Things to consider:
How many ways can a person be saved?
How many denominations are there, are they all correct in their theology? If not which one is right?
If there were 12 Apostles what was the purpose of including Paul?
Does God think it's not important to understand (discern) The Bible?

The Best Way to gain Knowledge in Scripture is to ask questions.
Never settle in one understanding but always be open minded.
Study what you have learned to codify your understanding
There is not one person who can say they know everything about the Bible.
Be suspicious of those who flash their diplomas.
Always ask for scripture to prove the idea.

According to scripture everyone deserves death and eternal damnation but Jesus died as the perfect sacrifice so that they who will believe in Him shall be saved from God's coming wrath.
Knowing that Jesus shed His blood, died, was resurrected to Glory and sits at the right Hand of The Father is the best place to start learning more about our promise of heaven for those written in the Lamb's Book of Life.

No one is ever guilty for not understanding. This is from the Word. It is written if a person is not aware of a sin he bears not guilt of transgression until he is made aware of it.

Pro 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; Fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Deu 32:46-47 he said to them, "Take to your heart all the words with which I am warning you today, which you shall command your sons to observe carefully, even all the words of this law. For it is not an idle word for you; indeed it is your life. And by this word you will prolong your days in the land, which you are about to cross the Jordan to possess."

Psa 19:7-11 The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.
The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.
The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the Lord are true; they are righteous altogether.
They are more desirable than gold, yes, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb.
Moreover, by them Your servant is warned; In keeping them there is great reward.

Psa 119:9-11 How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Your word.
With all my heart I have sought You; Do not let me wander from Your commandments.
Your word I have treasured in my heart, That I may not sin against You.

Mat 4:4 But He answered and said, "It is written, 'Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God."

1Cor 14:20 Brethren, do not be children in your thinking; yet in evil be infants, but in your thinking be mature.

Col 1:9-10 For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;

2Ti 3:16-17 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;
so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.

Things to consider:
How many ways can a person be saved?
One Way.. The Way of the LORD Jesus Christ..

How many denominations are there, are they all correct in their theology? If not which one is right?
Hundreds..
None that i know are 100% correct in all their teachings..

BUT!!! There are Core Doctrines of salvational importance and then there are side issues that have no bearing on ones salvation.. We got to discern between the important doctrines that have to be correct and believed and the side issues that will not see one damned if they have the wrong belief about them..

If there were 12 Apostles what was the purpose of including Paul?
Paul was Paul.. I have no problem with Him being called an Apostle or being called a Disciple.. This is a side issue..

Does God think it's not important to understand (discern) The Bible?
Of course it is important to understand the Way of salvation and makes ones personal repose to it..

The Best Way to gain Knowledge in Scripture is to ask questions.
It is critical to ask God directly through prayer.. And then investigate anything any human says by comaring it to the Word of God..

Never settle in one understanding but always be open minded.
I am settled in my understanding that Jesus was born of the virgin Mary and was without sin and gave himself to be sacrificed as the Lamb of God to provide atonement for my sins.. Some things we should not be open minded about.. We should have a guarded mind.. Guarded by the Holy Spirit on core doctrines of salvational importance..

Study what you have learned to codify your understanding
There is not one person who can say they know everything about the Bible.
Agreed.. That's why fellowship is so important..

Be suspicious of those who flash their diplomas.
Agreed..

Always ask for scripture to prove the idea.
Agreed

According to scripture everyone deserves death and eternal damnation but Jesus died as the perfect sacrifice so that they who will believe in Him shall be saved from God's coming wrath.
Amen to that.. (y)

Knowing that Jesus shed His blood, died, was resurrected to Glory and sits at the right Hand of The Father is the best place to start learning more about our promise of heaven for those written in the Lamb's Book of Life.
Yes indeed..

there is no penalty for not understanding something. That is not a sin and especially
if you weren't even aware of it. Still we should read and try to understand scripture
to the best of our ability. Our salvation comes by faith by grace and that means you
are saved. We cannot earn salvation and we cannot lose it. Jesus gave us the remedy
if you make a mistake to come to Him for redemption so you can be restored...

I agree

1 Corinthians 3:
11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;

13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.

15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

The Best Way to gain Knowledge in Scripture is to ask questions.
Who we ask is of utmost importance...
James 1:5 (NASB) But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

Hello Pemican : What a vast array of scripture references! ( Old and New Testament !) What is your point? Is there anyone on this site that would argue with them? Just wondering.

I think the blessing and authority the disciples will have in heaven is determined by their special obedience to Jesus and following him. I believe in the Pentecostal theory. The bible says the one with the faith of eating vegetables should not condemn the one eating meat and vice versa. Just look at what works for you, and think about the simplicity of the message being preached and how it can relate to you, and the core doctrines.
