Covid Christmas Carols, how alliterative.

Anyway... This thread is for coming up with 2020 versions of old christmas songs.

Don't forget to say what original song tune your song goes with. You may think "it's so obvious this song is a parody of Jingle Bells" while somebody else is scratching his head wondering about it.

To the tune of White Christmas:

I'm dreaming of a quiet Christmas
Like none I've ever seen before
With no family dinner
(Some think that's a winner!)
But with our family, less is never more

Social distancing sure cramps our style
Cause we enjoy our company
Man I sure can't wait to be freeeeeeeee
From this covid crap that hinders me

To the tune of Jingle Bells:

Buy our stuff!
Buy our stuff!
Black Friday is here!
It was once just one day but
It's all month long this year

We have figured out a way
To pad our bottom line
Though covid ruined Christmas
We will still be doing fine

I will try to be alliterative while I'm pondering a carol. First, have to google to see what is the definition of alliterative. I am surmising that it is something a bit edgy for sure. OK, something to do with a style of rhyming.

Let's see to the tune of silent night:

Silent night, boring night
Home again, locked up tight
Germs and sickness fill the air
Stay away and please don't share
Covid coughs and wheezes
Covid coughs and sneezes

and then there's deck the halls

Deck the halls with sanitizer
Co co co co co co vid vid vid
And get out the vaporizer
Co co co co co co vid vid vid
Stay away and keep your distance
Co co co co co co vid vid vid
Until we all have resistance (to)
Co co co co co co vid vid vid

And there will probably be more later because once I get started on song parodies it's hard to stop

Clever and quite amusing. Alliterative.

Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer,
Had a very runny nose.
And if you ever saw it,
You could even say it blows.

Somebody in chat did something similar.

Rudolph the red nosed reindeer
Had a very shiny nose
Is this a sign of covid?
Only Dr. Faucci knows

Tune of frosty the snowman:

Covid the virus
is a nasty yucky germ
it'll clog your pipes
and stuff your nose
you don't want it oh no

Covid the virus
like some old medieval plague
You can try some stuff
But it seems like luck
To have made it to this day

You have to social distance and
You cannot form a crowd
If you get to close to me
You will spread that virus round

Oh Covid the virus
and the changes that it brings
I've got 20 masks
and I wear them stacked
And now I cannot breathe

Coughing and wheezing
Coughing and wheezing
Oh I cannot go
Coughing and wheezing
Coughing and wheezing
Let's sit and watch the snow

tune of it came upon a midnight clear:

It came upon us with great fear
Oh how could we have known
That this was not a normal year
The panic was overblown

Pieces of cloth across the face
Like hiding wherever we go
We wish that we could leave this place
But we must stay at home

And tune of the first noel:

The first outbreak
Was far far away
By the time that we knew it
It was here to stay
So keep away
Away from me
Maybe I'll see you in a year or three

Covid, Covid, Covid, Covid soon I'm just gonna flip my lid.

To the tune of O Holy Night

O scary night
The germs are freely flowing
It is the fright of our year two thousand twenty
Long lays the world
In isolation pining
For Door Dash to appear
And the tummy grows in girth

A thrill of hope
The masks are made in purple
For youtube tutorials
And Amazon sales thrive/arrive

Fall on your swords
Give up your precious freedoms
O night is mine
O night, what day is it?
O night still shines
O night, O sleep sublime

Preferably in three years rather than one. Year three post-covid there will probably be some other virus that will try to kill us. At that time we will sing new songs.

Tune of : Joy to the world

Joy to the world
Covid has gone
The earth can now breathe free
Let every face
remove its mask
And we will all breathe free
A sigh of great relief
We'll breathe We'll breath with such relief

No more stay home
or zoom meetings
nor six foot spacing strips
We're gonna crowd
in every place
and hug and dance and sing
and go out for eating
We'll do we'll do so many things

To the tune of "It's the most wonderful time of the year:"

(And yes, I know "boringest" is not a word. I claim poetic license.)

It's the most
Boringest time
Of the year
When once we were merry
This year it is just very
Grey and so drear
It's the most
Boringest time
Of the year

It's the gloom
Gloomiest sea-
Son of all
While this virus does roam
We will stay safe at home
And go straight up the wall!
It's the gloom
Gloomiest sea-
Son of all

To the tune of Holly jolly Christmas:

Have a covid kind of Christmas
It's a peaceful one this year
No need to fight the crowds in stores
When Amazon's right here!

To the tune of we three Kings:

We three peeps
In quarantine sit
We don't like
This covid one bit
Mom and dad
And child, we've all had it
And we're 'bout to have a fit

Oooooooooooh!

Eat a meal
And play a game
Everyday is
Always the same
Christmas chatter
It don't matter
Santa'd be banned if he came
