Further evidence of the irrelevance of the pope to Christians.

In 2003, the Vatican’s doctrinal office issued a document laying out the “problem
of homosexual unions,” and said it was a duty to oppose such arrangements.

The RCC has changed position on a multitude of issues since their inception.

Here is a page that enumerates some of them.

I must be the only one who thinks this is good news. This will encourage priests to come out of the closet, and also encourage the laymen to come out of RCC. Francis didn't concoct this yesterday, he was already thinking it. Things being brought into the light is always better as opposed to things being covered up in darkness.

You think it's good news because you endorse and condone the ungodly actions just as the Pope, that's my opinion.

It's my opinion it's bad news, a religious org who names Jesus Christ, condoning homosexuality.

Gods words below on homosexuality!

2 Peter 2:6KJV
6 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;

Roman's 1:26-32KJV
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly
, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Really? So you have no problem with their homosexuality, only with hiding it?

As for Pope Francis, he is a traitor to his own church. It is time he was fired and replaced with someone who actually holds to Catholic beliefs (for the sake of committed Catholics). This pope is simply a Marxist/Socialist who is committed to every evil idea.

That's not what I said...
Read again.
I think the believers have the right to know who represents them, and decide accordingly. Have I not said right after that, believers will be encouraged to leave RCC? This is not a bad thing imo, but a good thing.
The clergy and the top held these views anyway! It is much better in my opinion that they are exposed, because of the people. They believe that they come in a lineage from the apostles which is why they follow their leadership so blindly...

I think they are too far gone and can't get back on track they simply won't elect such a person. Remember that meek, pious Pope that only lived like a month after getting chosen? He supposedly got sick and died. I believe the Palpatines killed him... You could tell by his countenance he was a man of God. Feel sad for the devout Catholics. Wonderful people (many of them) but they will need to wake up.

i thought it was good news that such an obvious unrepentant liar was elected president representing the GOP, thinking that more Christians would 'wake up' and stop blindly pledging their allegiance to the republican party.

not sure if that really had the effect i hoped for - lol? - so while i share your optimism, i suspect it may further harden a lot of people in the RCC, just as the worldly political scene in the US over the last several years has further deluded many people.

i suppose that both things happen from like causes - as in Egypt long ago - the Lord uses such things to call out His own, and to fill up the cup of iniquity of the wicked. let the vile continue to be vile; let the righteous continue to do what is right: in the end when all is laid bare, God and His people will be vindicated, He will be hallowed, and everyone will be without excuse.

Amen to this part (on politics, I don't comment since I am not an American citizen yet so I feel like it's out of place from me. I only comment related to covid when it comes to current subjects, but not on politicians, elections etc. I don't even react)

Maybe I am too optimistic when I hope, that people won't accept this. After all, the people didn't wake up to all the child abuse in RCC. I don't know how parents even let their children be alone with priests. Obviously not all of them are deviants, there are good priests, but how can you risk even a minute possibility? And the church refusing to address it and keeping the abusers in positions. "The fish stinks from the head".

But I'm glad that at least somebody understood what I wanted to say. I am looking at the big picture... Of course, otherwise, that it's bad, that it has come to something like this.

my husband was sexually abused in his family 'church', by his male teacher -(Baptist) -
it's universal, for sure, not exclusive...
I think the catholics get caught more often due to their great power and numbers,
and I do believe that there are some innocent and ignorant priests out there,
but they will have to eventually acknowledge the reality of abuses and of
course the 'cover-ups', re-assignments', in order to be exempt from
the wrath of God that is coming...

The Catholic church needs to primarily confront the evil of pedophilia within itself.
This progressive change is merely a red herring.

The pope is a religious leader, a president is not. The pope is suppose to know the Bible. Apparently he doesn't. This isn't a mere politician. The Catholic church has millions of adherents worldwide. This is about leading people astray spiritually. A president has nothing to do with this subject. This is very serious.

I agree 100%, people didnt vote for a religious leader in Donald Trump

It's a disgrace what the Pope is doing, will he endorse killing the unborn (Abortion) next?

The catholic church was already in massive decline around the world, it's going to be a mass Exodus with this recent move.
