In Philippians 3:19, the Holy Spirit said through Paul, that enemies of the Cross of Christ are declared to have their end in destruction.

Why and what does the Holy Spirit mean by this statement?

Paul did not write, "The enemies of the Cross (sic) of Christ" are declared to have "their end in destruction." That's twisting the text.

It says, "For many walk, of whom I often told you, and now tell you even weeping, that they are enemies of the cross of Christ, whose end is destruction...."

"They... whose end is destruction", not "the enemies of the Cross have their end in destruction". It is noted that they are enemies, and that their end is destruction. There is no causality in Paul's statement. Destruction is the end for all who do not have Christ as their Saviour.

I strongly suspect that you have begun this thread and twisted Paul's words as a pretext to preach Jimmy Swaggart's aberrant version of the gospel.

Spare us.

To think we need something other than what God has provided for us in Christ and His Atoning Work at Calvary, is to tell God, “The Cross was not enough.” Until the Church returns to faith in the Cross alone, there will be no repentance granted, for repentance can only take place as one acknowledges the Truth (2 Timothy 2:24-26), which is Jesus Christ and Him Crucified."

Please take heed to what is being said above! 99.9999% believe that Grace flows without Faith in Christ and His Finished Work at Calvary Cross where the victory was won, i.e., "The Blood of Jesus."

Giving someone a Scripture without pointing them to the ONLY place that Scripture can bring the Faith they need, which is the Cross of Christ, is what has had the Church held paralyzed for centuries!

Christianity doesn’t work on our terms, but rather God’s, and His terms are the Way of Christ and His Cross!

We March On!

This is the worst corruption of Scripture I have seen from you. Here is what 2 Timothy 2:24-26 actually says:

The Lord’s bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will.

It says the exact opposite of what "Pastor Curtis" claims. God grants repentance FIRST and knowledge of the truth is SUBSEQUENT.

To Paul, the Cross was the means of salvation, sanctification, and spiritual victory. That is why we preach the Cross. Is it enough? Absolutely!

it's not like no one ever told you this before, MOTC, but Paul evidently did not believe that the cross was enough, without the empty tomb..

if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is vain, your faith also is vain. Moreover we are even found to be false witnesses of God, because we testified against God that He raised Christ, whom He did not raise, if in fact the dead are not raised. For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised; and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins.
(1 Corinthians 15:14-17)
He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.
(Romans 4:25)
i will believe the gospel in the scripture over Jimmy Swaggart or whoever this 'pastor Curtis' is, any day ;)

That's an outrageous claim. I've never met any Christian who believed that grace of God was received apart from faith in Jesus and what He did for us on the cross. What are you trying to prove, can you please get to your main point? You sound like those titles "Women envy her. Plastic surgeons hate her. But just this one simple ingredient made her look 20 years younger" and then 20 pages of clickbait with commercials.

This thread is further proof that "MessageoftheCross" is not here to discuss anything. He's here to be a mouthpiece for the Jimmy Swaggart organization.

He really should be banned.

I would offer. Its a statement of unbelief, no faith as it is written. God knows the end from the beginning.

Deuteronomy 32:20 And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their "end" shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith.

In the same way with faith. We receive the end from the beginning . The new testament looks back to that glorious day .The old testament saints looked ahead by the same spirit of faith as it is written

1 Peter 1:11 9-11 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls. Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.
