History is full of examples of this. One I love to remember took place in Spain during the black death. The Spanish had welcomed the Jews, but now they had just turned against them.

The Jewish people were instructed to wash their hands before they ate. It was a symbol to be used as a symbol of cleansing themselves of sin, but I don’t think all Jews knew this. They knew the Lord instructed them to do this so they obeyed. As a result, many of the Jews didn’t die of black death. We know of this because the gentiles recorded that they thought the Jews cursed then with the black death because many more gentiles died of it than Jews.

They were told to sacrifice valuable livestock for salvation from sin. They weren’t told about Christ, and I am sure many didn’t understand it was a symbol of Christ. They were only told blood was a symbol of life and God gave it to them upon the altar. Lev. 17:11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls for it is the blood that makes an atonement for the soul.

How many of us can say of something we do that we don’t understand why but God told us to do it so we do? We are so lucky to live in an age where some of the mystery is revealed to us.

I have read that in the Spanish branch of the Inquisition, 20,000,000 Jews were killed. I find that incredible in that in many of the cathedrals here in Spain are likenesses of the star r of David in the stained glass or in the masonry and stonework. Beyond the fact that many, no , a lot of the so-called Spanish surnames are of Hebrew ascentry.

I do not believe there were 20,000,000 people in Iberia, let alone the rest of Europe mainland constituting the EU. But listen to, and believe what you will. What some believe is their truth. However make sure it is eternally true before believing.

That is my point, exactly. Can we follow the Lord without asking Him to explain every part of it, certain that if God directs it that the road is right? I think we can.

The Jews sacrificed valuable precious cattle for their sins as a part of their repentance and I don't think they had but a vague idea of all we know of Christ. that blood was a part of. Some did it as pagans did, to feed God and God scolded them for that. They were only told that blood was the blood of life and God had given it on the altar for them.

We are told not to let our minds have thoughts that are not of good report, but not given a full explanation of why.

He told us to sell all that we had, then come and follow Him -
we did this in '82', and are doing this now, '2020' +
but we still cannot comprehend His unique, Holy, Sacred, Love for mankind...
yes, it is still a great mystery, this most precious Love that breaks ones heart in two -
we keep praying that we will keep-on growing/learning how to love/serve Him
more and more each and every day as we go along and along on the path of life
unto the end of our earthly journey'...

I think the mystery has always been revealed for people that choose not to follow or believe in God or be led by the spirit cannot understand the mysteries. Think about Daniel, he understood dreams and Joseph. Both of them were made important and were very intelligent and lovers of God in their times.
