Galatians 1:12
the gospel i preached was not devised by man, i received it by revelation from Jesus.

John 21:25
Jesus also did many other things, if they were written down, the whole world would not
have room for the books

Endof quotes.

i believe in Gods words, but they are not the be all and end all.
they are the arrows that point to all creation. The words are a tenth of all
the glory and joy that God has created for us. Beyond the words, there are
His revelations. If ee limit ourselves to just words, we are missing te realm
of majesty that He is there to provide us. If we glue ourselves to the word only
we are forever living in the flesh and we are cutting ourselves off of th endless
glory the Holy Spirit has promised us. That is the realm of sweet holiness.

Living only in the word is a life of doubt, arguement, rear and discontent. And most
of all a subjection to the will or the evil one. Folks please put yourselves in the arms of God
It is a beautiful world there

Hello and welcome to CC...
Your title question seems a bit convoluted. Jesus Himself is the door; nobody gets to eternal life by any other route. The word of God tells us about Jesus, but the word itself is not the saviour. We are encouraged (some would say, 'commanded') to study the word, which points us to Jesus. As He said, He came that we might have life more abundantly; not this present life, in which He tells us we will have trouble and sorrow, but eternal life, which we can begin to experience now through Him.

Question: if your "revelations" go contrary to the bible which would you believe?

The Spirit of God will never led you contrary to the word of God

You are most certainly wrong when you say "God's Word is not the be all end all"

Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. Matthew 24:35

.....for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
Psalms 138:2 KJV

For ever, O Lord , thy word is settled in heaven.
Psalms 119:89 KJV

Hi iamabeilever, I would have to disagree.

The Bible trumps man’s authority, church tradition, and our own opinions.

Gods word keeps us from being “tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching” (Ephesians 4:14).

Your claim is false, God magnifies his word above himself, as you try to reduce God and His Words to some Church mouse living in the basement.

Jesus Christ Was The Word Made Flesh, The World Beheld His Glory.

Matthew 4:4KJV
4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Psalm 138:2KJV
2 I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

Psalm 12:6-7KJV
6 The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
7 Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.
8 The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are exalted.

I'd like to confirm what you are meaning here in order to continue.

We are told to not go beyond what is written.

Will you state a bit plainer what you mean here before I spend the time? The pharisees knew scripture but they did not know the living Word.

Regardless of what the OP meant, 1 Timothy 1:4; Titus 1:14, 3:9...

Certainly if you are drawn off into the flesh in an argument that's no bueno. Repent and move on...

Hello Iamabeliever

Other than God's word and choosing to only live in the word, what other alternative do you recommend that is better than God's word.

May you please also confirm whether or not you are a Christian.

Beyond the words, there are His revelations.
Hello Iamabeliever, could you give us a few real-life examples of what you mean by, "His revelations" that are "beyond His words".

Thanks :) You continue:

If we glue ourselves to the word only we are forever living in the flesh......
"Living in the flesh" means living in sin/living according to this world's order and understanding of things, apart from/in defiance of God's will. On the other hand, living according to the Bible in obedience to the Spirit's leading is, in fact, the very opposite of "living in the flesh".

You continue:

Living only in the word is a life of doubt, argument, rear and discontent. And most of all a subjection to the will of the evil one.
That's interesting, because I've actually found that the opposite of what you just said has been true in my life and walk, as well the opposite of what I've seen and experienced in lives of other Christians I've known over the years!

Our minds are both renewed and transformed daily as the Spirit leads us in and by His word, the Bible, and our lives are set back on track (whenever we allow them to go astray) by His continual, sanctifying work in us through His word .. e.g. John 17:17; Romans 12:2.

God bless you!

~Deut
p.s. - as the Lord Jesus said in His high, priestly prayer to His Father on our behalf,

John 17
17 Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.

Truth doesn't need you to believe it to be truth

Truth is truth all by itself

Living only in the word is .. a life of subjection to the will or the evil one.
Hello again Iamabeliever, I've (once again) found that the very opposite is true in my life and in my walk before the Lord, as the only way I (or anyone else) can live according to God's word (and His will) is to live in accordance with Holy Spirit, who indwells us and leads us into a proper/spiritual understanding of the truth (that is found in His word).

The Bible is the word of God, NOT the word of Satan, so whenever we are led by the Spirit in our understanding of it, and in our obedience to it, we are living in subjection to the will of the Living God, NOT in subjection to the will of Satan .. e.g. 1 Corinthians 2:12-13.

Unbelievers, who do not have the Spirit, cannot understand, nor will they accept what is written in the Bible, because the things of God that are detailed for us there are spiritual in nature, so they can only be discerned by the Spirit and by those who are led by Him. The word of God therefore, and most of what it teaches us as truth, seems like nothing more than foolishness to the unregenerate, because they cannot understand it from God's, spiritual, POV .. e.g. 1 Corinthians 1:18, 2:14.

There isnt life beyond the word, humans are sinners saved by grace, dependent upon a living God, that died and shed his precious blood for our sins daily, God is Holy

Being a blood bought, born again, child of the King; and a devout disciple of Jesus the Christ: let me say that methinks thou art just the latest in a long line of trolls to visit our Christian Site.

But, hey, hang around until you are properly disposed of. Who knows? You may actually realize your sin and repent!
