Mark 1:6-8 John wore clothing made of camel's hair, with a leather belt around his waist, and he ate locusts and wild honey. And this was his message: "After me comes the one more powerful than I, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie. I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit."

Planet Earth is going through 3 baptisms and so will we because we are to inherit planet Earth.

What are the three baptisms?

Water = Noah’s Flood
Spirit = Outpouring of Holy Spirit on all flesh (people)
Fire = God pours out His All Consuming Fire that destroys everyone and everything that does NOT know Him or love Him...The 3 Hebrews we’re not consumed in the Fire because Yeshua/Jesus was with them, but only because they loved God and refused to bow to ANY other....this is the baptism of Fire....it proves our love for God alone..

I have heard that the honey locust, a tree that grows all around the Mediterranean could well be the atual meaning of John's eating locust. Many to this day eat the pods of the tree. Also there is a very good chocolate imitation made from that same pod.

It is called an ALGAROBA in Spanish.

There is immersion in water baptism. Its believers baptism. For the individual. A representation of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. It doesn't eternally save someone but is an act of obedience.

Then there is Holy Spirit baptism. This is the Holy Spirit empowering a group of believers. It's not about eternal salvation. It happened in Acts with the Holy Spirit being given to the local church at Jerusalem and other places in Acts.

There may also be a figurative Holy Spirit baptism at eternal salvation being given.. but I dont see it clearly in scripture

The baptisms are listed in your concordance. KJV. Baptisms of: water, repentance, sufferings, buried by baptism (dead to the old life), baptism into the body of believers. To be baptised is to become a part of, and to be entered into. Many see the word baptism and think mostly of water, but there are many others as listed. We should know all of them and their functions. See Hebrews 5: 12-14 and continuing the context into 6: 1-3. Baptisms are part of the foundation, but the growing processes are found in the obedience to God's word, ( moving onto perfection, verse one) AFTER the foundations of understanding are established.
