If life gives you lemons, and you make lemonade, but you hate lemonade........................ is life a jerk?

Something to think about.

Life better also give you water and sugar, or your lemonade is gonna suck.

Something I have learned from watching the mistakes others make:

If I try to have a perfect life, it's gonna suck. If I try to have every detail of my life just-so, I will waste my life in the effort and have nothing but a lot of stress and frustration.

If I learn to let some details go and focus on the parts that are really important, it is possible to have a good life... not a PERFECT life, but a pretty good one.

Happy Father's Day!
Here is a great quote that I had to share from this mornings service:
"If you are God Fearing - Fear No One!"
Your courage will endure (ie you will not succumb to fear mongering) if you believe that...
"You have a role; You Matter to God; You are not safe; THEREFOR FEAR NO ONE!"

You can learn a lot from a dog.

My dog is on an eight foot lead, attached to a two hundred seventy foot wire "run." I was riding the lawnmower around the yard and he was at the end of his run. He saw me coming and... you know that look a dog gets when he starts to panic? He couldn't leave his run, he didn't want to run past me, and there was nowhere else to go. He started pacing back and forth with his head down, trying to gauge if it was safe to make a run for it past the lawnmower.

I of course knew I was not going to run over my dog. But I didn't want him to panic, so I said, "Dan, go" and pointed to the end of his run. He went to the end of his run and sat down... exactly where he was before he saw the lawnmower coming. He kept watching me of course, but he was no longer panicked about the situation. The only difference was, this time he was there because I had told him to go there.

This didn't change anything else in his circumstances. There was still a big noisy lawnmower operating in the area, and he still had no idea where I was about to go with it. But I told him to go there, so he figured that was the safe place to be, because I had told him to go there.

Sometimes I wish I was as smart as my dog. I'd probably panic a lot less.

I think of the disciples that were killed for their faith, its inspiring to know that they died for a worthy cause.

THE TALE OF TWO WOLVES:

ONE EVENING, AN ELDERLY
CHEROKEE BRAVE TOLD HIS
GRANDSON ABOUT A BATTLE THAT
GOES ON INSIDE PEOPLE.

HE SAID "MY SON, THE BATTLE IS
BETWEEN TWO 'WOLVES' INSIDE US ALL.
ONE IS EVIL. IT IS ANGER,
ENVY, JEALOUSY, SORROW,
REGRET, GREED, ARROGANCE,
SELF-PITY, GUILT, RESENTMENT,
INFERIORITY, LIES, FALSE PRIDE,
SUPERIORITY, AND EGO.

THE OTHER IS GOOD.
IT IS JOY, PEACE LOVE, HOPE SERENITY,
HUMILITY, KINDNESS, BENEVOLENCE,
EMPATHY, GENEROSITY,
TRUTH, COMPASSION AND FAITH."

THE GRANDSON THOUGH ABOUT
IT FOR A MINUTE AND THEN ASKED
HIS GRANDFATHER:

"WHICH WOLF WINS?..."

THE OLD CHEROKEE SIMPLY REPLIED,
"THE ONE THAT YOU FEED"
