I know I’ve only been on here for a little over a month, but I thought this might be fun to discuss.

I would say the Pros of my CC experience are: People accepting who I am, I can talk about stuff I usually can’t talk about, I have learn many different things, I think it has improved my Christian outlook on issues, and I can use this website when I feel like my outlook of my own experiences may help someone else or asking for help when I see people suffering in my life.

The cons of my CC experience: People that are supposedly Christian saying mean or hateful things to people/culture they don’t understand, people having such a one-minded opinion, they came off as being extreme or a conspiracy theorist (I’m not here to change opinions, but I’m just being honest, I know there are people on here that probably hate my opinions/look on life), when I try to explain something in a thread, and people don’t get it (I know this comes with online interactions, but it’s still a Con nevertheless), and some people, no matter how much you try explaining, they will refuse to listen

I am one for thinking that everything has Pros and Cons, it depends on some things/issues, but overall yes, this is what I believe. Anyway, share your experience and remember everyone, these are just opinions, people can have their opinions, just saying that as a reminder. ^_^

I been here a few years, so my CC experience has been like a country road: Long, a lot of unexpected twists, a few bumps, occasionally another driver getting in my way or wishing I'd get out of the way, but eventually we all get where we need to go.

This is my second time round in here abs it is totally different than the 1st time. This time it seems much deeper with a different kind of interaction plus the website is a little different than it was in 2017.👍👍
Theological debates are like watching sparing bouts at times and u just stay ring side coz getting hit inside the ring could happen..but i have run outta spiritual plasters and bandages so best not get in the middle of the bouts..🤣

I like it otherwise I wouldnt be coming back everyday lol
Actually its a pretty good forum with interesting discussions. Yes, theres also the 'fringe' element but thats half the fun.

There actually is a dedicated conspiracy forum on here so I think the owners have tried to funnel everyone whos a bit paranoid into that one...just to keep everyone safe. They can then talk about the big conspiracy their to their hearts content and not have anyone go 'no way! I dont believe it! you are obviously nuts'

If we're here long enough we all have episodes of being the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly!

It has been quite an educational experience. As a former serial church hopper, I have attended many churches and come across many different interpretations of the bible. So before joining CC, I thought I had heard it all and read it all.

But I have come across strange interpretations of the bible on this site, which has caused me to become really baffled.

But these new interpretations have caused me to dig deeper into the word of God and caused me to study the bible harder than before.:)

Really really strange interpretations,it gets scary.
But then if you read the Bible for yourself, such distractions won't matter which is exactly what I am doing.

There ARE some essentials I believe we must all have. After those, we need to show each other love and grace while discussing those non essentials. I started a thread awhile back to try and capture that idea. Tell me what you think:

Same here. My 2nd time around as well after nearly 5 or 6 years away. First time around was both good and bad. Mostly good. I met some really great ppl here. Now since being back I only recognize a few names from back then. Lots of new ppl or older ppl with new names. Who knows? 😆

I enjoy my time here. Yes, occasionally I'll encounter someone who can be mean/hurtful just like you've encountered, OP. But I'm thankful for the kindness and concern that certain people have shown to me and others on here. And my experiences on here are often more pleasant than not.

No place is perfect and there's a few bad apples in every bunch, but CC is still pretty cool in my book.

very enlightening in many ways -
very sweet and sometimes sour -
and just like any place else, it will
take an honest man to see
the Truth...

The CC forum is like any slice-of-life, and life is like a box of chocolates. Mostly sweet, with a few nuts.

I like the subject :)

Er, about what I've come to expect from the body as a whole with the added benefit of people being a little bit more forthright because they are behind a keyboard.

This is a benefit even when someone may overstep and say things they wouldn't say as it can draw out things that they might need help with that they would otherwise be reticent to say in a bible study or homegroup or just sharing with people at church.

So it's helpful for people that are shy, it's helpful for people that are not shy too. Like Facebook, it can get out of balance and you are still staring at a PC or phone for long periods so you have to be healthy about that.

The only thing that I don't like is the same thing I don't like with the body as a whole. Being connected in spirit is genius and worth of my praise without a doubt but I find it hard to connect with people socially in person and this hasn't exactly helped that.

It can make you feel more distant in certain ways and more connected in others. Note: I feel similarly at physical church buildings. We all may be together in spirit and the unity there is awesome...but in my personal life, it'd be nice to have someone to walk with, talk with, eat with and share the neutral stuff.

So yeah, just like physical church, except by nature of the internet more of the people that might be 1/100 in a local congregation are present, which I REALLY like.

Lot of things to say about the way it functions for me, but I do feel like it's a virtual body but not a "church" per se. Somewhat like a fellowship hall or lobby. I think there are times and ways where it could be more like a sanctuary or a worship service but mainly it's just what I'd expect in a lobby.

You ever fall off a ladder but before you hit the ground a big nail sticking out of the building catches you by the nose and stops your fall? Yeah, that’s CC.
