literally led Canada astray in every single aspect of the disease, and yet, we still haven't had it back.

I am still extremely careful with my suppressed immune system, heart disease and lung damage. I am still isolating, going in 9 weeks. But, with care, most cases could have been prevented. Sometimes I do think this whole pandemic is a plot by China and the UN to take over the world. Only time will tell, I guess.

None-the-less, I have great compassion and pity for all those who have died because of this virus. Too many unnecessary deaths!

The Gov is not subsidising us. They are running a pyramid scheme to take the money from the next generation to pay back the money they stole from us. Social Security was very well funded and there was more than enough money to pay for our retirement. The reason for this virus is to get rid of old people so no one has to pay for them. This is the way communists think. They have no regard for human life because they have so many people. So like Nazi Germany they want to get rid of the dead weight and the people that do not pay their way and contribute. I was trained for the VietNam war and a lot of our training was on how to be on guard for the traps that Charlie sets for people. I have a friend that had a leg blown off from a claymore mine because Charlie set a trap for him. That is a story all in itself. Still the Bible says to love our enemy and do good even when their intentions are evil and that is exactly what we do. We continue to do good no matter how evil their intentions are.

We have the same problem here with the director of the NIH. I have wondered for years how they can spend all that money and do all that research and so little seems to come out of it in return for the amount of money that was spent.

Too much money was spent keeping people alive. They can not continue to do that. It is to their credit though that they did give the baby boomers back what they paid in. It just does not look like there is anyone to do that for this next generation. They want paid now and they are not willing to save money for their retirement the way our generation did. It was a lot of sacrifice to have money to live on as we got older.

The total shutdown of North America over the COVID19 pandemic since about the middle of March 2020 has had a tremendous negative impact all around, particularly in how Democratic governors have become tyrannical, and loss of civil liberties has taken place (to say nothing of all the other serious issues which have come about).

After looking at the timeline of this pandemic, it would appear that a total shutdown was not necessary, provide the governments of the United States and Canada had acted in concert, and acted as soon as WHO announced that the coronavirus outbreak was a global health emergency.

This announcement was made on January 30, 2020: “The World Health Organization announced Thursday that the outbreak of a deadly and fast-spreading strain of coronavirus constitutes a global health emergency.” (NPR)

On January 31 the response from the administration was that “Any foreign national who has traveled within China in the last 14 days will not be allowed to enter the United States, according to a proclamation from President Trump.” A rather weak response. But incoming flights from China were not stopped immediately. Then on March 11 travel from 26 European countries was banned, and it was only on March 13, that a national emergency was declared. So for about a month and a half the US government did virtually nothing.

But here is how a total shutdown of the economy of North America could have been avoided completely.

1. QUARANTINE FACILITIES: Since the USA has had pandemics coming from China (and other parts of the world) on a regular basis, Mr. Trump should have ordered the setting up of proper quarantine facilities at every international airport and port soon after he took office. There are only 20 such facilities in the whole of America (and perhaps not even adequate for hordes of travelers).

2. BORDERS: Both the northern and southern borders should have been shut down completely on January 31 for a period of 30 days (subject to subsequent review).

3. INTERNATIONAL TRAVELERS: All international travelers should have been quarantined on January 31, and released after proper testing.

4. INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS: All international flights into and from the USA should have been stopped on February 1, for a period of 30 days (subject to subsequent review).

5. CANADA: The Canadian government should also have been asked to shut down all international flights on February 1 for the same period. Lack of cooperation would result in serious repercussions.

6. INTERSTATE TRAVEL: All non-essential and non-emergency interstate travel should have been shut down for 30 days, following which the situation should have been assessed.

As one can see, the control of the entry of infected people from outside North America was a rather simple matter. But it needed to be enforced properly and immediately, and no exceptions should have been allowed. This would have easily prevented the total shut down of America, and all the issues it has raised (including the numbers who were infected and who died).

Furthermore, Dr. Ben Carson (an accomplished medical surgeon) is already in the Trump administration. There was nothing to stop him from being appointed as the Head of any task force put together to develop further strategies. He should have been the voice of the administration, and there was no need for Mr. Trump to have daily battles with the hostile media.

Since Trump vowed to drain the swamp, and Fauci and Birx were an integral part of the swamp, he did not fire them three years ago, and therefore they took control of the total fiasco which has subsequently occurred. Mr. Trump gets an F for failing to vet these conspirators and to set up a proper task force, as well as for failing to properly drain the swamp in every department.

Furthermore, the nation was allowed to be distracted and impoverished by the bogus Mueller Witch Hunt and the even more bogus Impeachment Hoax, all of which could have been (and should have been) shut down under the Constitution and existing laws. The Democrats had everyone focused on their phony impeachment efforts while the country was under attack.

According to Wiki the Huanan Seafood Market had been closed on 1 January 2020 for "cleaning and disinfection. Shi Zhengli’s the notorious batwomen said she was notified on Dec 30, 2019. At first there were 8 and then 42 patients. So if WHO did not do anything until a month later they let this disease alone for to long.

It is easy to look back to see what should have been done. It is not always easy to predict the future and to see what should be done.

there has been deaths in nursing homes near where I live. Hospital staff are rightly concerned...if there are not enough hosptials to take people, field hosptials will need to be set up otherwise you have people dying in the streets. the lockdown measures are to PREVENT huge numbers of people dying, because if more people die, well you wont even have an economy anyway.

its not just in places like NYC but close knit communities as well. Of course, people will protest anything if they cant just live as they please and make money.

those that live on farms or working in hosptials etc arent doing it for the economy, they are working to help people, you know EAT and survive.

But you are correct in that China knew about this virus long before that (probably from September). Indeed they applied for a patent for a vaccine (reverse engineered, but that's another story) the day after President Xi made his announcement. And Fauci knew about this virus even earlier, since he provided 3.7 million dollars to that lab for research on coronavirus.
