I’ve never done drugs or smoked cigarettes or anything like that, but I can appreciate a beer occasionally or a glass of wine. I’m just the southern sweet tea drinker and coffee addict.
I had beer before never liked the taste but it's good when your making beer bread.

I'm in my 30's and I've never had an alcoholic drink in my life. I've also never done any drugs. Not trying to brag, just saying.

Maybe I'll live longer because of it. But I do have other unhealthy habits....so maybe I won't. :p
Do you regret that choice?

I'd like to post a thing or two
..but whenever I try it says my pics are to big. Boo 👎🏼
If you can resize them in an editing program or possibly better yet, upload them to an image hosting site that allows you to resize in the process, would it solve your problem? (I believe it would :D) My recommendation is Post Images (<- that is a link :))

They give an opion of resizing to 640 pixels which is quite an adequate width :geek:(y):geek:

Even 320 is sufficient in some cases ;)

You are welcome, TamLynn :) Some of the pluses of having your images uploaded to an image hosting site are, if you save the url (always select the direct link from the options given) for your images, you can use the same url over and over any time you may want to post the same image. You simply need to put the direct link in the proper image tags, which look like this, minus the spaces:

[ img]
direct link image url here[ /img]

I prefer using urls for posting images for a number of reasons. One is that you cannot post images in PMs here without a url, perhaps a minor consideration. The main reason I prefer using a url source as opposed to having it come from my computer is the fact that, when someone quotes a forum post with an image, if that image was sourced from the original poster's computer, the image itself does not transfer with the quoted post. Only a link to the image is provided :(

Also, if you do not save the direct link when you upload an image for posting, if you know where to find it on the boards here, you can click on it and then drag it to the address bar at the top of the page; you will see the address in the address bar change, and it will take you to where the image is hosted online, and you can copy that url. This may not work in every browser or on phones, but it does work in Chrome :)

Would you believe me if I told you that I find this impressive?

I know a little to be sure :D I may understand it a bit more than some because I have used those functions and applications a lot :) Even so, I would not necessarily call myself tech savvy since there is an enormous amount I do not know :giggle:

I also work in a photo lab (or did before the COVID layoffs ;)), which is an industry that was very much affected by the onslaught of digital everything. One thing many do not understand is that when an image is scanned, it is often scanned at 300 pixels per inch (ppi) which is optimal for photographic printing. However, a computer monitor only requires 72 ppi to properly display an image, sooooooooooo, when an image that is 300 ppi is uploaded as is to Christian Chat, it is essentially 4 times larger than is needed or expected to be. Yikes. Those huge images can be easily resized in simple image editors :) Most computers have such a program, and there are many offered free online, also. Online editors may not provide a url to your resized image, because they are not image hosting sites, in which case you would save the resized image to your device (without overwriting the original; rename it by adding a letter or number onto the end of the original file so the two files stay together in the same folder). Simply uploading the image to a hosting site such as postimages allows you to bypass all that by selecting the resize option when uploading :D

At this point, I really don't. My sister died from alcoholism last year. That alone made me not ever want to start drinking.

As for drugs....nope. Nothing against those who do them or those who would like to try them at some point. Personally, I just don't feel the need to. IMO, life is beautiful enough without them. :)

Thank you, Magenta. I appreciate that.

What makes it more tragic is that she was only 39. She could have lived a lot longer had it not been for the alcoholism. So sad....but she'll always be in my mind and heart. And she is missed.

She was a really sweet person too. God rest her soul.

You are welcome, G_N. . . co-incidentally, I was 39 when I first got clean and sober after crying out to God for help.

I did not believe in Him back then, and yet within days I was clean and sober after 24 years of substance use and abuse.

Nor was I asking for help to quit using :geek: I just wanted the pain to stop :censored:

I think we all live with a certain amount of emotional and psychological pain. It is difficult to live in this world and not be adversely affected by the sin of others and our own, too, even before we may come to understand it as sin. Trying to drink or drug it away (also known as self-medicating) did not only not work, but got me into more difficulties of various sorts, and took me places I really did not want to be :censored:
