I been studying research studies on police and racial disparities. Here is one from MSU.edu.

“We found that the race of the officer doesn’t matter when it comes to predicting whether black or white citizens are shot," Cesario said. "If anything, black citizens are more likely to have been shot by black officers, but this is because black officers are drawn from the same population that they police. So, the more black citizens there are in a community, the more black police officers there are.”

https://msutoday.msu.edu/news/2019/the-truth-behind-racial-disparities-in-fatal-police-shootings/

I believe we should be looking at the data and not just the media. This is a ongoing study in which some of you may want to add your own research. We need facts not opinions.

Another question would be what has contributed to these high crime areas. Welfare? Drug cartels Fentanyl ( other drugs) release within our country, poor assimilation, etc.

I am by no means a pacifist. I believe that if a man commits murder. He should be hung. Be he black white brown orange or red. No man's life is worth more than another's...

Yah I agree.

Do you have any data about the subject to add?

Do you have any input on what has contributed to crime infested neighborhoods where police are more active?

What are the numbers for race who are in poverty?

If we can examine the facts then we can know what should we be supporting as seekers of truth.

I agree with you 100%. Unfortunately, The cop's are too big of wimps to go after the thug's and criminals'
so they take it out on innocent. This is what troubles me.

But do you have evidence of this? Like data to compare between cases where the criminals are arrested compared to incidents where a innocent individual was abused? If they are isolated cases then we shouldn't use such broad language.

I was searching for data for the percentage of High Ranking Police Officers that happen to African American - as I suspect that several cities are well represented at the top positions... Which would suggest an interesting prism for potentially examining other underlying problems. I suspect that poor training and ineptness is a bigger problem than people might suspect. Unfortunately, my quick quirey only produced general data and demographics...

When was the last time that you heard that the police stormed a crack house and made arrests.? Oh yeah, that girl in which police rushed in and shot her over a subpoena...

Don't get me wrong. I believe that there is a extremely low % of bigoted cop's. Like for instance in my
the police dept. is worthless. They don't arrest anyone. There is no money in it. And I AM talking from personal experience. In larger, more educated cities, I think that police are decent and respectful and more importantly. Do their Job!

I had heard when ''El Chapo'' began naming names in high places who he was paying off for protection the court case went from open to the public to closed to the public .. It led me to think people in high political places were in on it with drug cartels and do provide protection .. ''Easy money''

The real issue is that if black police officers shoot black criminals, the matter of race cannot be brought up. And that is why there should have been a strict policy of always pairing black and white officers in all the cities of America. And in predominantly black communities, only black officers would be allowed. Every time there have been riots it has always come back to race. Yet this simple solution was never applied and no lessons were learned.

However, when it comes to rioters, looters, and anarchists, and domestic terrorists such as Antifa, the police should be replaced by the National Guard. And the governor of Minnesota allowed 48 hours to go by before getting the National Guard of the scene. In the meantime, police and firefighters allowed the rioting to go out of control.

A lot of plain stupidity has been left unaddressed for decades, and now we are seeing the results of this negligence.

Here is another study from the National Academy of Sciences.

"We did not find evidence for anti-Black or anti-Hispanic disparity in police use of force across all shootings, and, if anything, found anti-White disparities when controlling for race-specific crime. While racial disparity did vary by type of shooting, no one type of shooting showed significant anti-Black or -Hispanic disparity. The uncertainty around these estimates highlights the need for more data before drawing conclusions about disparities in specific types of shootings."

From the research studies I have been reading and posting, there isn't a race problem because it is far from one race of cops involved in fatal shootings. But it does sound like as you mentioned, there are some policies that need changing to strengthen professionality.

So far I believe we largely have a media problem based on my ongoing research. We will see.

I hear about good stuff all the time but I am connected to police news and have police friends. It happens all the time. But the good stuff doesn't sell as good as bad within the news. Plus you have to account if the media has an agenda.

Interesting. I wouldn't doubt it. After all how easy certain politicians over the years have made our border practically a drive thru drug provider. Flooding these cities to keep it's people high.

Stupidity indeed. Many of these cities mayors told the police to basically stand down. Stupid. They should be forced out of office immediately. Unfortunately if the government uses too much force then they will be viewed by the riot sympathisers as the oppressors.

In Minnesota the four police officers involved was, white, black, Latino, Asian that is about as diverse group of police officers you can get.
