Praise God, I finally understand why it is when a particularly good piece (or pieces) of truth are spoken, that certain negative individuals (some call them trolls) are drawn seemingly unstoppably to that piece of truth...and begin to say the most negative things. And when you ask them "Why (if they feel the item is evil) don't you just start a good thread and say the good truth you think is missing?" they respond with something like "It's my job to seek out lies and expose them".

Unfortunately (if you have sensitive nature) the best similitude (parable) or natural example of this spiritual behavior is that of the common house fly, which similarly seems unstoppably drawn to negative things... stink...manure...refuse...death.

Perhaps you've noticed in the bible the name Baalzebub (Old testament) or Beelzebub (New testament). It is used to describe a false god (2Kings 1) or "the prince of the devils" (Matt 12:24, Mark 3:22) or even in reference to Satan himself (Luke 11:18,19).

Did you ever wonder what the name Baalzebub or Beelzebub means?? (because it sheds some light on the topic) Well, even though it isn't a pretty concept, Baalzebub means "the Lord of the fly", or Beelzebub "God of dung".

The biblical meaning of that name gives insight as to why some people (like flies) are drawn to anything negative. They basically serve Baalzebub / Beelzebub, the god of such things.

Now that would explain why they are drawn SO strongly to nastiness.... but I started out talking about them being drawn unstoppably when TRUTH is spoken, not nastiness. That seems contradictory.

So... Why would someone who is drawn strongly by nastiness (and delights to speak nastiness rather than good), why would that type of person be drawn strongly towards TRUTH? (That was the mystery I was praying about and now thank God for revealing)

The answer to that lies in 2 Corinthians 2:14-16 in the way that real truth is PERCEIVED by those who have not the spirit of Christ.

2 Corinthians 2:14-16 KJV
Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour [Scent, aroma] of his knowledge by us in every place. [15] For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish: [16] To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. ..."

Some (not the flies) come seeking and desiring the knowledge of truth unto life. They come seeking life and good.. to grow thereby.

Some (the flies) come not for the good attributes, but because they are drawn by the scent of death. (They even say it that way)

Not a fun story but I still thank God for explaining their behavior.

Love in Jesus to all who are able to receive it,
Kelby

True to the nature of our God, He turns the negative postings to His advantage. These negative ones open up the discussion for more explanation. And the silent majority are the best judges.

"For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you." (1st Corinthians 11:19)

Our Father will take what is not to bring down that which is.
