Long forums

I am guilty of trying to cut things short, thinking some things should be a given, and then because I didn't put up 50 disclaimers, people will chime in with ifs and buts and question my intent, and also some people just like contradicting and can't wait to spot a post without everything said explicitly so they ignore the main idea of the post, and come to argue.
Also, precision matters. Some topics are complex.
It's especially important if you're explaining some teaching, you can't just leave out how you came to those conclusions and you need to support your view with the Bible, so anyone reading can understand how you came to your main point. If this is skipped, the post might look very confusing for others.

What would we do without those smiling little dabs of yellow?

What's worse is a sig line that is far too long.

So that if Mr Long Sigline posts several times on one page, most of that page is turned into their repeated signature line.
And the sig line itself is longer than many of their posts.

Do you mean LONG POSTS? If so, I understand. Forums are the Pages various Threads/Posts appear. BDF Forum, Miscellaneous Forum, etc.....

Sometimes it is necessary to have a lot of information posted by the Author of a Thread, and, if that's proven by it's content, I don't mind. Some will read the Post regardless of it's length, and some won't.

What really bothers me is when someone posts such a Comment WITHOUT USING PARAGRAPHS!

Determined by function stacks, among them Judging vs Perceiving. In short:
Perceivers typically like options open, are more flexible in thinking and decision making, while Judgers like clear categorization (this has nothing to do with being judgmental, it's not a negative trait). Judging dominant personality will tend to categorize things (more in black and white way) because their priority is having things tightly organized, while a Perceiving dominant personality will tend to look further, their priority is to stay open in their thinking, and they are more flexible.

I will read long posts from top to bottom, usually, unless it's one of those long exchanges between people having a heated argument.

Sometimes people add a TL;DR (Too Long; Didn't Read) at the bottom of their long post and then a concise summary of what they said.

Sorry! I write long posts all the time. If I am discussing something that is important to me, and I have studied it, I feel it is important to write it out in full.

If people don't want to read it, that is their right. Except maybe people who won't read it because they disagree with what I am saying. If only one person reads it, and it was meant for that person, then I am good.

You are able to teach about some things concerning biblical language though. Often, those things require explanation.

Sometimes...... OK often, a long post is necessary to present a message or an idea. (or a warning)
Regrettably, the majority of subjects seem to cause arguments and one must do long posts with heaps of scripture to "prove" an argument rather than simply have a discussion or do a cooperative study with others.
Perhaps our behaviour toward each other worse online than in real life?

I'm working a little more to shorten my posts such as by hyperlinking big blocks of scripture, staying on topic with little to no digression, not engaging in theory or arguments. That alone would reduce a lot of the burden to the reader.

It often takes mere seconds to drive by and ask a question with one or two sentences about a complicated/deep subject. It might require a dissertation to answer it to a satisfactory degree. I think people need to be prepared to read a lot if they want to understand the Bible because it is very rich in detail.

LOL How many words are needed? Wrong application.

Perhaps they feel that more words will accomplish more than few words. But the opposite is the case.
