The Pope’s big gold chair – the one he occupies when he welcomes visitors to audiences in Rome. It’s interesting to note that it is really a wooden chair, covered with thin layers of gold leaf.

Up until 1978 the Pope was carried in a Sedia Gestatoria.
This chair has metal rings attached to each side, allowing use as a gestatorial chair which is a ceremonial throne on which popes were carried on shoulders.

On prior occasions, as in the case of Pope Stephen III, popes were carried on the shoulders of men.

Sedia gestatoria were richly adorned , silk-covered armchairs, fastened on a suppedaneum, on each side of which were two gilded rings, through which long rods were passed allowing twelve footmen to carry the throne on their shoulders.

Now Compare to Exodus 25:10-14 and Joshua 3:3

Exodus 25:10-14
The Ark
10 “Have them make an ark of acacia wood—two and a half cubits long, a cubit and a half wide, and a cubit and a half high. 11 Overlay it with pure gold, both inside and out, and make a gold molding around it. 12 Cast four gold rings for it and fasten them to its four feet, with two rings on one side and two rings on the other. 13 Then make poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold. 14 Insert the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark to carry it.

Joshua 3:3
giving orders to the people: "When you see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the Levitical priests carrying it, you are to move out from your positions and follow it.

QUESTION:
If God's Law resides in the Ark, what then resides in the Sedia Gestatoria (Pope Chair)?

The structures of authority like the law of Moses, the seat of Moses, far from becoming invalid are fulfilled and lifted up in the New Covenant.

Jesus respected Moses and adopted the governing structures established in the OT. That he picked 12 Apostles and invested in them His own authority to govern attests to that.

The Chair of Moses is the seat of authority and Moses could and did make adjustments to make obeying the law practical to do. For example, Moses allowed divorce. So, divorce is a man made tradition not a Divine Tradition. The Chair of Moses is a seat of Divine authority. That being the case it isn't subject to a temporal existence. Divinely established it continues to serve in the New Covenant.

WHAT Jesus taught about the chair of Moses.

Matt.23
23 Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,

2 Saying The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:

3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.

Jesus is teaching His Disciples to continue in obedience to the Chair ofn but not those who sit in it.

The Ark and the Chair do not typify one another.

The Arch of the Covenant is a type of the Virgin Mary's womb that carries the Word of God in Person.

Yes, they do, care to see in scripture?

No she isn't (that's Roman Catholicism's, even Jesuit, nonsense), care to see from scripture?

My last post showed many similarities between the Ark of the Covenant and
The Pope’s big gold chair – the Sedia Gestatoria.

The significance of this post is to show:
1) St. Peters Basilica is to Solomon's temple
2) The Chair of St. Peter is to the Ark of the Covenant,
3) and the man, the pope, who resides in the Chair of St. Peter is therefore claiming to be God.

This post shows a video of the Chair of St. Peter that resides inside St. Peters Basilica and its astounding similarities to the Ark of the Covenant when it was brought into Solomon's temple and the Glory of the Lord filled the temple as described in 2 Chronicles 5:2-14.

Compare 2 Chronicles 5:2-14 to the video on the Chair of St. Peter which is made of wood and overlaid with gilded bronze (gold).

2 Chronicles 5:2-14
The Ark Brought to the Temple
2 Then Solomon summoned to Jerusalem the elders of Israel, all the heads of the tribes and the chiefs of the Israelite families, to bring up the ark of the Lord’s covenant from Zion, the City of David. 3 And all the Israelites came together to the king at the time of the festival in the seventh month.

4 When all the elders of Israel had arrived, the Levites took up the ark, 5 and they brought up the ark and the tent of meeting and all the sacred furnishings in it. The Levitical priests carried them up; 6 and King Solomon and the entire assembly of Israel that had gathered about him were before the ark, sacrificing so many sheep and cattle that they could not be recorded or counted.

7 The priests then brought the ark of the Lord’s covenant to its place in the inner sanctuary of the temple, the Most Holy Place, and put it beneath the wings of the cherubim. 8 The cherubim spread their wings over the place of the ark and covered the ark and its carrying poles. 9 These poles were so long that their ends, extending from the ark, could be seen from in front of the inner sanctuary, but not from outside the Holy Place; and they are still there today. 10 There was nothing in the ark except the two tablets that Moses had placed in it at Horeb, where the Lord made a covenant with the Israelites after they came out of Egypt.

11 The priests then withdrew from the Holy Place. All the priests who were there had consecrated themselves, regardless of their divisions. 12 All the Levites who were musicians—Asaph, Heman, Jeduthun and their sons and relatives—stood on the east side of the altar, dressed in fine linen and playing cymbals, harps and lyres. They were accompanied by 120 priests sounding trumpets. 13 The trumpeters and musicians joined in unison to give praise and thanks to the Lord. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals and other instruments, the singers raised their voices in praise to the Lord and sang:

“He is good;
his love endures forever.”

Then the temple of the Lord was filled with the cloud, 14 and the priests could not perform their service because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled the temple of God.

While there are certainly some serious issues with the trappings of Catholicism, the fancy chair and its means of support are likely a matter of physics rather than a conscious attempt to imitate the ark of the covenant.

The Roman Catholic Church makes many claims in its councils, decrees, as well as in their traditions and architecture. It sounds that you are not aware of this.

Did you even bother to read post #6 and watch the video of the Chair of St. Peter?
Have you ever bothered to read some of the authoritative documents of RCC like Vatican 1? It says that the pontiff, "he is the supreme judge of the faithful" This is yet another example of pontiff claiming to be God. See Psalm 75:7

Psalm 75:7 ESV
But it is God who executes judgment, putting down one and lifting up another.

I'm curious as to the reasoning behind this op. but of course wiki does encourage genuine research at all times and only genuine historians and well known and respected authors have access to wording there

but really

what is the point here?

That is true about Wiki. However, you or myself are also able to edit entries in Wiki.
Wiki has a fact checker staff that are there to weed out trolls and false information. However, I don't know if that team reviews edits prior to their being published publicly.
I knew someone that found out Wiki has somewhere on their site the IP addy's of those who did troll and enter false information for various topics there. They even note the topic that was trolled. Very thorough folks from what I've heard.

Our King rode on a donkey. Nuff said.
I could resist, but why? The King of heaven's arse arrived in Jerusalem on an Arse, while the arse of a false sovereign rides on a chair layered in gold leaf that was first created by our King.
Matthew 23:17 You blind fools! For which is greater, the gold or the temple that has made the gold sacred?

The Prophecy

Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.
(Zechariah 9:9)

I've already seen it. The fact that the Arch and the Chair existed together in the worship of the Hebrews means they aren't types of each other.
