There are many different kinds of snares in the world.
You know those little sneaky traps people set for one another in attempts to win debate?
People just don't think it's a big deal? But it's from the evil one.

Psalms 119:110 The wicked have laid a snare for me: yet I erred not from thy precepts.
Psalms 140:5 The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah.
Jeremiah 5:26 For among my people are found wicked men: they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men.
Mark 12:13
And they send unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, to catch him in his words.
Matthew 22:15
Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might
entangle him in his talk.

May our conversations always be pure and transparent and bright and edifying............ Amen

Yes it is a big deal and unfortunately many are too weak or intimidated to stand up for their own beliefs. Then the media will be there to sway the masses as directed.

Strangely, I experienced more opposition and hostility from Christians when there's a slight difference in beliefs, people just can't look past that and focus on the fact we're serving the same God. I find it very upsetting, to the point that I don't feel at home around most Christians any more, it's been a feeling that had been gradually creeping in. Maybe it's just that CC has been so toxic lately. I keep to myself to not cause others to stumble in angry or arrogant ravings that usually ensue. Sometimes I am not sure should I be more bold.
I was really talking about Christians when writing this thread, and pointing out that many behave now like the Pharisees did back in the day.
All of us who are born again carry Jesus Christ within us. When someone tries to trap one of us, it is no different than trying to trap Jesus.
Something to think about.

I am ignoring so many people I find it hard to know what it being discussed. LOL. Debates are listed as a work of the flesh by Paul. Follow the Spirit. The servant of the Lord must not strive. The ignore feature helps me to stay unprovoked.

This is the end times, we are now under constant spiritual warfare hence the negativity and false doctrine. As if that isn't bad enough, there are fake christians who firmly believe they are living the truth. Prosperity theology, let us be tomorrow mentality etc. They have been deceived for many years, and no longer can discern the truth. Jesus asks to put all of our focus on him, not man, not the world and its values, ideals etc but him and not even on father , mother , wife, husband etc. Very few are doing that. Best way to tell straight off the bat is when they deny the corona virus is a hoax, and is being used for nefarious purposes. Sadly they cant see it because of what they are being taught at church .

Rejoice for this is the fulfillment of the Word. I believe the following text is a reference of what you have shared.

2Th 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
2Th 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
2Th 2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Let us pray for the lost to be found in these times. God bless you.

Hello again @SoulWeaver, this reminds me of something that I heard from apologist/theologian Norm Geisler. He said that the evil one started using "snares" on us back in the Garden of God. Basically, it's all about his three D's, Doubt, Deny, Disobey.

Satan and his minions tempt us by casting a shadow of doubt in our minds/hearts about the validity of God's word. Then, if their first "snare" works, and they are successful at getting us to "doubt" God's word, their next step/next "snare" is to get us to "deny" His word (to no longer believe that what God's been telling us/promising us in His word is true, at least in part, and/or at least for us personally).

Finally, if his demons are successful at capturing us in their first two snares, then convincing us to take the next step is an easy one for them, because disobedience is the natural result of our doubting it/denying that it's true.

Dr. Geisler went on to say that these "traps" have worked so well for Satan over the years (since the Garden) that he and his demons have never had to try a different approach with us

I searched for Scriptures about snares in the Bible, and found several Scriptures. Not one of them stated that Christians set snares for anyone, much less other Christians. Right or wrong, I would question anyone being Christian if they are setting snares to trap someone into making a mistake or something just to win a debate.

All that I found says snares are set by the deceiver and his servants.

"Keep me from the snares which they have laid for me, and the gins of the workers of iniquity." Psalms 141:9

I know what you mean. According to that Scripture about if one speaks likes angels but does not have the love to go with it, they are like clanging cymbals. I'm not anybody's judge, but some of the holier than thou people on here, when I read the contempt in their points, don't remind me of Christ whatsoever. Some should start getting reported like they so readily do unto others.

That should be so.
But in reality, you find Christians here doing the "so you're saying... [insert what you did not say]" or just trying to trap another using an arsenal of crafty ways in conversation because it's all about "being right". Spreading a net hoping the other person will fall into it and look less pious, stupid or maybe uneducated. It's exactly what the Pharisees did.

If I write anything that is out of irritation and disgust I immediately feel out of the will of God and out of the anointing of the Spirit and have no rest until I repent. I hear the Spirit of the Lord tell me to minister the life giving Word of God through this world wide platform of CC or stay off of it, because if I get involved in strife it will affect my preaching ministry and the anointing which I desire to stay under.

Sadly they cant see it because of what they are being taught at church .
Let's see - if I modify this just a bit...
Sadly they cant see it because of what they are not being taught at church and by what they are being taught out in the world.
There - fixed it.

Maybe you had it right - if they are being taught in church what I suggested they are being taught out in the world - then, that is much worse!

The Lord shared to me awhile ago, one of the mantras he detests are the words "let us be tomorrow" in other words, man sees a future here on the earth. He focuses all of his delights,. joy and prosperity on the world, in the process ignoring Jesus Christ, the book of revelations and the new world and heaven. They are totally lost and wont survive the day of Judgment. They deny the authority of the lord.

Just keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, cant go wrong

the world , flesh and the devil, love of money, etc those things are distractions.

If anyones debating, what you can do is just deftly change the subject back to Jesus.

Thats where the WWJD? question is most handy.

It behooves you to get the anointing....fill yourself up with the holy spirit.

And like somone who's oiled up their frypan before breaking an egg in it, the contents dont stick. You can even slip out of handcuffs if you are oiled up enough.

I feel like the evil one's been setting many snares set for me lately and I've stepped in every single one of them. :( Some of them were here in CC. I'm so glad I stumbled upon your post. It's like God knew I needed to see it.
